The 10 BEST Undereye Concealers (Options Under $10!)
Bags belong at the department store, NOT under your eyes.
Your best defense against dark circles (outside of sunglasses) is undereye concealers, especially as we try to cover those dark, bluish-purple signs of fatigue, aging, or simply genetics.
Since many of us women (and men!) experience the fight against dark undereye circles, we rounded up some of the Hip2Save team’s favorite concealers along with input from the Hip2Save community to list a few of the best options out there.
1. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye
- Available at Ulta | $27
This concealer packs a punch of pigment along with skin-loving ingredients like hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, vitamins, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants. It covers the deepest dark circles while improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles at the same time! No wonder why this concealer has such great results—it was developed alongside plastic surgeons!
“The small tubes which are only 0.11oz at $10 seem spendy, but a little goes a long way with it! I probably never would have bought it because of the size and price, but I got one in my Ipsy bag and discovered how long the tube lasts!” – Nicole
“I have very deep, very black/purple under eyes that get very oily. I use a primer and [Bye Bye Undereye] in my makeup regime.” – Christine
2. Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer
- Available at Macy’s | $24.65
This long-lasting, non-drying formula gives the look of flawless skin all day long — through water, perspiration, and humidity! Its medium coverage but buildable for days when you really need to hide the fact that you only got 5 hours of sleep.
“Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer covers dark circles without caking and settling in fine lines. YSL Touche Eclat radiant touch concealer brightens around the eye. I use both, Estée Lauder first and then YSL on top. I have dark circles and this combo covers and brightens them up perfectly.” – Elaine
3. Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer

This is not your mother’s concealer… this is extreme! Meant to cover up major imperfections like scars, hyperpigmentation, major discoloration, and burns, this water-proof, full-coverage formula contains a high concentration of pigments with serious staying power. 5. Tarte Shape Tape
- Available at Ulta | $10-$27
This cult-classic contour concealer (say that 5 times fast) can do just about anything! In addition to masking dark circles, acne, and redness, it works as a contouring stick to highlight and sculpt when used with lighter or darker shades. Its nutrient-rich formula is powered by Amazonian clay along with mango seed and shea butter to promote skin elasticity and illumination. It’s also cruelty-free, gluten-free, and vegan!
“I love Shape Tape! But be sure you blend in the Shape Tape very well or it will end up looking uneven.” — Angela at Hip2Save
6. BeautyCounter Touchup Concealer Pen
Similar to YSL Touche Eclat (they actually look identical), this concealer comes in a click-pen design with a brush applicator allowing the product to glide on with ease. The buildable medium-coverage formula also contains knotgrass extract which reduces the appearance of fine lines and photoaging, making skin look brighter, firmer, and flawless.
7. Urban Decay Stay Naked Concealer
- Available at Ulta | $29
If you’re looking for something a little more lightweight, this concealer is for you. Like the name implies, this formula melds like a second skin and can be layered to build a fuller coverage. It also has an impressive 25 shade line up with 9 shade intensities, 3 mastertones, and 5 undertones so you can seamlessly blend in with your foundation.
“Blends in a snap!” — Cass at Hip2Save
“It blends soooo well and has great coverage. It doesn’t feel/look like I’m wearing makeup” — Andrea at Hip2Save

9. NYX HD Studio Concealer
- Available at Target | $4.29
This concealer is my absolute favorite, so much so that I wear it every day! It has a pretty light consistency so it blends like a dream to provide medium coverage, though it is buildable should you need more. It also has a decent shade range along with color-correcting options like lavender for sallow skin, green to neutralize redness, and yellow for purple/blue undereye circles.
10. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser
- Available at Walmart | $7.98
Erase away dark circles, fine lines, and puffiness with this super-concentrated formula made with goji berry and Haloxyl, an effective blood circulation booster. As if that wasn’t enough, the applicator on this concealer makes it so worth trying! It’s super soft and helps distribute the product easily and evenly, so all that’s required is a few taps with your fingers to blend for medium coverage.
It has great coverage while still being lightweight… I don’t want anything that sinks into my wrinkles, I’m not in my 20’s (or even my 30’s) anymore!” – Jennifer
Wow. Was this tried on by anyone with tan skin btw? The #1 choice sounds too good to be true!..if so, gotta try it!
It’s pretty heavy duty. It covers everything, dark circles, dark secrets, etc. A little dab will do well. Seriously, you need much less than you think. Also, if you have dry skin, this works much better if you’ve moisturized 1st. Otherwise, it can get cakey and sit in fine lines. It also seems to blend better with the heat of your finger rather than a sponge.
