Just wanted to make sure people knew that these chips contain “Yeast Extract” and “maltodextrin”, which are code words for MSG. These claim to be healthy and I almost bought them until looking at the ingredient list. Just wanted to throw that out there so people don’t get duped by the “natural” word on their labeling.

As a registered dietician, I have to disagree with you. Maltodextrin and Yeast Extract are not MSG. Maltodextrin is a starch typically used to sweeten things (candy, soda, chips/crackers with sweet savory flavorings). The protein is stripped from the starch, giving maltodextrin no protein, so that anyone with gluten intolerance could eat it. Yeast Extract is often used instead of MSG, as it offers many of the same flavor enhancement of MSG, but without the use of MSG. MSG is monosodiumglutamate which is a completely different substance than the two contained in the popchips. Popchips, as well as all other chips, are a convenience food and should be eaten in moderation. There a few foods in bags that are truly “healthy” for us.

It may not be MSG by name, but by the same chemical compound and side effect. I agree with you about moderation and that nothing healthy comes in a pre-packaged bag.

Did you “subscribe” for auto ship and use the code? Doing both brings it down to the $8.62.
I was new to Amazon when I ordered this deal the last time. My family was not thrilled with their taste. Got an e-mail my “next” shipment has been shipped 😮 I was not aware that this was a “subscription” and that I had to cancel it. Fortunately, I sent them an email since I am unable to return food products, they credited my account.
We didn’t care for these “chips” either. Most of the box is still sitting in our storage room untouched.

as soon as you receive your order, go in and cancel your subscribe and save. I have done this countless times and never had a problem. Just make sure not to forget!!!

I always wait until they are delivered, that way, there is no confusion or problems. I have probably done this with 10 different subscribe and save and it has never been a problem!
Amazon has had some really good grocery deals lately, but the prices change throughout the day so check back randomly! Yesterday I snagged a variety box of nature valley granola bars for 1.35/box! And honey nut cheerios for 1.70/box or something close to that. Love deals I can get in my pj’s.

COLLIN thanks! What a fun thing to get such a deal on a treat. Everything I put into my mouthy is not healthy. German chocolate cake, some vegitables that are actually ‘not’ healthy…but I try. These are healthier than most. And when I get a chip craving these will be perfect WITHOUT grieving that they cost 3.49 per bag…so we HAVE to eat the whole thing now!!!! lol
