Just curious how everyone feels about getting ice cream during Covid-19? My husband just ordered me a ice cream birthday cake and I’m a little worried….. Has anyone been getting ice cream and it’s okay?!

    • MommySpendsLess

What’s your specific concern? Someone scooping it?

      • MaaMaaBear

Yea I suppose or droplets falling onto it and then not being killed in the freezer! I hate this, I keep reading mixed i fo on how and what the virus can stay on. I will admit I am more paranoid then most, but these cupcakes look delicious and I was just wondering how other people were thinking and feeling? Thanks so much!

If a worker is symptomatic, they shouldn’t report to work or should be sent home assuming some kind of screening is happening daily. Things get a bit complicated with those that are asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic, since there is still a lot of debate about this.
If you or anybody in your house that would be consuming the ice cream is considered “high risk”, it is better safe than sorry to simply avoid it.

They just published a study that says it is viable outside a host for 28 days…. we already knew back in March it was at least 17 days, but a lab is claiming it’s at least up to 28 days …. I would say if you are worried, I wouldn’t get anything that isn’t piping hot (or a take and bake situation)

I’m just some random person on the internet, but I’ve been eating out, I have no concerns 🤷‍♀️ I read a article in a med journal awhile back that said there’s no real evidence it’s transmitted by food; the concern with droplets is that it gets into your respiratory tract via your mucous membranes. But even before COVID, if I had any questions about the hygiene/sanitation of any restaurant, I wouldn’t eat there. Sure hope at night point I’ve been served food that people have coughed/sneezed/spit in (be nice to your wait staff, people, even if they suck 😂)

      • rochellemcgee

        No* point

      • Eva

I have read that the virus cannot is killed in our stomach juices so not to worry about eating food from other places.

        • C

You do realize your respiratory tract and digestive tract share the same delivery system right? (your mouth and throat)… I mean honestly how do you think ppl get strep, mono, etc?

  7. PeachPie

Thank you, our cupcake kits are $11.99… I’m gonna grab some for Sunday’s dessert!

  8. natalie

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      You are welcome!

  9. Savvy Mom

Thanks! Family is going to get some Gotta Have It this weekend 😃

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re welcome! Enjoy!

Tried this ice cream and the amount of dye in this is absurd! Made my family sick.
