I just came back from PetSmart and was able to use the $8 cat coupon for the $9 bag of cat food but was NOT able to use the $8 dog coupon for a $6 bag of dog food. The cashier said PetSmart was not able to adjust it down or provide overage (I had some cat litter too)…by reading some of the comments it really seems like each PetSmart/cashier/manager has their own policy!
They obviously do since we used the same coupons at the same location in Summerville at Christmas and now we cant. They get reimbursed so it amazes me why they wouldnt today. Although the manager at the location in Summerville is an old grouch who lets his friends do whatever they want.
Thanks so much Collin. I had a great experience and NO problems using the $8.00, $3.00 and the treats coupon for $3.00. Got the overage and just applied it to an additional bag for $2.00 total for 4 bags. Christiana, DE didn’t have much left though even at opening this morning.
Our PetSmart was awesome! They had probably 150 bags all stacked up on a display- I grabbed 13 bags (we have 4 dogs so it won’t last long) and 4 of the big bags of treats that were on sale for $5 (so with the coupon making them $2 which I thought was still good) – 15 cans of the dog food and two big things of shampoo for $24 oop. Used all sorts of coupons and they allowed the overage for the $8 coupon to the other items.. I figured since I would buy it anyway that buying 58.5 pounds of dog food plus the treats and everything else I was saving a lot anyway so used the $5 petco coupon as well as the $3 printables to get it all. I think the total before coupons was $145 and I paid $24. Not a bad day! The workers were all so excited!
Petsmart in missouri city tx had to adjust the $8 coupon down to $6.
They said they got an email about it. I didn’t buy too much but there wasn’t that much left at the store in terms of dog food.

I printed them, but had a difficult time finding them. I had to go through a “pet registration” process, which I stumbled upon. It let me print two of each coupon. I am heading off to Pet Smart tomorrow. I don’t really need dog food because my son is a vet tech and just got me a great deal on IAMS through his work…..but FREE dog food, I can’t pass up that one. Also there is a form for a rebate for Ideal Balance Science Diet for up to $12.99….There’s more free dog food!!

I just came back and used all the coupons except for the canned food (printed twice) I got the cat food also so 2 bags of treats, 2 bags of cat food and 6 bags of the dog food. I also got 3 bottles of clearanced kong shampoo and wipes that were $1.17 a bottle, my total was $14.xx all together. Great deal considering the bags of food retailed for $12.99 I think each.

If you don’t have a pet consider doing the deal and passing on the food to a local animal shelter. With the economy being so tight these shelters can really use your help!
Would have loved to Mary which is what my daughter and I do with all we buy there but the two older managers on duty at the time decided to be not customer friendly and be mean about it. I was not the only one they chased away so they either misunderstood the ad to drop the coupon down to the cost of the bag or they decided to be mean, as most times they are. I always liked this Pet Smart and I dont want to take these two rude management staff to take down the rest of the staff. The one manager in Summerville who is tall with dark hair has always been polite to us and greeted our boxer. The other two need to retire if they cant handle the public. Trust me we may end up spending more at another high end pet store but it has to be and its sad because I am working with some high end animal groups in NC and SC and plan to start a business where we need to start purchasing a lot of pet food. Again their loss and this isnt the first wrong treatment we have gotten there. Amazon has cheaper deals anyhow.

I can’t either, even registered and can’t find it. The links to both the cat and dog new owner where it shows the coupon just takes you to a dead page. SIGH…
I went to my Petsmart today and grabbed 4 bags of dog food and 4 bags of cat food, when I got to the register and handed the cashier my coupons she told me that she couldn’t accept them because they said coupons.com on them, even though I printed them through the site. So I was bummed that they didn’t take them and I didn’t get the deal. I was reading through the coupon policy and from the sounds of it there should be no reason they shouldn’t have.
My Petsmart told me the same thing. They tried to explain it this way…if it says Coupons.com that means its a 3rd party coupon and Petsmart doesn’t accept them. I explained I got the coupons from Hills website. They didn’t care. I ended up using the coupons at Care A Lot pet supply. Cost me a little more but I didn’t mind since I was dropping them off at our local SPCA anyways.
Is the $3 treat coupon gone?
Went today & got 4 bags of the ideal balance dog food, 2 bags of treats & 3 cans of Wellness canned food for $7 (incl. a $1 donation for homeless pets) 🙂
I also had a problem in Cape Coral, Florida. The manager said that they would not accept coupons from a third party site even though I went through the Hills site. That there were many fraudulent coupons out there. He made me feel like i was a criminal. Then he said that he would allow the cashier to accept just one. Big of him, huh? I opted for the $8.00 one. No brainer there. I have written to PetSmart and am awaiting a response. Meanwhile, I have printed out the coupon policy and will go back. It’s the principle of the thing.
I also had two Royal Canin coupons for $4.00 off a product that is selling for $3.99. He read the statement about ‘Limit one coupon per purchase on products(s) indicated’ and said that I could have only bought one anyway. I explained that it didn’t say one per transaction and that it meant one coupon per product. Since I had two coupons, it would allow me to get two products. I almost felt like I was at Walmart with their suspicious cashiers.
So what’s the truth??
I also printed the coupon policy and am planning to go back. I didn’t email PetSmart but I did email Science Diet to see if since the store would not accept them if they might have another way to print them without the coupons.com logo. It did make me feel like a criminal, and that’s when I get discouraged with couponing.
I had no issues at all using the coupons.
I’m in So Cali and had no problems at either of the 2 Pets Marts I went to. I got 8 bags of food and 4 bags of treats. I made two purchases and I used 2 $8, 1 $3 and the coupon from Petco for $5 for each transaction. I only had to pay tax- $3.89 for everything! Plus a free bag from the rebate, and with the extra $3 coupons paired with the $5 petco, I should be able to get another 3-4 bags. My husband is a firm coupon believer now, he was shocked when they rang it up- and that is priceless!
Apparently “cupons.com” that is the place where you are taken for the coupons is under maintenance. I hope it will allow me to download the cupons tomorrow, today was going all the time to a page under maintenance… 🙁
I too was made out to feel I was a criminal. The store manager said those are fraudulent coupons, I said excuse me I am not a criminal and had to register a valid email with this coupon and do not go around stealing from stores free dog food. I was so mad, planning on calling Petsmart Monday morning as they are not open on the weekend. I was so upset glad I do not get embarrased so easy. Just mad at the fact the manager was so rude!

