I also received the email stating that there had been a technical glitch and I would not receive my order unless I agreed to purchase the cookbook for an additional $27+. I know that some deals are too good to be true and I am usually not one that throws a big fit. Deals work or not but I have had a belly full of these “technical glitches”. These companies should stand behind their errors. I was involved in the California TeaHouse deal that went bad and had a heck of a time cancelling my order when the certificate was taken back. I have decided that when a “technical glitch” occurs and the company is not willing to make some type of concession I am done with that company. From the Taste of Home email it appears that not only will you not receive the measuring cups but you will not receive the free shipping offer either. I feel they should at least honor the free shipping. I replied to the email and canceled my order and will be watching my bank statements closely.
I agree they should at least make some kind of other benefit. It looks bad and unethical of the company itself and from that they may suffer down the road. Too bad!
Will they charge us the $27 and send out the cookbook if we don’t cancel the order?
No, the email states that if you don’t respond within 7 days your order will automatically be canceled. So if you no longer want anything, just don’t respond. You will not automatically be charged for the cookbook. No worries!! 🙂
I received an email saying my order had shipped. It never showed up so I just checked my order status only to find that it had been cancelled! They never sent me any other communication. I love my Taste of Home magazines, but their shopping department makes me sad!
I replied to the e-mail to complain and never received a response. 2 weeks later I sent a follow up e-mail to my first complaint and never heard anything. I have now filed a complain with the BBB and do not ever plan to purchase anything from Taste of Home again. This is horrible customer service to just ignore complaints and not even acknowledge it or even offer the use of the free shipping code. I hope others stop ordering from them as well.
