WooHoo! Reader, Krista, emailed to let me know about a *HOT* unadvertised Extra buck deal on Special K products at CVS!  It appears that whenever you buy 3 participating Special K products, you’ll get a $4 Ecb back AND that the limit for this deal is more than 1! 😀

Come back to let us know if it works for you too!

Can someone please try the bars and let me know !
I wanna do this deal ASAP !!

    • Rebeca

Yes, I also want to know, thank you in advance hipsters! 🙂

    • Julie

The bars worked for me! 🙂

  2. mel

my store had it signed running the month of April, with a limit of 5!

    • mel

I didn’t notice if the bars were tagged, only on the cereal.

  3. jc

Can we use the $1/3 any Kelloggs cereal coupon in RP 3/4?

    • Cathy

Yep! I bought 3 different kinds of special K cereal and they were all over the 10oz minimum so I used the RP coupon. Happy shopping!

  4. steph

You can see my trip to cvs here https://www.bargainfun.net/2012/04/cvs-trip.html, I did get an iphone accessory kit on clearance for 5.00. They also had the wuggle pets on clearance great for Easter basket. I’ll check out the special k next trip

  5. karen

Can we use the 4/4 Kelloggs IP and buy 4? That would make it 6 dollars before the ecbs…2 after.

  6. Kris

Yes, jc, I did and it worked!

    • Erin

Didn’t the $4/4 specify particular varieties it was good for? I thought it was only good for corn flakes, rice krispies, and a couple others.

    • jc

Thank you! Going there now! Love Special K.

      • Jay

Lol how does one justify using that coupon on an item clearly not eligible?

        • 1234

her question was #3, talking about a different coupon.

        • Rachel

jc was not the poster who asked about the $4/4

        • jc

You must have misread my comment. I asked about the $1/3 any Kelloggs coupon in the RP 3/4 insert. It is eligible on the Kelloggs Special K. Thanks to the other hip2savers for clarifying this for Jay.

          • Michelle

The thread shows you replying to a different post regarding the $4/4 coupon. He just assumed you were the person posting the original question. Honestly, I thought the same thing when I read it.

        • karen

Jay..that is why it was a question and not a statement. I did not have the coupon on hand to read. Thanks for answering in a tactful and friendly way.

          • Michelle

Karen- Jay wasn’t replying to you, he was replying to jc who said she was going to go after someone said the coupon was ineligible. In reality, jc was responding to a completely different comment regarding the $1/3 coupon.

            • Kris

Oops. I added to the confusion. Still learning this comments system. I should have used the reply button to respond to JC’s orginal question about the $3/1 RP Q, not as a new comment. Since my reply ended up after the ? on the $4 off 4 ip Q, it made it look like I was talking about that coupon (which I wasn’t). Sorry!

  7. Janell

I like Collins Hip2Spend, just noticed it! HAHAHA

  8. Ebony Cullars

I can’t wait to do this deal tomorrow ! 🙂

  9. Elizabeth

Won’t this scenario be cheaper for scenario #2?
    Buy 6 boxes cereal 2/$5
Buy 2 packages of bars 2/$5
    Total = $20
    Use 2 $1/3 cereal coupons
    Use 2 $0.75/1 bar coupons
    Pay $16.50
Get back 2 $4 Ecb’s plus $5 in Savings Star account
Final cost $3.50 for all 8 items or just $0.44 each.

I am new to Savings Star – does the $20 spent have to be after coupons instead of before? Maybe that is the difference.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oops, you’re right! That’s an even sweeter deal! 🙂

      • MH

IT looks like it will get even better, (I have to try this later today to see, but according to receipt it should work). I did all the above (in 3 separate transactions), but should have bought a 4th box of cereal or another box of of bars. The bottom of my receipt says taht I need 1 more (since it is in groups of 3 kellogg’s items and I bought 8) to receive 4 ECB back. Looks like it does not have to be in same transaction thus. (nor does savings star) That would make it:
        7 boxes of cereal 2/$5
        2 boxes of bars 2/$5
        Total $22.50
        Use 2 $1/3 coupon
        Use 2 $0.75/1 bar coupon
        Pay $16.50
Get back 3 $4 ECB’s plus $5 in Savings Star account
        Final cost 50 cent moneymaker!!!

PS the Savings Star is keeping a tally before coupons.