Thanks Jennifer, very helpful!
I’ve used the IT concealer and everything said about it is absolutely true. It’s great stuff and a VERY tiny speck goes a long way. I mean literally a 1/4 of a grain of rice on the tip of your ring finger, dab that on your other ring finger and you have plenty to do both eyes. I’ve only replaced mine after it got old. My only complaint, I wish they’d make smaller tubes. I still have lots of product left after a year.
I’ve been using Esté Lauder Double Wear for years and it’s amazing even while working out.
L’Oréal Infallible Full Wear concealer is a great dupe for Shape Tape….I prefer it actually!
Just my opinion, but after reading many positive reviews about the Maybelline Age Rewind, I decided to give it a try. While I did appreciate the applicator, I found that it still creased. This happened even after I used moisturizer and primer…oh, and I’m 39. So for me, I think I’ll move on and try some of the other great suggestions. Thanks for the post!
Thanks for your feedback! I really appreciate it, Brooke!
I use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser and I’m 42. It works best for me when I use a damp makeup sponge to blend/press it in, but it NEVER creases and it doesn’t do that dry/crepey/ohmanwhendidIgetsoold thing that other undereye concealers do!
Seriously love it cosmetics concealer. Truth be told alittle dab will do ya! Bought the travel size and it’s lasted me 6 months!!! Works great concealing dark bags.
So many ppl rave about IT Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Undereye but I find the formulation to be way too thick and cakey, even when using a *very* small amount and blending. It also creases like crazy. I LOVE Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer on the other hand…pigmented but not cakey whatsoever and the shade range is phenomenal! lt also comes in travel sizes now, so you may wanna update the post to reflect that!
I’m just the opposite of you. My favorite concealer is the IT and I found NARS to be too sheer. I guess it depends on your face.
Yup, it depends on how dark your circles are and how much coverage you need. My under eye circles aren’t bad, so I have no need for such a heavy product. Plus I just can’t deal w/ creasing.
The trick with It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye is to use a light dusting of Bye Bye Pores setting powder after application of a very small amount of the concealer that has been warmed first on your hand.
I just bought several new concealers during Ulta’s 21 days of beauty including the shape tape. I am happy it comes recommended. I like to try new ones when they’re 50%off.
Hi can anyone on here recommend a good eye cream for dark circles and puffy eyes? Thanks
I’m not a Lime Life seller but I love their “Eye Arise”. I’ve noticed dramatic results.
I swear by dr Brandt no more needles. I put on every morning before make. Works wonders and makes me look awake.
Try 100 Percent Pure coffee bean caffeine eye cream. This is vegan and cruelty free, nothing but good ingredients. I have gone through several tubes.
As a man, I use peach tinted “L.A. Girl HD Pro Concealer” first, blend, then use “NYX HD Studio Concealer” over that. I know as far as color correctors go with dark circles you usually go with peach or yellow. I found yellow didn’t blend well with my skin tone so I pretty much stick with peach. That two-step system usually works best for me. I actually have very good skin, but dark circles have plagued me for several years and I’m always trying out different ways to conceal without drawing too much attention to wearing makeup.
Thanks so much, Mikey! It’s nice to have an opinion of a male and also the process you are using.
Benefits new cakeless concealer is awesome! I have 2 small children and work 10 hour days and no one can tell!! 😝 I love it!!
Can any one recommend an eco friendly concealer that is vegan and cruelty free?
Try 100 Percent pure coffee bean caffeine eye cream. This is vegan and cruelty free, nothing but good ingredients. I have gone through several tubes.
I LOVE the NYX Studio HD concealer! After using expensive department store brands for a long time and trying this on a win, I won’t go back! I also have very sensitive skin and have not broken out or been irritated by this. It’s a win for sure!
I developed dark circles this past winter after never having them, and it turns out im low on iron. After going to the doctor (for something else not dark circles Lol), I was tested and now take supplements for it. I always had cold hands and feet along with headaches but never thought much of it.
Thanks for this review of concealers 🙂 !
I’ve used Nars Radiant Concealer for the past 2 years. The price is way too high for the applicator because it finishes within a month. The concealer in the jar has lasted me months and is the same price. I have very dark undereye circles and I always have to reapply. I’m thinking about trying the Shape Tape next.
I use the beautycounter concealer and love it! It’s just the right amount of coverage and I don’t have issues with it sitting in fine lines or wrinkles. Yes, it’s a little pricey but it’s worth it and it lasts forever. And I know that I’m using a safer product on my skin. 😊
