1. Get exclusive discounts at Whole Foods with Amazon Prime.

If you didn't already know, Amazon acquired Whole Foods Market back in 2017 and has since dropped prices by about 5%. Even better, if you're an Amazon Prime member, you can save an extra 10% on all of the store's sale items and take advantage of additional discounts/promos at stores nationwide.
A person holding their phone with the Whole Foods app displayed in front of a Whole Foods register While shopping in-store, you’ll want to look for items that are tagged with yellow or blue stickers. The yellow tags will qualify for an additional 10% off at checkout (excluding alcohol). The blue tagged items have special pricing exclusively for Amazon Prime members. To receive these exclusive deals and savings in-store, just download the Whole Foods Market app, sign in with your Amazon account, and then scan the app’s Prime Code at checkout. If you’d rather, you can instead use your phone number to save at checkout. Visit Amazon for more details.

2. Download a cashback app, like Ibotta or Drop.

Person holding phone with Ibotta app Unfortunately, Whole Foods Market no longer offers store coupons or rewards.😩 However, one way to spend less money out of pocket is to take advantage of cashback apps, such as Ibotta or Drop. Just purchase qualifying items and submit your receipt(s) to earn cashback. Even sweeter, you can submit to more than one rebate site with the purchase of just one item!

3. BYOB - Bring your own bags to Whole Foods.

4. Don't be shy to ask for samples.

If you want to sample a product like a unique cheese, sparkling beverage (not including alcohol), or even chocolate, team members are allowed to let you try it. Employees will open the package for you and share the rest as samples with other customers.

5. Check out the food bars at Whole Foods.

However, at $8.99/lb, be sure to choose your items wisely, as heavier foods cause the price to rise quickly.

6. Ask the Whole Foods meat department for help.

They will shuck, dry rub, marinate, peel, fillet, cube, and even cut up your meat for FREE, so if you're in a hurry and don't want to mess with meat when you get home, just stop by the butcher shop.

If not, participating Whole Foods butcher and seafood counters sell inexpensive, pre-packaged bones and shells for a fraction of the cost of a steak or a whole fish. It doesn't hurt to ask!

7. Buy the value packs in the refrigerated meat section.

Meat value packs In the meat and seafood departments, you can always count on high standards for the quality and sourcing of everything from fresh ground beef to frozen gluten-free chicken nuggets. When shopping in these departments, look for the value packs to get fish and meat at a better price. Also, look for budget-friendly pricing on lesser-known cuts such as boneless sirloin, flat iron steak or skirt steak. You can even ask the butcher to cut up your value pack meats how you'd like!

8. Make note of the Whole Foods return policy.

If you are unsatisfied with a Private Label product due to unusual taste or consistency, you can return it to your local Whole Foods Market for a full refund or exchange. They do not offer returns or exchanges for health and beauty products, electronics, and other items, without proof of purchase.
