Does anyone, by chance, know where can I find cheap moving boxes online?

    • Dina

Moving boxes as in you just need boxes to pack your stuff in to move from 1 place to another? If that is the case you can call your local grocery store and they will save you their boxes and you can pick them up. My sister has done that often (she moves a lot).

Can you give some specific stores?(Walmart, Target…????)

Honestly, I have on severaly occastions went to different stores like small mom and pop stores or convienient stores and most of the time you can ask the people inside if its okay 1st but you can find great boxes in the dumpsters!! I know that sounds gross but actually you don’t have to dig into the nastyness theres great boxes right on top and if they’ve been broken down you can fix that with some shipping tape. Also, $ store are a great place. I live in the country and this is how I always get boxes!! 🙂 Alot of the time like the previous post sugguested you can always call and ask if there are any available or what days they put up stock these are the days you can hit jackpot!! Especially, for the smaller stores and they are FREE!! 🙂 Good luck Steven!!

Steven: theres many options to find great boxes without spending a dime!! 🙂 Even checking at the local recycle center this is also a great way to get some boxes. Call ahead and they are usually very happy to help!

      HI Steven
I moved recently and the best boxes we got were from bjs store , they were really durable and ofcourse few from walmart too. Walmart Customer guys told us to be at the store around 10 in the night thats when they have plenty of boxes.During the day there r less chances of getting the boxes . Hope this helps .
      Happy Moving .Reduce.Reuse.Recycle.

I know its better to get them free, but if you are in a real bind and you can’t wait to find free ones, Home Depot sells moving boxes for fairly cheap. They are pretty well made and they come in different sizes, they range from $.69 cents to $1.97. Good luck.

If you have a local hardware store you could ask them. They always have big size boxes.

DG, FD, Auto stores have heavy duty oil boxes, great for heavy books n such, liquior stores, once again heavy duty boxes good for glass kitchen dishes. Dont 4get to call ahead , find whats the best days to get the boxes and ask to not have them broken down, unless you want them that way. just a few ideals. good luck with your moving…

If you’re in N.C. or S.C., don’t bother because they don’t sell them. Search for where to buy before filling out the form and printing. Looks like GA, DE, NJ and MD are east coast states with retailers. But make sure they’re close enough to you. Just a heads up.
