We just got it yesterday and my 7/almost 8yo loves it! He’s the youngest of 4 so unfortunately he likes things that are a little mature for him, so I wasn’t sure what he would think of it. He just kept telling me how much he loved it. Today he didn’t even ask to play PS4, he bypassed that for Adventure Academy. I disabled the chat feature for him and he doesn’t even mind. It is really educational and he loved all of the games he played so far. Today he did a keyboarding game. It was cool.

So happy to hear about your experience, TJ! Sounds like a win-win!

We got it for our 8 year old twins and they love it. We disabled the chat feature I hate that it’s not compatible with their chrome book but we have other devices.

That’s awesome, Janet! Thanks for sharing.

Everyone saying they wished it worked on a chrome book you can hook your chromebook up to your tv and it will work we have been doing this for months all you do is take the HDMI from the xbox or PlayStation and plug it into your chromebook it fixed the screen shrinking problem!!!!!

Oh wow! Thanks a bunch for the helpful tip!

My son (8 years old, 2nd grade, identified as gifted and talented) has been using this February and is obsessed. He loves it so much and got his older cousin (10 years old, 4th grade) playing with him. They FaceTime each other and play while FaceTiming. They talk about the game and sometimes help each other with the “lessons.” I don’t think he’s necessarily learning like he would doing his school program, iReady, but he is learning a lot of math and science concepts. I’ve heard him doing lessons on animals, simple machines, symmetry, and angles.

My opinion as a teacher and parent is that this program is a great balance of work and play. My son isn’t a “gamer” and has no previous video game experience (we don’t even own a gaming system), so maybe that is why he loves it so much. I wouldn’t depend on it for the source of all of your child’s learning, but it is excellent at exposing them to educational concepts while they are playing. My son gets up at 6:30 every morning and works hard to get his school work done so he can “do Adventure Academy.” My husband and I have even had to tell him that he can’t get on until after lunch bc he will rush through his school work and stay on all day if we let him.

Thank you so much for the feedback Becca! It’s great to hear that he loves it!

My 7 y/o daughter has been using it since April and she loves it! She has learned a lot of interesting- mostly science and social studies- type things.

This was nice for the summer. I will say that with the virtual learning, the kids actually felt fatigued of screens in the spring. I don’t think we’ll renew for fall, as we are all virtual again. It was a neat program I’ll say… just may be too much screen time for some kiddos.

My 12 yr old son loves it. He hasn’t asked to play Fortnite or Minecraft since we got Adventure Academy. I honestly thought that he wouldn’t be interested since he is older, but I was wrong.

We tried it and I have mixed feelings. Pros: My 10 year old loved it. You can turn off chat. Company promptly gave me a refund when we ran into problems. Cons: Worked on Chromebook during trial but then quit after update, easy to avoid the educational content, a lot of the game is spent chatting and fixing up your house and doing scavenger hunt type quests, chatting can be turned off but seems to be needed to complete quests

The best price I found for this was a Facebook ad. I paid f45 for 12 months.

I tried this out free at first. Daughter loved it. It worked great. So I purchased the year subscription at $50. That’s when it started acting up. It would load and then freeze. Tried her iPad and my laptop. I emailed the help desk. They said it was our devices. So make sure your device will work before downloading. It would’ve worked on our phones, but I’m not giving my daughter my phone that often to use an app that should’ve worked on my laptop at least.
