If you’re looking for a way to make use of the high value $5/2 Nivea Women or Men Body Lotion coupon found in the 3/16 Smart Source insert (and don’t have a CVS nearby to score this deal), check out this deal you may be able to score at your local Target:

Nivea Smooth Sensation Body Lotion 2.5oz $1.97
Use the $5/2 Nivea Women or Men Body Lotion coupon found in the 3/16 SS (excludes 1-2oz)
Final cost 2 for FREE!

[h2s_box]

Note that these Nivea lotions were found in a bin near other travel/trial size items. However, they are indeed 2.5oz so the coupon should be able to be used on these products. As you can see from the picture above, the coupon only excludes 1 oz and 2 oz trial/travel sizes.

The coupon says excludes 1-2 oz, but it also states includes 2.5 – 17 oz. So it should definitely work.

My target is so frustrating. They won’t let me use the $1 off any airborne product coupon that came out a while back bc the travel size airborne is 99 cents and they say they can’t adjust down. I’m sure they’d do the same thing for these. My target doesn’t seem very coupon friendly most of the time. 🙁

    • C

It says in their policy they will adjust the coupon if the item exceeds the coupon value.. had the same issue with the gold bond awhile back when the policy clearly states they adjust down the value.

      • Brandy

Oh yeah and the gold bond! I tried getting it the same day as the airborne. My target just isn’t overly friendly overall. I do love the wags in my town though. They are very friendly and also very coupon friendly as well. We are getting a CVS so I’m hoping it’s just as good.

I had this problem with my local Walmart. I sent a nice email to the corporate office stating that I love shopping in their store, but I really need to save money so I guess I’ll have to go elsewhere since they won’t accept my coupons. The NEXT DAY the local manager called me and apologized. They accepted my coupons and gave me a $10.00 gift card for my trouble.

    • valerie

You need to carry a print out of their coupon policy with you at all times. So they can see what exactly says on there. That’s the only way out of an argument of whose right and whose wrong.

      • Guggie L Daly

The thing is, Target policy says they can turn down qs for any reason so arguing w/ them is moot if they don’t want to take it.

    • Guggie L Daly

My target is the same way. No way will they honor this. They refuse to adjust down and claim their computers won’t let them. I’ve worked retailed for almost 10yrs. I know they’re lying but nothing you can do.

    • Renee

I work at a Target as a Guest Service Team Leader. I am so sorry you are having problems with your coupons. Some people at my store abuse the policy and make it had for couponers like us to get a great deal because some people want to make money instead of getting things free or cheap. At my store I am the coupon queen and all my guests know it too. Keep trying and be nice – nice goes a long way instead of getting mad and mean.

    • Jennifer K

In regards to the Airborne coupon, I got the full $1.00 off, I even had the $1.50 printable coupon and it took of the full value for that too with no beeps. I am sorry that you had a problem with that.

  3. C

Seems like everyone in my area already knew about this deal…. Went to 3 targets and the bin was cleared already!

  4. Wendy

My 3/16 SS doesn’t have the coupon 🙁

    • Beth

      Mine either….. 🙁

  5. anna

I wonder if you buy three if it will take off the total $5 value making making it .91 for the three?

  6. SJ

Ladies I am terrible at math lol! My question: is it better to get these small sizes for almost free or use coupons on larger sizes and stock up ?? For example the Nivea deal seems to work out to 5 oz for .98 or better to use on 16.9 oz at $7.99?? What is best price per ounce I can’t do the math lol!!! I realize I would have to purchase 2 large sizes thanks ladies!!

    • Angel

These are actually totally free. According to the picture, they are $1.97 each, the coupon is $5 off 2. In my book, free – no matter how small the item – is better than paying any money 🙂

      • SJ

As the young people day “true that “, Angel lol!! Thank you!!

