Using Dollar Tree Cards Can Save You A Bundle – Here’s How!
Get Dollar Tree cards for every occasion!
Dollar Tree cards are so cute, and they’re cheap too!
Is your greeting card organizer looking sparse? You can save money and time when you stock up on cards at Dollar Tree! You won’t see the greeting cards listed on their website, but if you head to the store you’ll find they offer a huge selection.
Why buy Dollar Tree cards?
There are several stores that sell paper goods and you may be wondering why Dollar Tree sticks out. Here’s why Dollar Tree greeting cards are a steal:
1. You’ll save A LOT of money.
Prices of greeting cards are hitting astronomical levels. According to the Huffington Post, prices for paper goods have increased by 39% recently.
If you only have $30 for a gift, a premium card that costs $5.99 takes up 20% of your budget! Who has that kind of money to waste? This is where this discount store comes to the rescue! They often offer 2 cards for $1, even with the general price rising to $1.25. That’s just 50 cents apiece!
The average price of a single greeting card at other retailers is somewhere around $4. Even if you only buy 12 cards per year, you’ll save around $42 by choosing Dollar Tree instead. 🙌
2. They have a huge selection.
You might be surprised at the number of greeting cards that Dollar Tree has available. From birthdays to graduations, they have something for every occasion. They even had a section for Nurses Week!
Need a card from the cat? They have those too! 😹
3. Dollar Tree cards are high quality.
You’d think you might have to sacrifice quality for a lower price. That’s not the case. Their selection has bright colors, modern designs, creative messages on the inside, and decent cardstock.
Getting your yearly supply of cards at Dollar Tree is a no-brainer. You’ll save BIG and still have a pleasing card to give! Plus you can avoid going to the store for a card at the last minute by buying a few cards at a time and storing them in a greeting card organizer. When a holiday or birthday comes around, you’ll be prepared!

“At the beginning of the year, I head to Dollar Tree and buy the birthday cards I’ll need for the entire year ahead. Grandkids, kids, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends. I buy a calendar that has pockets for every month. I address the cards, wish them happy birthday, sign them, and put them in the correct month. This has helped me to send cards before they could be late. Works like a charm!

Dollar Tree cards all the way!!! I always look for the Joyfully Yours logo on the dividers. The Joyfully Yours have the most beautiful sentiments with scripture. I love them! I go to Dollar Tree specifically for cards. I buy whatever looks good to me and then add it to my cache at home. I have even bought a couple dozen beautiful cards for friends that I know can’t get out to the stores so they have something to share with others too.
They have a great selection. Any time my mom gives one of my cards to someone she always says, I would have never known it came from Dollar Tree.
If you have a Trader Joe’s nearby, their cards are $1.00. The selection changes very often which is nice. They definitely don’t have as many choices as the Dollar Tree though.
Thanks for the helpful tip and reminder! Good to know! 🙌💖
If you want a more expensive-looking card, you can accent the front with a little bit of carefully placed fine glitter or small rhinestones.
What a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion, Traci!
If cards have to be given in my household, we make our own on computer paper. Hand drawn and written. Between mothers day, fathers day, birthdays, Easter and Christmas for a family of 3, at $5.99 a card that alone saves us $66 a year. Which doesn’t sound like a lot but in ten years that is $660 spent on cardboard and paper that just ends up in the trash. If I need a card for someone outside my household it is always dollar tree.
I never spend more than a dollar on any card even if they aren’t from Dollar Tree. Its extra special when you make them yourself. Yes do agree most end up in the trash.
The cards at Dollar Tree look identical to the expensive cards you buy at other stores. In fact, most of their cards are name brand and at 2/1.00 they’re a huge money saver!💰💰💰💰💰
But most of all…..It’s what you write inside that makes it even more special & personal.
It’s the thought that counts, so why not save money too!! Awesome post Hip2Save!👏👍😁
Yes! 🙌❤️Thank you so much, Kristi! We sure appreciate the sweet feedback. 🥰
I always send out cards from $tree!! The grandkids love to get mail, lol😀. I dress them up with some additional stickers I buy from the $tree too. They have such a large selection of cards, that I always buy some extra for my stash. When something pops up I always have a card at home. I know the mail is called ‘snail mail’ nowadays, but there is still something special and unique about sending out a card. It makes people feel special.
Such a sweet idea! Thanks for taking the time to share with us! Glad to hear how much your grandkids have enjoyed them. ❤️🤗
Where can I get a calendar with pockets?…such a great idea!
