you might be able to return it at the store, they are selling them at the store for the same price. I bought one for my hd also (at the store) and had to return it…. thank God we checked it before i left the store.

regular kindles are thinner and it probably wouldn’t work well. I have found hard gel and leather covers for the regular kindle at Dollar Tree stores though, they were in the hardware aisle!

It’s hard to tell, but I think this is for the original kindle fire; not the kindle fire 7 HD. The specs for the case are 7.5″H x 4.7″W x 0.45″L, which match the original kindle fire. The new one is slightly bigger (7.6″ x 5.4″ x 0.4″).