    • Christine

I never waste coupons in trial sizes. I’d rather wait and get a big bottle for a buck or so than a one use bottle

      • Angel

There are some things that I agree buying larger and paying some money is better than getting an itty bitty for free. Lotion is one thing I’d rather get an itty bitty for free 🙂 Lotion deals are a dime a dozen.

    • anna

How about buying one large and one small? You do not have to get the same size. Right?

  7. SJ

Ok got it!! 5 oz at .98=.196 per oz and 33.8 oz at $7.99 each = .32 per ounce!! But still sometimes I think better to stick up on large sizes– what I should do is wait for a better Nivea sale!!

    • Anne

The large bottles are $0.99 at Rite Aid after coupon and +up rewards. If you don’t have +up rewards to roll, you do have to pay more out of pocket.

  8. Philpott

    Cvs has a great sale

  9. Nik

This isn’t a valid match up. While that product is 2.5oz, you will notice that the tag says TT which means travel/trial.

    • Mel

There was some discussion about this on another forum I read for the CVS deal and the moderators felt the coupon was not a match b/c CVS also has the 2.5 oz categorized as trial size. I feel the coupon is poorly worded. One spot it says that its not valid on the 1 oz or 2 oz trial/travel sizes. Then in the fine print it says valid on 2.5-21 oz., excludes trial/travel sizes. So while the stores might categorize that size as trial, the coupon makes it seem 2.5 is not trial/travel. I am sure future coupons will probably exclude that size.

I have the 3/110 coupon inserts and we did not get the $5/2 coupon in the newspaper. Is there a website to print that coupon from?

  11. Stacey Adams

Is it Targets policy to put down the value of the coupon? I have gone to 2 different Targets, and received the overage each time of my other purchases.

    • QQueen

I get overages too i think if you purchase more than the nivea or whatever it is, the overage will be applied. Idk if thats supposed to be that way but it is for me.

  12. Trish

My 3/16 Smart Source didn’t have the coupon… boo hoo. I seriously looked through the stinkin’ flyer three times!

  13. Sandra

A little off topic, but if you have Meijer ( regional) nearby, they have large Nivea lotions on sale for 4.99 and many come with a gift, 2.5 oz Nivea lotion. I purchased 6 of these paying 2.50 for each pair (full size and 2.5 oz)

  14. Kc

no way around it TARGET is TERRIBLE if u ever have a problem forget corporate, they are NOT coup on friendly and it is just not worth the hassle 🙁

  15. Kc

Colin this is for u one thing I lved about ur site was no moderation and u could ez chat back and forth now MODERATION. I understand the crazies but so far and few between on ur site :(. , I miss the old days w no moderation!

  16. Inda

Just bought these at my Target (Granada Hills, CA). They’re priced at $1.97 and the bin was FULL of them. Cashier said no because they’re 2 oz bottles. I politely explained that the coupon says 2 oz and these are actually 2.5 oz. She turned in her light, called over her manager, he came and told her to manually enter two manufacturer coupons for $1.97 each. I feel like I won a prize.

    • T

Same exact thing at my target in nj. Got two for free at the adjusted price of $3.94 off my bill for the two

  17. Jonna

I don’t live near a Target. I live close to two Wal-Marts though. I found the 2.6 ounces for $2.72 each. I managed to get two for $0.44 or for $0.22 a piece. I still think that’s a pretty good deal to me. These will make great stocking stuffers or purse lotions! The cashier even said she wanted my coupons. She made my day! 🙂

    • Jonna

The lotions were the Nivea Smooth, I believe.

  18. Jessie

OT, but I have a question about the white cloud $2 coupon Collin posted days ago.