        • MH

oops. meant total out of pocket is $19. That actually makes the Total $2 after coupons or 22 cents each.

        • BROOKE

I DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS PLS BREAK DOWN FOR ME

  10. Maria

I just picked up 3 boxes and also recieved the 4 extra care bucks! Awesome deal. I was going to get more but the lady acted like I had reached the limit. =( Is that true?

    • Nicole

your receipt should tell you, check under this week’s extracare offers

    • Maria

Oh, and I forgot to mention that some of the boxes I picked up had coupons for a variety of Special Kproducts on the back. =) Might help anyone doing the 20 dollar offer from savingsstar…..

  11. adyxbeauty09

Just tried the deal unfortunately it only printed out $4 in ECBs even though i bought six boxes in one transaction. Still a good deal though!

    • amy

what did it say on the bottom of your receipt?

      • adyxbeauty09

        Buy 3 Get 4 EB
        Quant toward this reward 3
Quant needed to earn reward 3

        • amy

then shouldn’t you get another one?

          • Lindsay

Same thing just happened to me. I bought 6 boxes, and only got 1 $4 ecb? And my reciept says the same thing:
            Buy 3 Get 4 EB
            Quant toward this reward 3
Quant needed to earn reward 3

I wonder if the limit was 1???

Still a good deals I used a $4/$20 and got 6 boxes and a clean and clear face wash for $4.07 oop.

    • Kelsey

I’ve done the deal 3 times and still haven’t reached the limit. It won’t work if you try to buy more than 3 at a time.

  12. adyxbeauty09

Just tried the deal unfortunately i only got 4 ECBS even though I bought 6 boxes in one transaction…still a great deal though!

    • Annie

Same here 🙁 does it make a difference if we do the transaction separately?

      • Michelle

I got a $4 ECB each time when I did it separately. I did them separately because I wanted to make sure the ECB was printing at all. Guess I got lucky 🙂

      • adyxbeauty09

I’m thinking that it does b/c it seems to be working fine for everyone else who are buying three at a time

    • Marnie

I ALSO DID IT SEPERATELY AND GOT $4ECB BACK BOTH TIMES

  13. Kris

I did 2 transactions of 3 boxes each time and got $4 ECB for both transactions. My receipt still doesn’t show the offer limit as being reached.

    • Maria

Thanks for sharing. I might just have to go back!

Does anyone know if they are meaning for the ecb to print or is it a mistake? Just curious! I hope it was a planned thing. I just never knew they did unadvertised deals like that!

      • Nicole

they have monthly deals that are usually only advertised in one week’s ad or sometimes none of them, even though the deal runs the entire month… they used to have a separate sheet that listed all the deals in store next to the ads but they stopped making them a while ago

        • Maria

Thanks for explaining! I just felt a little bad because I felt like the cashier thought something wasn’t right about the deal. Now that I know it’s okay I won’t worry if I go back. Everyone is so helpful on this site. What a blessing! Thanks again!

  14. Michelle

The coupon is only for the granola bars and they aren’t on sale 2/$5, but the other special K cereal bars are. The granola bars were $2.87 at my store. They only carried one kind and only had three boxes so I couldn’t try the deal.
I did 2 transactions of Special K with 3 boxes in each transaction and got $4 ECB each time.

  15. amy

    I bought 6, will a $8 ecb print out?

    • Ana

      yes

      • mel

no, you have to buy 3 per transaction otherwise only a $4 ECB will print. I’ve noticed this only happens with the monthly deals. If you buy more than the quantity (even though the sign might have a different limit), only one ECB value will print.

  16. Jeanie

Anyone know how big the boxes are? Great deal regardless, just wondering. 🙂

    • Maria

      12.8 oz =)

      • Jeanie

        Thanks Maria. 🙂

  17. Michelle

Thank you so much for posting this deal. I only eat Special K and Kashi and was down to 2 boxes of Special K. I have been looking for deals for MONTHS.

  18. Megan

Don’t know if you can find these at CVS, but at Wal Mart, I was able to buy Special K cereal that had peelies for a free protein product up to $6.99 value when you buy two boxes of Special K cereal!! That would make this deal even sweeter!!

  19. Julie

hi all! i just bought the special k BARS and it worked towards this reward!! just letting everyone know. I only bought two since I didn’t know about the deal but it printed at the bottom of my receipt if I buy one more I will get $4 EB. I will be sure to go back soon! I am in Miami, FL if for some reason this unadvertised deal is different based on region.

