Can also price match this at Walmart and use the same coupons!!
You can price match but it wont be the same price! Walmart does not do saving star!
mine wouldn’t let me price match CBS because the ads say “with card”
I recommend you print out Walmart Price Ad Match Guarantee Policy. It states:
“We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*
Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
Competitors’ ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)”
Preferred Shopping card prices is with card 🙂
Wow..Im so gunna do that! They also told me no overage! When I printed it out they ended up paying me $25
At my Walmart, they just asked to see my card.
What is a Star Savings Account? Is it coupons you can print? How would you get $ from it?
I mean Saving Star Account…
Just sign up at savingstar(dot)com. Once you reach at least $5 you have a choice of how to get/use that money. I always choose Amazon gift cards!
I tried the Savings star account a few months ago when I saw a deal posted on here about Special K products, Spend $20 ( I think?) and get money added into your savingstar account. I purchased the items at CVS and made sure the right card number was loaded into my account and still didn’t recieve anything. Can anyone talk me through what I am possibly doing wrong?
The money doesn’t get posted immediately. It might take a month or so before it happens. But, if you did everything it said, you will get the $ amount in your account.
@ Lauren- I signed up for savings star for that same Special K promotion. I never did get the $5 posted to my account. After I waited the 30 days- as posted on their website- I contacted them form help via email. They cleared it up for me, as I kept my receipts and I was able to scan them and send them via email. They were very helpful.
Thanks for the advice, because I have a feeling one I just did at Harris Teeter won’t be posting since they’ve typically posted right away and this hasn’t.
Hi all – Josh from SavingStar here. Please note that most purchases post to your account within 2-17 days. There are a few stores that could take up to 30 days. We’re always happy to look into your account and make sure everything is working. Just go to our “contact us” page to send an email. Thanks for using SavingStar!
I have a question and I know it’s off the topic, but I don’t know where else to ask this. How come on these Extreme Couponing episodes the people NEVER pay taxes on their purchases? Every receipt I get I ALWAYS have to pay 7% before coupons are applied no matter what. If they spent $1,000 I would think they would be paying at least $60+ in taxes. So how do they get it down to like $1? That has never happened to me because of taxes.
Dawn, each state had it’s own law regarding coupon tax. It sounds like you live in a state that requires you to pay tax on the pre-coupon total. Other states may only require people to pay tax after all coupons and discounts have been taken off.
I know that where I live (Missouri) if I have a coupon that makes something free I don’t pay anything out of pocket, or I pay tax on whatever the total is after coupons, but if I go over to the Kansas side of Kansas City I have to pay pre-coupon sales tax even if it is free so it definitely depends on the state you live in.
We pay 7.975% here in Ca and our prices are always higher than posted on here. Ugh 🙁 and we have no double coupons stores except Kmart with a limit of 5 coupons after u spend 25.00 so I dont go there. But thanks to Collin and team I have saved a lot…………….Years ago we used to get free cereal with our double coupons:)
I can beat you….
No double coupons anywhere here
Tax is 9.75%-10.75%
Must pay tax on pre-coupon price
Can anyone guess where I live? 😉
Louisiana?! Thats about what I pay here ! :/
Chicago? That’s about what we pay here.
TN
Thank you for your comments, I didn’t know it was determined by the state you live in.
Also many states do not charge tax on food purchases.
I live in Ohio and we don’t pay tax on food purchases…and they consider candy food but they tax Coke and Pepsi-I was gonna say “pop” but I know that is a regional term most people don’t use.
I’m in VA and I say POP. 🙂
I’m in VA, from Ohio and I sometimes say pop, but most people here don’t and don’t even know what I’m talking about when I say it 🙂
It comes from the two words soda pop, when they had soda fountains which was before my time. Thank goodness I’m not too old for something.
I’ve tried to use a yogurt printed Q and a star savings Q and I don’t get the star savings deal if the Qs both say buy 6 (at Big Y.) But it works if I use printed Q that says buy 8, and the star savings is buy 6.
Darn The closest cvs is 18 miles!!!
That is like a close neighbor for some of us! I’d say take the trip it will be worth it!!! I drive almost an hour to get to a cvs walgreens or target…. (everyweek)
well if you want i live and drive by 20 cvs everyday to work i can mail it to you if you want to pay shipping

I love Honey Nut Cheerios! Thanks! 🙂
If you go on go on Pillsbury or Betty Crocker website you can get a .60 cent coupon instead of a .50 cent coupon…I know it just ten cents ,but that’s just an FYI. 🙂
for Trix’s Cereal …
I was just coming to post this! I printed this coupon for Trix earlier today. I guess I will hold onto it for a couple weeks. 🙂
When you say your price point is 1.00 dollar what size are you speaking of? Like the ones in this ad? I am getting value size which is almost triple for $2.50 and I think that is pretty good.
it’s hard to figure out if cereal is a good deal unless you have a price point that is based on weight. My price point is 10 cents per ounce.
A 20 ounce box of cereal for $1.88 is a much better deal than an 8 oz. box for $1… easy to figure out at 10 cents per oz…
Thanks Dana that was very helpful.
My son is leaving for the summer and though I’m sad about that :(……I’m happy I will have a chance to really stock up on cereal for next school year. My goal is to not buy cereal until this time next summer.
my cereal never has expirations dates that far out..not a whole year anyway, maybe a few months.
I have a list of what dates I have already and buy past that. I have cereal now that won’t expire until well in to 2013. I’m now looking for dates on cereal that will expire in April and May of next year. It’s takes longer snorting thru the dates, but my son loves cereal and can go thru a box in a week so I make sure when a good deal comes along, I get as many as my cabinets will fit.
Quote from saving star’s FAQ
”Do SavingStar eCoupons stack with in-store discounts or manufacturer’s coupons?
SavingStar eCoupons will work whether or not you combine them with other services’ coupons, BUT THEY ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE USED THIS WAY. Generally, manufacturers state that it is against their policies for shoppers to redeem more than one manufacturer’s coupon for the same purchase. Using in-store coupons in combination with SavingStar eCoupons is not a problem.”
So how does this deal work?
I’m I the only one who’s looking at the CVS ad and NOT seeing 1.88? It says 3/$10, but you MUST buy 3 to get 3 EB so they still won’t be anywhere near this price 🙁
