Check out why readers love these meal boxes too:

My family loves EveryPlate. They like the variety of food and recipes and I like how easy they are to make. I had a lot of skepticism trying this out because the price was so cheap. I did not think it would feed a family of four, but it is always plenty of food for the family. I highly recommend them!

I love EveryPlate! The meals are easy to prepare, tasty, and allow me to try new fresh ingredients. Everything we have had has been a huge hit with my family, and I love coming home to boxed groceries ready to be cooked. EveryPlate truly helps me get a home-cooked meal on the table, even on busy nights.

I love Every Plate. I’ve learned new ways to cook. My picky teen will at least try anything in the box. He likes most of it, too!! Although the meals are a bit time-consuming, it takes the dread of deciding what to cook out of the picture. We save our favorite recipe cards and have made them again. Customer service was great when there was a problem with one of the boxes. We get it about once a month for something different.

I have to say it has been good for me. I have been using it for about 2 months now. I work two jobs and am in college, and I just don’t have time to meal plan and shop. This has been very convenient for me, and worth the reduced stress. Also, they have a student price at $4 per serving that lasts all year! The produce is not always what I would have picked out myself, but I have never had anything inedible. I hate zucchini, though, so I always avoid the meals that come with it. Im starting to get tired of roasted carrots! 🙂 The 2 serving meals are enough for my husband and I to eat with usually a little leftover. I had worried that the portions would be tiny, but that isn’t so.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh cool! Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Super glad you have been pleased with this service!

    • Stacy

Oh my goodness I’m tired of roasted carrots too! I’ve had to use the “veggie swap” option a few times already, can’t handle anymore! Customer chat is amazing though, when I’ve had missing, broken or wrong ingredients! The only thing I don’t care for is that they won’t give a refund, only credit your account.

      • Sher

I agree about the carrots. Sometimes I just save them for another recipe and microwave some Green Giant Simply Steam veggies in the microwave instead. I find them on sale bogo at the grocery store about once a month and stock up on different varieties of them.

    • Tammy

they told me on the phone if I ever got any vegetables that I was unhappy with — even a bruised tomato to call them

How is the better compared to Hello fresh? I’ve just started Hello Fresh last week and so far love it.

    • Amber

I feel the meals are just about the same usually with one or two less ingredients (for example a lot of the burger meals seem to be about the same but might not have the extra veggie or different cheese to top it with) but you don’t get as big of a variety of meals to choose from with this plan. I like the added ingredients in hello fresh but it’s $3-4 more per serving which I can’t justify for a slice of cheese lol.

      • Amber

        They’re also the same company.

    • kerRI

Yes Hello Fresh bought them out

    • Clestina

Cheaper mainly. I’d say these meals are more simple. Hello Fresh has more interesting meals. Every plate tends to use a lot of carrots and their meals repeat quite a bit. I’ve gotten them quite a bit though bc they’re affordable. I do like Home Chef’s meals that are the ready made ingredients and come with the pan. Pricey without a deal though.

  3. Melanie

I have used them but have not had the positive experiences some of you have had. I found the food quality to be low, especially on the fruits and vegetables. Customer service has also been terrible for us – my daughter who lives in another state has had many of the same problems we have had. In ALL of our boxes the food was previously frozen and then thawed out-which is why the fruits and vegetables were so awful. You get what you pay for. Home Chef is more expensive but SO much more worth it.

    • Clestina

Going to agree on the veggies. I’ve had quite a few rotten items but I’ve done well with customer service chat for either a full or partial credit depending on how much it was. One box did arrive very late and we got a full box credit. The Home Chef meals that come in the tray are my new favorite bc they’re kinda partially assembled. I did a groupon deal on my first box. They just enticed me back with the $90 off 4 boxes. I like to do them once in awhile. Not all the time.

We tried it recently. My wife liked it because I cooked but that’s because we had everything and directions. Directions could have provided more guidance (salt and pepper – pinch or tablespoon?). We don’t usually pan fry – there was a lot of pan frying which splatters. Also, don’t plan on leftovers.

  5. Patricia Goff

It sounds amazing. If I was single I would so use this service. I just wish they had more food that my brothers or kids would eat. My brothers are challenged and you can’t make them eat anything they don’t want to eat. You all are so lucky. I will tell my neighbor about this. She only has one son and he eats everything. Thanks for sharing all the money saving tips. I appreciate all your hard work.

  6. Ava

I have tried Hello Fresh and Every plate and I have to say Every plate was a waste of money. The produce in two of the three meals were so bad they weren’t able to be used. And when I went to cook our third meal the meat had spoiled. For just a little more money Hello Fresh is a much better option in my opinion.

