I have not had a chance to test this yet but I saw on a few message boards that they do not roll to the next deal. Also read that if it says you have to spend xx.xx amount if you use coupons it puts you under the amount required and you will not get the reward.

I have never used coupons at Family Dollar before, is it worth it?

    • Susie Q

I like to know what everyone’s experience is with Family Dollar. I tried them several times about a year ago and it did not go well each time. A friend did the same deal and she had to force them to call a manager. Manager didn’t want to assist, but finally manually did it. My person said they were the manager and wouldn’t assist. What is your experience?

I used my $0.50/1 Palmolive Dish Liquid (14 oz+) coupon & I got 8 (14 oz x 8 = 112 oz) of them for $3.46 after tax because I had 8 coupons. I did 2 transactions to abide by the rules on the coupon. I love Family Dollar.

  3. Jennifer

I have had issues before when trying to roll deals like this there. If I buy something that is part of the deal and get a reward and turn around and use the reward to pay for another of the same item, the reward does not print. Likely it will be the same situation.

    • ebony

That is 100% false. I have been rolling since Sunday. I have done over 30 transactions so I know they do roll as long as ur subtotal is not 0.

      • Tisha

Hi so can u use coupons and still get the reward? Thanks

  4. Desiree

I have rolled the deal so many times with no problem. The suddenly pasta is on sale here in pa at 1.75

  5. Hannah

I bought 58 boxes of the suddenly pasta and only paid $8.40!

    • Lisa

what are you going to do with 58 boxes?

      • Emily

Eat them…and it’s none of your business what she does with them!

        • Lori

And that question was none of YOUR business! Smh….

      • Cindy

Throwing a big pasta salad party maybe? IDK lol. Hopefully donating it or giving some to friends and others if she doesn’t end up using all of them. 🙂

    • Susie Q

Way to score! I absolutely love this stuff. I continually share my stock pile with my young stay at home daughter who has no money to spare. I support her in any way I can so that SHE is raising her child. I have given to the food bank to the tune of $500.00+ in things that I purchased using coupons. Found out my older sister (trying to live on Social Security) was barely making it so I blessed her home with apx. $1,000.00+ in items. I have another sister which is getting toward retirement age and she has no one to help her so I’m going to see if I can send some items to her also. A friend of my daughters had $7 to last her 2 weeks so I sent over about 6 bags full of food items. Trying to help a co-worker (with a family) get started using coupons, we sent him 4 bags of items and guess what…. they continue to coupon and are keeping track of their savings and putting the money they save into paying off their vehicle and retirement. I am currently working on long term food storage so that I can use stockpile it when it is on sale and use it to help us when we retire which won’t be long. I’m excited. If I got this many, I would certainly have a use for them.

      • Kira

That is awesome! Good luck on that retirement 😉

can anyone give more information on this. how to roll the cat, can you combine different rewards deals, will more than one print on a receipt? thank you in advanced

  7. hazel

I bought 2 suddenly salad for 1.75 each and 1 honey but cheerios. I paid 5.80 I think and got back 5. Then did the same transaction but my 5 didn’t,t print out. So I think because my total was only .53 and not a dollar. If I remember right someone said it has to be a dollar to get the next reward. Am I right?

    • Sarah Ragan

i had .25 cent totals today with the suddenly salads and they still printed? might wanna call about not recieving another print out!

