Check out a few of the awesome reviews from Amazon…

Where has this been all my parental life?? This carrier and the Bjorn are like night and day. I love wearing my babies, but with the bjorn, it got to the point (around 8 mos or so with my oldest), that it got uncomfortable to wear him. The ergo is SO much more comfortable. I love the fact that the weight is dispersed so evenly between shoulders and hips and that you can wear them different ways. My LO can even nurse in it. I even managed to carry my 3yo on my back while I was pregnant and it felt fine

I use my carrier all the time when I am out gardening or going on walks. My son loves it, since he gets to cuddle! The color and design of this is also a little more gender neutral, which is nice since my husband also occasionally wears it. I have been very impressed with the straps as well, my husband is a very large person (over 6″ and 290 lbs) and he is able to make this carrier fit comfortably.

I barely even feel like I am carring my baby – it is SO comfortable! I wore my other carrier briefly the other day and what a difference. I had to take it off after just a few minutes – it was so uncomfortable. I love that my baby can nurse and sleep easily with the hood up, and that she can look around with it down. I look forward to being able to carry her on my back when sheis a little bigger.

I bought one six months ago in black at Costco now I am bummed to see all these color ones for cheaper…wish I could go for the red one :-(.

Um, I had to look at the ‘awesome review’ once more. Did anyone else see where she says she carried her infant AND her 3 year old? This is just my opinion, but why wasn’t that kid walking? And he likes it because he gets to “snuggle”? I’m sure this carrier is fantastic, but you sure won’t catch me carrying a 3 year old in it…. 😀

My SIL carries her 3 yr old around in it b/c they’ll be out and my niece will fall asleep. They don’t’ want to deal with a stroller at the pumpkin patch or at the star gazing event that we went to on vacation, and when she fell asleep instead of lugging around a dead weight child, they retrieved the ERGO from the car and put her in that instead. It worked really well and gave Mom and Dad more freedom to mingle with the rest of the family on the outing since they weren’t hovering over a stroller in the small observatory.

I see lots of 3yr olds still I strollers, same idea it just keeps them closer and the Ergo is a lot less bulky to lug around. The Ergo is great for older toddlers when hiking, walking long distances, and traveling. No, you may not use this everyday with the older ones, but it is great to have the option to use it.

I love the judgment. What if the 3 yr old was special needs or she just fell asleep? This post was about a great deal on ergo carriers not to complain about another mom’s parenting choices. Goodness gracious.

    • Momoffive

Wow! What is so wrong with snuggling a 3 year old? The Ergo is a great, versatile product for “snuggling” a child up to 40 pounds. I love mine and use it every day!

      • Ariel

its the same as like those big back pack carriers you use on hikes and stuff, just less bulky. I don’t see a problem carrying a 3 year old. The weight limit on the Ergo is 35 or 40 lbs. There are lots of times our toddler will poop out and need carried when we go places. They get tired easily especially on day trips to like the zoo and stuff. Your supposed to carry 35 lbs of dead weight when your child falls asleep so that people don’t “judge” you for carrying your toddler? That is just stupid!

We have an 8-year-old with autism. Only in the past year she has been out of her stroller (we had a Maclaren Volo). Now we use a backpack hand holder. I would much rather have had her safe in her stroller than have her wander and who knows what could have happened. Our 13-year-old also has autism and I use an old Playskool hand holder that was my 21-year-olds when he was small. He is a runner and will pull away if we just hold his hand. When we go to stores he still sits in the basket of the shopping cart. There are so few options but the main thing is to keep them safe:)

I too don’t see anything wrong with snuggling our children and holding them close. However any mom wants to do that should be up to her without criticism. Sadly, the world we live in teaches us to be so harsh on one another. Sad. Great deal on the carriers – I have been wanting one for my last 2 babies. I did get one this time since it was such a steal. I will be snuggling my 16 month old close in it, too 🙂

I have the organic one which is super soft. My little one is almost a year and I use it to carry her on my hip whixh helps my back out a lot. I have a Bjorn that I received as a gift but beyond a few months old I reallt prefer the Ergo. Even a heavy baby feels light compared to carrying them in your arms. Good deals. I snagged mine for under $50 but that was a ridiculous deal. You won’t be sorrybif you buy this!

I actually just got one of these this week to say I love it

  5. Emily

This is a GREAT product. I loved my ergo with my now two-year-old and used it until he was about 10 months. He was a bigger guy so I probably could have used it longer but once they start walking I don’t see an advantage. However other moms do say it is helpful beyond walking years. I’m planning to use the same one with my baby due in October. I love, love, love this invention! It is my #1 recommended baby item!! Also, it washes WONDERFULLY! It is not faded or anything. Mine is blue.

  6. Amber

Which one is better? The original or the sport?

    • Kristen

I was going to ask the same question just now!

      • Lori

I’m pretty sure the sport is for bigger and taller people. The original fits more average body types.

        • Lori

With the combination of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, the Ergobaby Sport is an ideal choice for parents in warmer climates. The vent below the hood pocket also keeps both parent and baby cooler.

Parents with larger frames love the Ergobaby Sport, since the shoulder straps extend an extra 4” (to 27”), and the waist belt extends an extra 5”(to 48”). The waist extension can also be used with the Ergobaby Sport. However, the Ergobaby Sport can also accommodate smaller parents, since the waist belt cinches to 30”, making it an ideal choice for families with babywearers of different sizes!

I don’t think Amazon is an authorized reseller of Ergo products, and a lot of the Ergo carriers on Amazon are 3rd party reseller counterfeits.

    • Ambo

hmm how do you know if they’re authorized?

    • nicole

you can find authorized resellers here https://m.ergobaby.com/counterfeits?md=1
I’d recommend looking at who the reseller is on amazon and verify them by using their name in the Ergo reseller search. hth.

Great product! I have the Sport in light blue (bottom left pic) and have used it since 2010. First born in 2010 and second born in 2012 – both still ride in the Ergo. We love it, so comfortable for Mom, Dad, toddlers and babies. The Sport is made to be lighter and breathable for hot weather. Highly recommend!

    • Kristen

      Thanks for the info!

  9. hologram87

the original one says it’s $114 (?) I like the look of that one over the sport, but for the cost, I might have to go with the sport. we are expecting baby #2 and I know this would be really helpful!

  10. klhart1227

Looks like the price just went up for the Original camel Ergo. Now it says $114.

  11. Danielle

    The prices went up…darn!

  12. hologram87

I had the red one in my cart and now it’s sold out!

  13. Katie

Wow – I think I just got in under the wire! Thank you!!!

  14. Erin

Love my Ergo! Zulily had these a while ago around the same price, not sure if that sale ended or not.