Yeah, same thing happened to me yesterday.. so I went to another petsmart… but this one accused me of making copies. I was pretty pissed off. The reason why some were colored and others werent was because I had used a friend’s printer to print them out.
I have been made to feel this way with other coupons before b/c I have a black and white printer and sometimes also use my mom’s color printer. If you look closely at the number under the top-right corner barcode, the last four digits of every valid/uncopied coupon are different. Maybe you can point that out next time.

hills should be open tomorrow. Hopefully they will fix something about this “fradulant” coupon. We gave away some hills coupons that we weren’t using to some people who bought science diet, and the cashier didn’t take them. I feel terrible for what happened. I was just trying to be nice but in the end made them feel like criminals. =[
When I went to PetSmart today I asked to make sure they still accepted MC and the man I talked to said yes but not to black and white ones because they were photocopied. I politely pointed to the spot on the coupon where it said: RETAILER: This coupon may appear in black and white….it said something else too but I can’t remember. After showing him that and politely explaining that not everyone has a color printer he said they would be accepted. Try that next time.
thanks Shelly I will email too, I want to talk to a live person. I had two coupons because my mother in law has a dog and I have a dog too. No counterfeit coupons here. LOL! The man said there were 4 incidences where the store lost lots of money because of the fraud. This girl is no criminal. It was how he treated me with a line of people that made me so upset.
Never underestimate the consumer power we have, I called corporate and received a phone call from the store manager the next day at the store that was so rude to me and I was able to get the dog food and use my coupons at the sale price and received a personal apology from corporate and from the store.

In Jacksonville NC they adjusted the 8$ coupon down to 6 and also the wet food they adjusted but over all I still think I did pretty good, we got 5 bags of food 6 cans of wet food and 2 bags of treats for 19$. Considering how expensive the food is normally these coupons and the deal at Petsmart are a great help!
I was really surprised at how well my trip to Petsmart went! They were awesome! I got 9 bags of dog food, 4 bags of cat food & 4 bags of dog treats (total product $173.00). After coupons = FREE!!!! The employees were wonderful & were thrilled to see it zero out. All the dog stuff will go to the Enfield Food Shelf for the clients who have dogs. My brother-in-law works at our local Petsmart and I asked him about this and he said that there should be no problem with using any of these Science Diet coupons. Just wanted to share!
Well Sierra our location obviously make their own rules and didnt get that memo! They said no, its ok they just lost a customer cause this husband and wife who manage sometimes are not nice and need attitude adjustments anyhow. I like Pet Smart but if they want to treat us like that there are competitors we can use. My daughter spends at least $500 there on shelter animals. Their loss…..
i had a terrible experience today me and my husband both went in and got a bag of puppy food a nd a thing of treat we have just accuired 2 puppies one for us and one for my brother who lives down stairs from us we went to do seperate transaction an the manager stated that was not aloud because supposeable science hill sent them emails stating the coupons were fradulant and anythign over 1 coupoons per family was fraud i ended up getting one set and will be sending my brother back tomorrow but i still dont see how they can do that when we were buying them seperate. When ever i try to use coupons there they always give me a hard time

I went today got four bags of dog food and two bags of treats. They took all my coupons (although the sales person went and asked someone about my coupons). I used $24.00 in coupons and gave me overage. i tried to get additional coupons through someone else’s computer under their name and can’t figure out how I got them to print last night. Last time I registered my pet and coupons came up. When i tried to help someone do it today the coupons never came up…What gives?? Once again I am only seeing the rebate form….HELP PLEASE
Hi- is there anyway we can find out if any of these coupons or the linked sites are fraudulent? There are many comments on other sites too that indicate that Hills says they did not originate from them. I called Pet Smart and talked to them and they said they had been inundated with calls. They are to get back with me in three to five days. Hills was not open, but I put in an email to them. Actually went directly to their site too and these coupons were available. Why the inconsistency with Pet Smart — never had trouble before with any other manufacturer coupons including Hills?

