thats a great deal! If only they had it in other colors! booooo! lol

    • Melissa

i know! I searched and the orange one is $33.

    • Kelly W.

I agree. I don’t think my twin boys would like the pink LOL!!

  2. Adrianne

How is the V-Smile? We have all Leapfrog stuff and love it, but this is a killer price and I am contemplating getting it… ; )

    • Tiphanie

We have one and it broke after 2 years.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Mine broke after 1yr and we hardly used it. The compony replaced it and the new one did the same thing. There is a way to reset them and you can get it goin again but I have problems with it. My daughter loves it but we can rarely get it to work.

    • dara

my son has had his v smile for 3 years now… this is the older model… the newer model is the v motion… nothing wrong with it, just not as good graphics as the newer things… we love v tech!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My daughter loves hers, and you can get the games cheap off of ebay 🙂

      • Adrianne

Hmm yeah the reviews on Amazon aren’t all that great…I think I may give it a try though…can’t beat that price! Thanks ladies!

        • ashley

I think its not worth it. V-tech is not as educational or as fun as the leapfrog products. My son had one of these and played it maybe once or twice.. it was boring for him.

          • Adrianne

Yeah, I just read through the reviews again, and don’t think I am going to get it now lol. Going to stick with Leapfrog! : )

            • Laura

My kids got aggravated at it everytime they played, I think it would be worth the 13.50 but we paid alot more! I brought it to a resell shop because the kids never played with it.

    • Bridget

My kids never played with it! And I couldn’t even sell it on craigslist. Had to give it away.

    • liz

Mine broke after a year. I have never had a leapster break.

  3. Catherine

I hate toys in pink! I wanted a toddler digital camera earlier this season and it was only available in PINK for the sale price. Poor boys…

    • Mindy

For SOOOO long, they wouldn’t make any toys in PINK, so I am THRILLED that they are finally starting to make the PINK version!!

  4. Daphne

I used to nanny for a family that had this and it never got used. Ds has the newer one the vmotion and it too sits unused. It is a good price and can be fun, but not loved at our home.

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

loving all these amazon deals but im spending way too much lol

  6. Becky

I think its so cheap because its the older model. We have a VSmile VMotion and my 4 year old LOVES it! He has learned so much from it!

  7. April

We still have ours, but it hasn’t been played in years (my D is 6). I believe you have to buy the adapter separately though, if I’m not mistaken. Otherwise it runs on batteries, make sure you want to buy all those batteries or find out how much the adapter costs.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Adapter is $10 @ wal mart and well worth it. I hate when these run on batteries, whatever happened to a good old fashioned plug. The toy companies must be in cahoots with the battery companies…lol

  8. Alison

So does this come with the games pictured?

    • Jo

I was looking into it, I do not think it comes w/ the games….it says smart cartridges sold seperately? Or am I missing something.

  9. Heather

I bought this exact one throu amazon last year for my daughter for Christmas and was VERY VERY DISAPOINTED! I would not suggest buying it, it is terrible quality, horrible sound and graphics. My kids didnt even want to play it. I would agree with most other commenters and stick with Leapfrog:-)

  10. Alyson

I think the price went back up because now it’s say $33 🙁

  11. Bretta Shea

The price is now back up to 36.99 and anyway, I had one for my son last year and something blew up inside of it by the time it was delivered to our house…it had some type of liquid coming out when we took it out of the box…bad quality!

  12. Kristi

Thanks everyone for your comments! REALLY! I was on the fence about getting one of these for my daughters. Glad you shared what you thought – plus, the price is now showing $36.69 so I definately won’t be purchasing it now. Thank you!

  13. Cindy

wow I am surprised to hear so many negative comments my daughter got one when she was 3 and it still works and she is 9! My 4 year old actually has the hand held one and is now playing her old games on that and loves them – he is not bored by them at all and he is already reading and plays the wii at home.

  14. Danielle

I am kinda sad about all of the negative comments because I bought this for my daughter (3 years old) and 4 games when Target had their 75% off toy sale this summer. I am giving it to her for Christmas. I just hope she will play with it to justify spending $25 on it and the games. 🙁

    • Cheryl

I just gave this to my son for his 3rd bday (dec 12) and he wants to play it every day. Yes, the graphics aren’t so fancy but I think it’s fine for now. He likes it. I too got it at the target sale for $9.99 and 5 or 6 games for $4.99 a piece.

    • nicole

Danielle, I did the exact same thing! Picked up a bunch of games and system @ Target over the summer for around $25. My girls are 2 and 3. I might take it out and play with it before Santa gives it to them. They wont know.

      • kristen

My daughter is 4 and loves hers. The graphics are fine for kids, except maybe kids who are already experienced gamers and expect high quality graphics and sound 🙂 And the games are easy to find on clearance at various places.

  15. patti

My kids LOVED the vsmile games but the unit itself broke 3 times. We had the older and newer model. I was so disappointed but something was fishy with this game system.

  16. Amanda C.

Sorry but we have bought 3 of these and they have all broke within a 6 month time period. My son loved it and was so sad each time it broke. Maybe some people are lucky and got a good one but in my opinion, 3 strikes you’re out!!

  17. Blondy

    Price back up FYI.

  18. Shannon

This is the older system, you can’t find games anymore except for MAYBE on clearance.

    • MJ

Wouldn’t that be a GOOD thing finding the game only on clearance? 😉

Anyway, I bought this for my niece. For $13 I’m thrilled if it even lasts 6 months. We aren’t investing in a Wii folks, it’s a cheap game for kids. Other things I’ve bought her that have cost much more haven’t lasted/kept her interest that long.

I consider this a deal and super fun!

    • Elizabeth

The V.Smile cartridges are backwards compatible and vice versa. All the V.Smile Motion games I’ve ever seen in the store state that they work with all Vsmile learning systems. I even checked the Dora V.Smile Motion game on Vtech’s site to be sure and it says “Works with all V.Smile Learning Systems”. Plus ebay has tons of the older Vsmile cartridges really cheap. I got my son Thomas and Friends for $5 shipped and it worked like a charm.

  19. Stacy

I’ve gone through one of these as the handheld and 4 consoles, including the Vmotions. The last one I picked up at Target for $19.99, we still had 18 games that we purchased and it did not work right out the box, AGAIN! What a disappointment.

  20. trinakay

    $36……….

  21. kelly tillotson

price is back up! oh well!

  22. amy

The price has been changed to 33 dollars!! good thing i got to order this at 13.50!!!

  23. Cheryl

We have had two of these units and both have broke within about a year. My mom also has gone through two and the third one is finally lasting a bit longer this time. We do have a handheld one that has worked great. My mom bought the V-Smile Motion for my daughter for Christmas when Target had them for 19.99 (walmart price matched it.). I am really hoping it lasts longer.

  24. melissa

I bought this one on the 13.50 for my kids for christmas I also got 10 games for 12.00 on thredup.com