I actually tried this deal tonight at two different Family Dollar staores and had two bad experiences. The first time I did it, the $5 printed out. The second transcation, it didn’t. When trying to figure out why, the manager looked at me like he didn’t know what the hell he was doing. He was very reluctant to scan my coupons and wasn’t going to at first until I pulled out the coupon policy. So, my hubby said let’s try our luck somewhere else. After the end of transcation one, the $5 didn’t print at the end of the receipt either. The asst. manager had no idea what to do and called the store manager which was filling in over at another store. 45 minutes later after she finally showed up, she complained the whole time saying things like she was tired and this was suppose to be her day off and stuff and all the while making excuses for the reasons it didn’t print was because of me using my coupons and also because I got more than the required amount when I clearly only purchased three to test out the transcation. After an hour of my time and life wasted that I can never get back and her being frustrated at me for trying to save for my family, I finally got my coupons and walked out. Will be calling corporate in the morning to report the unprofessional behavior and attitude of that mananger as well as me not getting $10 in Family Dollar rewards. After this, I may not ever go back to Family Dollar again! God bless them for they know not what they do! FYI: I don’t want to discourage anyone from doing this deal. Please know that these were MY bad experiences. We as couponers have to remember that every deal isn’t for everyone and maybe this one wasn’t for me. But, by all means, please go out and try this deal. It is a great one and maybe after a good night’s rest, a vallum, and a prayer to the Lord for help, and a better look at Hip2 Save’s transaction deals, I might try this again later in the week. Good luck and blessings to all that try. And, sorry this comment was so long….more like a rant and vent. LOL.

    • Susie Q

Hey…. I know what you are talking about and it happens on several other deals at Family Dollar. I pretty much decided not to waste my time with Family Dollar which means they don’t get my other business.

  9. Su

Is this buy any 3 get $5 back deal still valid?? I thought it was only good till Memorial day.

    • Kate Rose

I just looked online at ad and its says good til June 27th!

In S’port LA will give this a go today and let you know what happens. I’ll pray first. Haha. (as usual :))

  12. julie

The ad for my zip code in NW Indiana does not show the get $5 if you buy 3 in the ad. Has anyone tried it out here?

    • jennifer

My ad I southwest va. doesn’t show it either. Is this promo only regional?

      • doris Garner

Buy 3 items and see. If it doesn’t work, return them for a refund.

  13. Amiee

    Lost my first post……

My first scenario worked great but my 2nd one not so much.

    I bought 1 Cinnamon toast, 1 Multigrain, 1 original cherrios $3
    Total $9.00

    I used 1 $1.00/2, 1 .50/1, and the $5.00 RR
    I paid $2.50 plus tax.

    I didn’t get back anything.What did I do wrong?

    • Bethany

Apparently the ONLY cereal that was supposed to be included are the 2 kinds pictured. I tried to buy another kind that was marked as part of the sale only to find the $5 didn’t print. They called the regional manager and she said it was because only those two kinds were included. When I tried with only 2 cin toast crunch and a honey nut cheerios the $5 did print.

    • doris Garner

I bought a regular yellow box of cheerios yesterday and the $5 printed.

  14. zee

mine ad doesn’t show the $5 when you buy 3 , dont want to waste my time if it’s regional can someone please help

  15. chrissy

I have done golden grahams, honey nut cheerios , cinnamon toast and yellow box cherrios and is rolling. Tried lucky charms and did NOT work. Going to try Trix today let you know, must have total to pay for it to roll, mine 15 cents sometimes and prints another 3 and 5

    • Bethany

Huh….I wonder why mine didn’t work then. It was my first transaction so the total was over $7 so it wouldn’t have been that it was too small an amount. They just told me it was because only those 2 cereals were included. Could the cereals included be regional?? And how would it print a 3 and 5? I only got the $5 reward.

  16. Michelle C

My ad didn’t show it either but I tried and it worked…now to see if it rolls!

  17. Kyra

I’ve been rolling this deal all week! The best first transaction is 3 suddenly salad. You’ll pay $5.xx and get the $5 cat. The cereals that haven’t worked for me are reeses puffs and fruit loops.

Multiple Family Dollar coupons will print on the same reciept, so you can combine deals. I was getting the girly nails last week combine with this general mills deals and both $5 and $3 cats were printing and rolling.

  18. camille

I live in OH, I went today and these deals didn’t work for me..=(

  19. cashay

why are nails so much if the stores call Family Dollar show it to be like a dollar and $0.50 power 1 50 that’s how much it cost

  20. Audrey Smiley