I got mine off the Hills website last night….Although when I tried to help a friend get come today I could not get the coupons to come up. I used mine today without any issues.
Tried again to go thru registration process. It lets me fill in info, but doesn’t seem to go through….very confused.

Just tried to get the Coupons from the Hills site. I registered and filled out all the info and then when I clicked on Get Coupon, it said the program was no longer available. Then it redirected me back to Hills website where it said Enjoy your $22 in coupon savings. I hate when sites do that!
I had the same problem. I don’t like it either when they are advertising something then you can’t get it. I would have rather seen. Sorry this promotion has ended from the beginning.
Better inform Summerville,SC location of the acceptance of Internet coupons as they were very rude about it to us on Sunday.
And I told the guy to keep the coupon since we couldnt use it and now I am not able to print any.
I went yesterday to Central Cali Petsmart and it was awesome! they were almost out of the $6 bags but there were still a few left! i was able to get
2 bags of Science diet dry dog food ($6 ea)
2 bags of Science diet cat food ($8 ea)
2 bags of Science Diet dog treats ($3 ea)
Cashier asked the manager after closely inspecting my coupons if she could “take all in a single transaction.” He said yes since they’ve been doing it all weekend anyway. Cashier must have asked him 5 more times if he was sure but they took them.
i spoke with the company hills my self and pet smart today i was informed the reason pet smart is to no longer take the coupons is because the coupons were suppose to be one per person that is y they only allow you to print once and some people have been using 5+ of the same coupon. which isnt fair to people who want to use 1 or 2 of them i have been informed its only the dog food coupon that they no longer except they will still except the cat food and the treats i even tryed to purchase a 10 dollar bag of food and was told no my pet smart even had an email printed and posted in the dog food aisle from hills stating to no longer except this coupons that is also why they have been pulled from the site. I asked them to mail me coupons so that i can avoiid this problem in the future. I have actually found this to be happening with alot of on line coupons lately due to people using excessive amounts :/ which is very sad
Oh, yeah! This is slightly off-topic, but that IAMS deal at Target a few weeks back? I had four coupons and was planning to get four bags to donate to our local shelter. Instead, every Target was wiped out by Sunday afternoon (the same day the sale started). Then I stumbled on a local Craigslist ad for the same IAMS food (trial size) a week or so later. Someone was advertising that they had 70-plus bags that they were SELLING! I know this happens a lot, but…argh! How many shelters might have benefitted from other couponers’ donations had this greedy individual not bought up every bag to line his or her own pocket?

I had a bad experience today too and I wasn’t even attempting to use the overage to score free bags. Somehow I had a feeling it wasn’t going to work so all of my bags were more than the coupon value. I, like others who posted, also got treated like a criminal and accused of coping them, even though they were all in color. My ink was running out so some were faded and only had blue as my red was kaput. I’m not sure how they figured I copied them with just the blue still printing in color.
I had an awesome trip and all of my printable coupons worked! I used the $8 and (2) $3 off bags of dry dog food. However, we did decide to use the $8 off of a big bag that was on sale for $34. I also used the $3 off of dog treats, which were $5 on sale, so only $2! Then I realized (lol) I had another 4 manufacturer coupons that I clipped $3 off of the dry Science Diet dog food again – so I got 6 bags for $18. And I had coupons “get 3 free cans of canned dog food for any bag purchased,” which scored 12 cans FREE – to donate!

Well after reading all the (bad) comments regarding PetSmart (I encountered a rude manager there last month), I called PetCo and asked if they do price-matching and he said they did. I had to drive a few more miles down the road and ended up paying a few dollars OOP, but the manager and cashiers were awesome! I got 4 bags of dogfood and 3 cans of wet food for about $4 and then I got the Arm & Hammer Ultra cat litter for $9 and will send in for the $9 rebate 🙂 I didn’t have the PetSmart ad (he had already seen the ad for the food) for the treats, but they were $4.50, so I paid $1.50 X 2 for the treats. I didn’t mind since he was very nice and patient. I also bought a huge bag of cat food for $33 (UGH!) but that’s the only kind that does well with my kitty.
I too ended up at Petco the next day and the girl waiting on us was real nice. I said your sign says you match competitors prices so the price for this food at Pet Smart you will match and she said yep. I showed her my coupon and she said and we will take that too. We ended up with our free bag of dog food before the deal ended. I am happy to say I have never had a bad experience at Petco its just for our location its a drive. From this point forward we will drive to be able to be treated as we should, returning, paying customers. Thanks Petco on Rivers for making our experience a positive one!
