I LOVE these things! My kids don’t own any because they are so expensive, but I worked at a teacher’s supply store for 7 years where we sold these so I was able to test them out.
We have this set as I review travel-friendly kids’ products. Before we got them, I thought they were awful expensive, but they are VERY well made, and we LOVE ours!!! My kids (the 4 to 12 mostly) play with them EVERY day – we like them better than legos and k-nex!
Excited for sales on them as we want order more! 🙂
My name links to our product review for these…
We love these as well. This non-lighted 62 piece set is also a very good price at $59.99. We first got to try them out at my son’s optometrist’s office, and he loved them. I probably would have not considered them if I wasn’t sure that my so was so into them.

Magformers are GREAT! I got ours at a deep discount from a short-lived toy rental company that also sold the toys at a discounted price (may be why they didn’t last as a business actually).
We use ours almost every day — the lighted set is super tempting!
Decided we didn’t need a light up set but did need more pieces — this is a great deal:

Do you think a 8 year old would enjoy these? From reading the Amazon reviews it sounds like it’s mainly 4-6 year olds that play with these. I’m thinking since my son is 8 I should get him the snap circuits instead…
I highly recommend Snap Circuits — my daughter got them for her 5th birthday. They are incredible. She needs help at this point, but an 8 year old could do projects themselves.
My seven year old got the Snap Circuits last year or the year before, and they are great! He can build them himself. I am also wondering about the Magformers; he’s a huge Lego guy.
Thanks for the input!
My eight year old loves these.
Qvc has some marked as clearance. Not surd if they are the same. Seems like a good deal.

A very good and versatile toy for older kids
