It’s plastic if you’re concerned about paint, etc.
I work in an afterschool program and the kids go bananas over this. We have 2 and they are at least 10 years old one of the drawers is broken since the kids are so crazy with this they are not as careful as they should. Great and fun learning tool!
We own this toy and my kids plus their friends LOVE this toy! They have used it to play store, at their lemonade stand, etc. Lots of imaginative play while learning the value of money. Even my 9 year old continues to play with this on occasion.