    • Pat

      How much are the bars?

      • Michelle

$2.78 at my CVS (Madison, WI). I double checked to make sure they weren’t 2/$5.

        • heather

do you go to the new one on mineral point? I can NEVER seem to find anything there…the shelves are always cleared:(

          • Michelle

Yes I do. They don’t have a very good stock. I usually go pretty early Sunday, but they were out of the free contact solution by Sunday night when I went to get the Special K. Since they actually enforce their limits (unlike Wags) I thought they might have some left, but I guess not.

      • Julie

they were $2.50 each for me

        • Michelle

The granola bars or the cereal bars? I was talking about the granola bars, because that’s what the coupon is for, but I guess I should have said that. The cereal bars were 2/$5.

    • Rebeca

      Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  20. Carmen

Has anyone tried this deal with the bars yet? Did the $4 ECB print for them?

  21. Tammy

I just did this deal in Georgetown, Ky. But I only received one $4 ECBs although I bought 6 boxes of cereal. I was ready for bed, but went back out because this is my daughter’s favorite cereal! I think I’ll take my receipt back & ask about it. My CVS is great and the staff are awesome. Thanks for the tip, Collin!

  22. rebate queen

When I log in at the Kellogg’s site, the coupons disappear?? I’ve tried logging out and they show back up, then I log in again, and they disappear 🙁 ??

    • Kim

I can’t get the coupon either.

      • Shanna

Same here. I thought it was just me.

        • Nichole B

Yep same here. I wonder if they have reached a print limit. Bummer, I was looking forward to doing this deal today.

    • Rebeca

      Same here 🙁

      • Sharky

        same here too 🙁

  23. Eloisa H.

I went this morning and the cashier refused to take my IP coupons, she said that from now on I had to bring the entire sheet in which were they printed. I never had problems with CVS. This is true?

    • Yoko

This does not make sense… You can print up to 3 coupons in one sheet of paper. What’s the purpose of doing that way? Sounds like she or the store is making own coupon rule.

  24. Monica

I went this morning, and I did 3 separate transactions to ensure I got my register rewards. I got 9 boxes in total, which is $22.50 – (3)$1 off 3= $19.50. But then you get $12 in rewards from the 3 separate transactions, plus include the $5 Savings Star, and your final cost is $2.50 for 9 boxes of cereal, or .28 a box.

Just another scenario to consider 🙂

    • Monica

Oops, I meant to say ExtraBucks, not Register Rewards 🙂

      • Leslie

        I did the same….Great Deal!!!

  25. Elizabeth

I bought two boxes of the granola bars and one box of the cereal bars in one transaction. The ECB didn’t print though and it said that I had purchased 1 item towards the reward. Has anyone else run into the granola bars not counting towards the reward? The granola bars at my store in MD were $2.99 and the other bars were $2.50. Thanks of any input!

    • Elizabeth

I should also add that I bought 6 boxes of cereal in two seperate transactions and had the $4 ECB print out twice. Also, I found some boxes of cereal that had CVS coupons on them.

Some of the Vanilla Almond boxes had three CVS coupons (exp 11/28/12) on them:
$1 off any one package of Kellogg’s Special K Protein Meal or Bars,
$1 off two packages of Special K cracker chips or crakers
$1 off two packages of Special K cereal bars

I plan on going back to the store to return the two boxes of granola bars I purchased and buy two boxes of the cereal bars using the $1.00 off coupon instead so I can get my $4 ECB to print.

      • Leslie

I bought 2 granola bars and 1 cereal bar in 1 transaction as well. The granola apparently doesn’t count towards the ECB. Gonna go back and buy 2 more cereal bars to get the $4 ECB.

  26. Crystal

no more special k q’s i logged in to my kellogg acct and it didn’t show any! POO!

  27. Monica

The should be a $1 off 3 for Kelloggs Cereal in the RP from 3/3. It says for any Kelloggs Ceral even though it does not picture Special K, the store should honor it. Can not hurt to try. Good Luck!

  28. mary

I used the $1/3 rp Q and got $4ecb back. im in south fl

  29. Alan

The Kellogg’s coupon works now. I logged into the site and was able to select the $1 off 3 Kellogg’s Special K cereal coupon

  30. Kee Tee

I WAS able to print the coupon in firefox about 2 minutes ago.

