Has anyone done these before? I’m wondering if it’s best to be there right at 9 am, or if we can show-up anytime between 9-12?

    • KAMmommy3

You can go anytime between 9-12. We’ve gone only once (I always end up forgetting about it) and my three girls did a birdhouse. The employees were super friendly the entire time and my girls really enjoyed it.

If you live in a very populated area then go at 9. Otherwise there’s a chance they may run out of supplies.

It really depends on the store. Some stores are strict about sticking to the list of those who registered, and some will just hand them out first come first serve and not look at the list at all.

Make sure to sign up. We’ve shown up at various times and never had trouble but we always sign up. Especially for holiday activities, I’ve heard them turn away kids not on the list. Even siblings.

We have been doing them over the past two years. In our area they don’t check people who register but we do get there early so they don’t run out. Also, we have to bring our aprons each time because once the man in charge realizes you have been there before he refuses to give your child an apron. Twice in 18m we forgot his apron and I just wanted him to use one to keep paint off of his clothes.

You will want to make sure to sign up on their website for the project.

Does anyone know if there is an age limit? Can my 12 & 13 year old join their 5 year old sibling?

    Thank you!

    • eadybakegirl

I’m sure they can I’ve seen much older kids make them.

Anyone take a 2 year old before? He LOVES to “help” build things, thinking he would love this but worried he is to little….

    • Lisa

I took mine. I build it but I let him paint it.

My daughter, who is now 10, has been doing this for almost 5 years. She loves it! We always show up 15 minutes early. Once you complete 5, 10, 25, 50 crafts, you get. Special star pin with the number of crafts you have done.

    • Monkey

How do you get a star pin? They don’t do that in our area.

Awesome thanks for posting! We try to do this frequently. Our 2 1/2 year old daughter loves it! Really great daddy/daughter time for them. They had 2 in November so I’m surprised to see them doing one this weekend! Our HD always gives out a juice and snack too!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How fun! You’re welcome, Suzanne! SO neat that they have given a snack as well! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

Wish I knew about this sooner. 😔
Are they generally schedule it in advance? For example the first Saturday of the month or are they scheduled at random times?

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Usually, it’s the first Saturday of each month, Brenda!

Does anyone have a copy of the sticker sheet so I can see which numbers go to which cube? My little guy jumped a head & now I have stickers every where
