What is the Car Seat Trade-in Event?
Target was the first retailer to start the car seat trade-in trend back in 2016, and lucky for Target shoppers – when you bring in an old or expired car seat to Guest Services during set dates, you’ll receive a 20% OFF coupon to redeem on a future purchase of a new car seat, stroller or other select baby gear.
“Target will accept and recycle all types of car seats, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats and car seats that are expired or damaged. Materials from the old car seats will be recycled by Target’s partner, Waste Management.”
When do you think the Car Seat Trade-In Event will happen in 2020?
Last year, the Car Seat Trade-Event ran during the beginning to middle of September, which is National Baby Safety Month. So if they host this event in 2020, we are expecting it to start sometime in September again.
Fun Fact: Did you know that since the program launched, Target has recycled half a million car seats, and counting? Plus, through their trade-in programs, Target has recycled more than 11.9 million pounds of materials, and counting to date!