I have been using this service for a few months now…what I like about it is; its all delivered to my home and I dont have to plan or think about what to make for dinner… my biggest downfall is what to plan for dinner and I get into a rut to what is easy! So its all here for you! Another bonus is my kids like every meal..they are teenage girls. Never complain about dinner. Also I can add to it if I need to for a family of four. I can actually find these ingredients in the store while some other meal services is like” wow I cant find that spice or that ingredient” Even though they are good you cant duplicate it! Everyplate I can! So I like it; yes I do find there are alot of carrots but I tend to use other veggies if I dont feel like it! But I have to say roasted veggies are great!! I use the air fryer as well..turns out fab!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Awesome! Thanks a ton for your review, Amy! Good to know what a hit it has been for you and your family!

We tried Everyplate and it was a horrible experience. We are back to HelloFresh. Of the 4 weeks we had it 1 box was lost completely (they gave me a credit which wasn’t then used???), 2nd box arrived 3 days late and everything was spoiled (again got a credit), 3rd box was 2 days late and couldn’t be used (again only offered a credit), 4th box was you guessed it late and bad. Ended up finally getting all my money back and canceling. Basically I paid for 4 weeks of product and got zero before they finally refunded me. From what I could tell the produce selection was not good. Small carrots, etc. Very basic basic recipes. Everything just thrown in the same box. So you have to scour for what ingredients belong to a meal….not that we were ever able to make any since all our meat went bad for 4 weeks…. Much prefer HelloFresh. Just my experience.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! Thanks so much for the honest comment and for sharing your experience. We truly appreciate it.

    • kelly

Not a good experience for us either.
Everything thrown into the box… some packets smashed- like dijon mustard – all over my other items. Yuck. The box came leaking…eek.
My oldest son did like it as he got to pick and help make dinner…which is nice.

Do they offer gluten free options or Keto like Greenchef?

  10. kaylatrumble

Thank you Team Hip2Save! I have been looking into these meal service and have been hesitant even though they look really good. I just ordered my first box due to your influence! It just me three days out of the week when my girls are with their dad. I never know what to cook myself for dinner.. it’s so hard cooking for one. With this I’ll have a meals ready for me to cook when I get home from work and a mean for lunch the next day! Thank you! Kayla ♥️

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! You’re very welcome, Kayla! Hope you love the meals!

  11. crustycat

Does anyone know if they offer keto options

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I am not seeing an option for that, crustycat.

  12. tracy

I have tried many, many of these meal services and EveryPlate was the worst. You get what you pay for and the quality and freshness of ingredients was subpar. People are raving on here about Hello Fresh but I found the meals very time consuming to prepare and cook. Home Chef has by far been my favorite and worth the extra money.

  13. Kristi

Loved this! Tried it for three weeks, although you do need to cook the meals within a few days or the veggies go bad. My kids loved helping, and actually liked some of the meals, and it got them to try new things. Great for two working parents!

  14. Linda

I have been using Hello Fresh for my parents who are elderly and mom doesn’t want to cook much anymore they also live across the hundreds of miles from any family. they have loved every meal. I also have a couple of free meals if someone wants a coupon code. this is cheaper than having meals delivered to their home which my sisters and I have done. I did splurge a couple of times and ordered the gourmet meals and they really liked those( I didn’t tell her that they were gourmet and cost extra) they will be married 65 years next week and will shortly be moving into independent living so for a couple of months this is helping.

  15. Maddie

We’ve used every plate and dinnerly. I really love them both. Every plate tends to take a little longer to cook the meals since you make a lot of it, but its always delicious. I would also say as I have 2 kids, dinnerly tends to offer choices that are more kid friendly (i have young kids), but my kids will still usually eat what I cook from everyplate. Customer service wise I called one time because after i moved my first box at my new house was not cold and missing ingredients when delivered and they gave me a full refund with no fighting so I really respected that. We continue to use both since it saves me so much time choosing meals, writing the list and clicklist/ shopping. The meals are generally like 6 steps and filling 🙂

  16. Shawna

Can you get a meal plan around allergies? Not a common one like peanuts, milk, shellfish and such; but a not as common allergy.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Shawna! GREAT question! Here is what I found on that –
“What if I have an allergy?
We provide allergen information on each recipe detail page, as well as on information cards in your delivery. We recommend reviewing the ingredients in each recipe before placing your order to ensure our meals meet your needs.”

      Hope this helps!

I have a few free boxes loaded to my account right now to give away, but they expire very quickly so you’d need to use them right away. I’d be glad to send one to anyone who wants one of them. I just need the email address where you want it sent. It’s very easy to cancel online without calling if you don’t like it.
