YAY!! I’m so excited about this!
I downloaded it and my 5 year old is already playing it. We are using BOB books to begin reading and these work perfectly with what she is doing in the BOB books. For anyone with a preschool child who will be going into K5, I HIGHLY recommend the BOB books. You can get them on Amazon and they are very reasonably priced!
My son read the BOB books when he was 4. He’s now 22. Glad to hear they’re still around. Great books!

I downloaded it yesterday, and we played it today. There are multiple units, & you install each individually. I thought I had only gotten one unit since it was free, but was totally physched when I saw I could access them all! My 4 yr old son and his friend loved it. This is hands down the best free app yet that I’ve gotten.

How do you install the other units? Do you have to go back to the App Store?
I got the app yesterday. It was showing as free when I clicked on “buy”. Now, after this post saying that the price was changed, I want to make sure I was not charged $49.99 for it, but I haven’t received a receipt. If you got it yesterday, did you get a receipt yet?
You would have had to pay b4 the download. Apple changed the price in the afternoon, so if you downloaded it when it said free, you should be good.
I’m confused. I got it at like 10:30 pm EST last night, and it said free then.
Am I the only one concerned that whoever is administrating the Hooked on Phonics Facebook page doesn’t seem to understand the meaning of “In lieu of…”? Pretty sure that should say “Due to…”.

I personally won’t trade online because I think there are too many ways that things can get messed up. Sometimes intentionally, sometimes unintentionally. Just too uncertain for me.

For anyone who has used this, how do you get units 2 and 3 to be in use? Do you just have to get through all the unit 1 lessons first or do they cost extra?
SO thrilled about this! I just downloaded it for my 3 year old sons iPad mini and within minutes of using it, he is already learning and recognizing hat, cat, sat, pat, rat, mat, etc. This will be an invaluable resource for us. Thank you SO much! Forever grateful for Hip2Save!
Great freebie even if your child is 6-8 & is uncomfortable reading, it’s a huge help. Our schools no longer teach phonics in the correct form (it’s more to a test ), kids tend to miss the important elements! This will keep them on track!

F.Y.I. If for some reason you are unable to get the app, The Hooked on Phonics book and Cd Sets are available at the Public Library to borrow for two weeks. We just grabbed those during the summer and two weeks was just enough time if we worked on it every other day. The readers in my household are OUTSTANDING!

I tried to go to itunes through my computer and it is showing that it is $49.99. do you have to do through your device? I got it on my husbands ipad, but I dont have mine yet and wanted to get it for my apple account as well.
I was able to download the app, but the app only seems to sell reading units. Any advice?
