Anyone know the fat content on the Coconut Manna?I never used coconut oil before but want to know how fattening it is:) thanks
Coconut is actually a good kind of fat. It will not make you fat! Please read the book, “Nourishing Traditions.” Or go to the website, “thehealthyhomeeconomist.com” You will learn a lot! A lot of what the FDA has pushed down our throats is totally wrong! Your brain is made of mostly fat, if you deny your brain of healthy fats, you will get depressed!
thank you Niki
I love thehealthyhomeeconomist.com! We have dropped a ton of weight and feel so much better by eating lots of healthy fats.
Niki is right this is the good source of fat but if you still need the info it can be found here https://nutiva.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Coco-Manna-15oz-Nutritional-Panel.png
Thanks, Colin!!!
coconut manna is not the same as coconut oil and you can’t use them the same way either. coconut oil has been expeller-pressed to remove the coconut fibers and should have a fat content of ~24%. coconut manna or coconut cream concentrate leaves the coconut meat in and should be ~17% fat.
the oil is good for frying but the manna doen’t work so well.
i think this is a good price for the manna. gonna try to get it. thanks, Collin. 🙂
thanks mary
If you sign up for the newsletter, you get a code to get $2.50 off the Manna, not sure if you can stack them and you may want to wait till tomorrow so as to see what the Tuesday deal is.
I tried to see if it would work & you can’t use both offers. It was worth a try!
The Coconut Miracle is another good book! Is everybody getting the same code? My husband went on FB and got the same code I did.
If so, please share! I don’t have a FB account to “like” them but would LOVE to have the coupon!
Sure, FB11FAN-1Z
I use this in smoothies. I add it to the prepackaged yoplait or jamba juice frozen packs and blend with a little agave nectar. I make this whenever I am too lazy to make a meal. Yummy and filling!
I love coconut & was thinking of trying it to put on top of my cereal. I am wondering what the texture is, is it like flakes of coconut? Would you recommend it for using it that way? 🙂
I found a FAQ section so I answered my own questions! 🙂
I bought some coconut oil at our health food store but looked at the back and realized how much saturated fat is in it. I’m going to stick with a non-hydrogenated shortening that has little saturated fat. I don’t have a gall bladder anymore and that stuff I can feel in my gall bladder area.
shortening is much worse for your health than coconut oil! any solid fat is worse than liquid fat.
I agree that shortening is horrible and coconut oil is definitely the way to go. If you have trouble digesting healthy fats just use some digestive enzymes when you eat it. A lot of people who have had their gallbladder removed don’t produce enough of the enzymes to digest fats.
you can also take bile pills! helps alot when you don’t have a gall bladder

FYI-I thought this coconut oil looked familiar. Collin posted a deal a couple of weeks ago through Amazon. The price was $12.15 for the two cans. Right now they are still a better deal on Amazon. The price is $15.38 for TWO 15 oz. cans with Subscribe and Save. I’m glad I ordered it a couple of weeks ago. 🙂
what Collin posted above is for coconut manna; the amazon deal was coconut oil.
I know, I’m just saying if anyone planned on ordering Coconut Oil after reviewing their short list of products, instead of the Manna, like I was, it’s a better deal at Amazon.
True. This also applies for the 54oz jars. Better prices on Amazon.
so excited to try this!!!! was just thinking that i was dangerously low on coconut oil and this sounds like a fun one to try 🙂 thanks!!
Thanks again Collin for yet another great deal! I eat Coconut Manna straight from the jar 🙂 YummE!
