I bought this for my daughters birthday and she loves it! The castle is made of nice solid wood with no plastic parts. It folds out for access to the inside. Its not so big that it takes up to much room but it not a small castle either. I would recommend this for anyone with a little princess in the house.
The castle has provided hours upon hours of enjoyment. My girls are 3 and 5, and use their imagination and play Princesses all of the time (there is even a dungeon, with sliding doors, for their evil dragon). I am so impressed with the quality of this castle and all of the little rooms and alcoves – it fits the Disney Princesses (the Polly Pocket type) perfectly. I purchased some furniture by Fisher Price – “Loving Family” and it is just the right size for furnishing the rooms. I looked at so many plastic castles, but am so glad we purchased this one instead. It’s so important for children to develop creativity and use their imaginations and this castle is just great for creative play, plus you can’t go wrong the durability and quality that Melissa and Doug use to make toys – did I mention it is absolutely adorable!
*Keep in mind that several of the reviews do say Melissa & Doug furniture is too big for this castle, and that Polly Pocket or Disney Princess figurines are a better fit.

I bought this the last time you posted but a person had commented that they got it for $38 from Yolo.com. I checked it out and did get it for that price and free 2 day shipping! It is gorgeous! Love it! You may want to check that site out first.

My eldest got this for Christmas nearly 4 years ago and its still going strong and being played with by her and her lil sis. They love it with the Disney store figurines. Definitely highly recommend this!!

I bought this for my daughter’s 4th birthday in August of 2011. She still LOVES to play with it. We ended up buying several Play Mobile sets to go with it (as recommended in the comments on Amazon).
This Christmas she wants the furniture that goes with the Calico Critters (which I bought at TRU a few weeks ago at BOGO 50% off)…and she plans on using her Strawberry shortcake figures in it too.
The possibilities are endless. It won’t disappoint. The string on our door broke…but other than that no complaints.