I went to Wal-Mart last night and tried to redeem my 2 coupons that I printed out using 2 different computers. I didn’t know u can print 2 on each computer so I printed 2 on 2 different computers. Anyway, when I came up to the register the lady examined the coupon for about a minute then told me I can’t use 2 coupons bc they have the same serial number saying u can only print 2 with coupons.com. So I took a look at the coupon where she pointed out the numbers on top of the barcode being the same. So I told her I printed it with 2 computers & don’t know why the numbers above the barcode are the same. Even if I printed with 1 computer, she just said it herself, that u can print only TWO on coupons.com and I’m only using TWO. As I look at the coupon closer, both coupons have the same numbers on the barcode, BUT ON THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER…the user ID number is different. She kept accusing me of photocopying the coupon and I politely told her how can the coupon be photocopied when the lower bottom left of the coupon have a different USER ID NUMBER. She keeps rudely insisting the # on top of the barcode should be different. She was speaking so loud that she got the other cashiers came over staring at me like I’m a crook for using coupons. So the cashier took my 2 coupons & walked into a room in CS. The rest of the employees were just staring @ at me with these nasty looks like I did something wrong. They didn’t even cared to let me explain the story & just looked at me rude. The cashier finally came out & said the manager will only let me use one coupon. So I said that’s fine, just take the other item off my order. She gave me this huge sigh looking mean like it was hard work for her to take an item off. After I paid, I softly asked the cashier what the manager’s name was that didn’t accept my 2 valid coupons. Cashier responded with “It doesn’t matter, Wal-mart will not accept coupons with the same serial number bc it is photocopied.” I replied to her with “I’m not contacting the manager to complain. I just want to know why the manager rejected my coupon bc the manufacturer released a coupon with same serial # on top of barcode, but different user ID on the coupon. It’s not my fault the coupon was released that way. She could have been more polite about it instead of yelling at me. Now when I come back to that wal-mart, the employees are going to give me a hard time when using coupon. Anyway, sorry for the long rant. It’s just incidents like these make me feel bad like I did something wrong & couponing isn’t worth it. All that stress and emotions. Lol

  19. Jessie

Another thing, what am I suppose to do with situations like these? When manufacturers release coupons with same number on top of barcode but differentiate customers by different User ID #s. Cashier wouldn’t listen even I pointed out the 2 different user ID numbers on the coupons. Looking back, I don’t think there’s much I can do if they don’t care to listen. It’s not like one of those cases, where I can pull put the store policy. I just wish cashiers were knowledgeable about coupons or being nice when they want to reject taking them. I don’t want to let things like that bother me or rude people to ruin my day, but it does affect my mood. 🙁

Anyone know a better way to handle situations like this? Thank you for reading!

    • Hope

Jessie, When I have come upon an issue that appears will be non-resolvable in a quick amount of time when couponing, in the interest of everyone behind me in line, as well as my own sanity, I have resolved to just simply say, “Okay. I understand what you’re saying to me. If you don’t mind the bother, would you please remove those two bottles of Nivea (or whatever the questionable item(s) is/are) from my order?” I thank them genuinely for helping me, then head over to customer service for a more involved discussion if I’m up for it. Let’s face it, some days you’re just not up for it. There, I can pull up their store coupon policy on my phone, if needed, and discuss the issue at hand. In your case, I don’t know what else you could do besides choose another store to use your second coupon. Some days its frustrating, as anything else can be; but for me, the savings outweigh the occassional headach. 😉 Good luck to you!

  20. Kayla

Totally worked for me without a problem. I got the overage applied to the Easter candy I got too! All in all, walked out with 6 bottles of lotion, 2 big bags of m&ms, a bag of Reese’s eggs, and face wash for around $10. Saved 66% with coupons and cartwheel. Yay!

  21. Carissa

I went to my local Target with 3 of the $5.00 off Nivea lotion coupons. Bought 6 of the $1.97 lotions (along with some other things). Went to the register and the cashier said that the 2.5 oz is considered trial size and she deducted 3 times $1.97, this making me pay for the additional 3. I went the next day and returned the 3 because I didn’t feel I needed to pay for them. The coupon made them free or she should have given me my coupons back and deducted the lotion from my order. Otherwise, I was paying $6.25 to Target for the lotions and they were getting $15.00 back from the coupon supplier. I didn’t think that was right!
