Target will price match + give a $20 gift card

  • Julie says:

Although this says “free shipping”, once you get to the end of the check out process it says “not available to be shipped”. So you have to pick it up in store, no other options. Not a big deal for me, but I thought I’d share that so people don’t get too excited about having it shipped. :/

  • Lori Birchfield says:

I ordered it over the internet and said it was available for in store pick up only. This is a very good price! Thanks you!

  • sarah says:

Arghh I JUST purchased this from them with a $20 gift card at a higher price. Fingers crossed they price adjust it.

    • Alea says:

If it was from Target – just return the whole thing – their policy doesn’t allow price matching for limited supply items or free gift cards with purchases.

    • Britani says:

They should price match. We bought it also from them and called today and they refunded our diff. over the phone!

      • sarah says:

Mine hadn’t shipped out yet but they will refund me the difference one is does. Something about the system doesn’t let them refund anything until it ships. I did get a case number though and Im glad since its sold out now. YAY AWESOME DEAL

  • Alea says:

No longer available to be shipped online, but you can choose pick up on store.
Thank you TONS for this post – I was actually heading out to Target to buy it for $199.99 with a $20 gift card (so $179.99) and this deal saves me $10 and less money out of pocket!! :)

  • Deb says:

I just got back from Target. They priced matched it at $159 and they gave me the $20 gift card. Best Deal!!!!

  • Katie says:

Will toys r us price match this? Bought last week for the $199, bundled with Mario kart and a $30 gift card. Just don’t know if it is worth going through the hassle for the 10 bucks . If they do in fact price match I guess I would though. Thanks so much.

    • We also bought at TRU for $199 and got the $30 gift card, so what we did was take the Bestbuy add to TRU they gave us $10 back since they say the $30 actually made it $169,, so to match Bestbuy they give you $10 to make it $159

  • Tammy says:

I just price matched at target AND got a $20 gift card. I just showed them the best buy link to the online ad on my phone. Happy day!!!

  • Maryann says:

How did you price match? Print the website page? Or is it in the newspaper today? Thanks!

  • Deb says:

At Target, they just looked it up on the internet at bestbuy.com

  • Maryann says:

I just went to Target to get this. Here’s what happened: The computer automatically gave me the $20 gift card. Then the mgt price matched from 199 to 159.99. Then the computer automatically added back in the cost of the gift card and mgt said she couldn’t override that since the gift cards were only on things that were their price. So the final cost was 179.99+ tax of about $11, minus my red card 5% of 8.00 = $182

So, it worked out the same, except I had to buy the gift card which is like cash. Um, and I think BB would have added in the entire tax cost so I actually saved that $8, but not the $20 for the gift card. Clear as mud?

    • Alea says:

Maryann – that’s EXACTLY what their policy states. It does not allow customers to price-match when there is a gift card involved – they can either “price-match” or give you the special promotion gift card. None of the stores are supposed to be doing the price-match on top of the gift card. Those who did got lucky, but it’s against their policy which is exactly why their systems “returns” the gift card.

      • Maryann says:

Wish the employees at the service desk knew that. LOL. The girl who helped me had no idea what happened. No big deal, though. I need more stuff from there anyhow and will just use the gift card.

  • Sarah says:

Heads up. They have a flame red one with Super Mario Land for only $139(that’s with tax and store pick up). You can only get one per transaction tho.

  • Meg says:

You should Not be able to get the gc, per Target’s price match policy. I’m not trying to be rude; if you were able to, that’s awesome. Just a heads-up that it may be a ymmv deal. I was happy to get it through BB for this price. Great deal for the xl with the bundle.

  • Hailey says:

Got the regular Nintendo 3ds for $129.99 also great deal thanks!

  • crystal says:

Any one know of any good DS game sales right now?

  • Cynthia says:

If I purchase this online and it says it will be available in the store tomorrow…do I have to pick it up that day or can I pick it up at a later date. I live about 1 1/2 away from a best buy and I’m not planning a trip down there until the end of the week or the following week. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

  • Connie says:

I was able to order it from Best Buy at that price and have it shipped. Just added to my cart and checked out. Hopefully you can have it shipped.

  • Kristi says:

Does anyone possibly know how long this price is good through at BestBuy.com? Thank You :-)

  • Duo-R says:

Me Best Buy left out a sign that said “free $20 gift card.” They couldn’t ring out the card but gave it to me for $139.99!!! So stoked!

  • Susana says:

i was so excited to do the price match at target i had a coupon for $15.00 off a $150.00 purchase from the giftbook i got in the mail so i figured even if i didnt get the gc i would get it for $144.99 so when i got to target the lady informed me that i would not get the gc which i was fine with but at the end they gave me the price match the $15.00 gc and the $20.00 GC she said it was more trouble than it was worth to try to void out the 20 gc i scored got the ds xl for 124.99 after all the discounts. wohoo!!

  • Donna says:

Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I went to Toys R Us and bought this not on sale and had to buy Mario Kart 7 separate. You saved me $65.19. I love your blog and tell everyone about. Thank you so much for all of your hard work.

  • Monica says:

Tried to get this deal at my target in Il but they said they don’t carry the Mario bundle :(

  • urgh noo i ordered this at bestbuy.com two days ago, will they refund me the difference??

  • Carol says:

I had no problem, either. In fact, she scanned it and said “and you get a $20 giftcard from us”. Thanks for sharing this great deal!

  • Clint says:

I bought the 3DS XL on December 1st, before this advertised deal. It did not have the Mario game preinstalled. Can I still return my 3DS XL and exchange it for this better deal even thought it has been opened?

  • Nikki says:

Got one today, thanks a bunch for this deal, returning the red 3ds (purchased blackFriday for 149.99) to best buy tomorrow this was a better deal. Got the %5 off, price adjustment, and the gift card.

  • Jack says:

need to return my mariokart 7 bundle for extra $40
    extra game there…. !

  • Brandon B says:

Just for back from target an they price matched best buy at 159.99 PLUS I got the $20 gift card as well… I was only taxed on $139.00 so my total cost was $171 plus a $20 gift card. My boy will be happy and I just saved a bunch of money.

It might be against their policy but their staff isn’t trained very well. Give it a try and best of luck :)