  31. reemcha

    coupons are working finally!!

  32. Casey O

just bought 2 vanilla almond cereals and 1 granola cereal and got my 4 ECB. Thanks!

  33. Bre

I can not get these darn things to print. My computer keeps wanting me to install the coupon printer even though it is already installed. I tried firefox and it does not work either. What a pain.

  34. Jo-Ann

Thank you! Used $1 off 3 RP coupon, bought 3 cereal, received $4 ECB in NorCal.

  35. Toni S.

Does anyone know which varieties of Special K are producing the ECBs. This morning I bought 3 Berry and 3 fruit and yogurt and only received $4 in ECBs. I returned 3 ( 2 of one variety and 1 of the other variety) and bought them again. I received no ECBs. Evidently some varieties are not working. I would appreciate any help figuring out which one isn’t working. Thanks.

    • mel

I bought 6 boxes of Special K Red Berry, 3 per transx b/c of the replies that said they didn’t get an $8 ECB when they bought 6. Anyway, I did get the $4 ECB each time. did you look on your receipt to see what it says for the deal? Mine shows –

      Kellogg’s, Buy 3 Get $4 ECB
      Quantity Towards Reward 6
Quantity Needed to Earn Reward 3

      • Toni S.

When I bought 6, it said:

        Quantity towards reward 3
Quantity needed to earn reward 3

It did not say limit reached, so I thought if I bought them in separate transactions I would be OK. That’s why I thought some varieties must not be working when I still didn’t get the ECBs. Thanks for the help!

    • Michelle

I bought Fruit and Yogurt and got the ECBs. I did 2 transactions with 3 boxes each.

  36. Ari

Worked! Thanks so much! Our house loves Special K Berry 🙂

  37. Nicole

I did 3 separate transactions and got $4 in extrabucks every time. My question is, since I used $1/3 coupons, will it report that I spent the $7.50 or the $6.50 to SavingStar? If so, I may need to do one more transaction to get to my $20 total 🙁

    • mel

$7.50 will get tallied. I had a coupon for a Free Box of Kellogg’s cereal I used a few weeks ago (problem with a box of Eggo’s) anyway, the full $5.xx got credited to Savingstar!

      • Nicole

        thank you!

  38. Kelsey

There’s also a coupon on coupons.com for $1/2 of the cereal bars. the .75/1 coupon is for the granola bars, not the regular cereal bars. I’m not sure if the granola bars are working for the deal or not, but they aren’t part of the 2/$5 sale.

  39. Amber

So does savingstar track how much you spend till you reach the $20 or does it have to be in 1 transaction?

    • mel

yes, it tracks. I have $5.59 towards $20. The $15 I bought today will put me over, but it does take a few days for it to credit on SavingStar.

      • mel

should add, the $5.59 was a box I purchased a few weeks ago.

  40. Anne Marie

Thank you! My husband really likes this cereal and it can be challenging to find it for a good price. I bought 3 boxes of the red berry cereal this evening in Central Indiana.

  41. Denise

U will not get more than one ecb if u try to buy 6 boxes. U have to buy 3 at a time. Also I combined this with 4 allegras and got some overage from it towards the special k. Just got back from Cvs now!!! Amazing deal!

  42. kris

does the regular special K work or only the flavored ones?

    • Mandy

      They both worked for me!

  43. Angela R

I just did the deal three times – 2x with 3 boxes of cereal each and once with 2 boxes of cereal bars and a box of cereal – worked every time! 🙂

  44. kt

Are the protein Meal Bars part of this deal? or just the cereal bars?

  45. Laura

Anyone else have the coupons disappear once you log in to Kellogs to print them? When I first bring up the page it shows them, but once logged in there are no coupons at all?

  46. kris

has anyone tried buying the special k chips?? for this deal if this is i’m stocking up bigtime!!!

  47. Marissa

RepHresh Coupons Help! I think that the previous coupon was in a pdf format (it’s no longer available) but doesn’t expire till june. I was wondering if anyone had this and would be willing to email it to me? THANK YOU!

  48. cvsmomma

Has anyone tried it today or yesterday I want to know if the deal is still on! 🙂

  49. nicole

This so did not work for me today. The regular special k was labeled 2/5 but rang up at 3.99. the cashier said it was a mis-label, but gave me the 2.50 price but there was no extrabuck at all. Crud.
