  1. Summer

    Nice….bacteria

  2. Heather

Well that’s awesome (sarcasm), wipes are usually bought and used right away, so people that have used them and they are gone, are out of luck with this. Sad. Our poor babies have been exposed to bacteria and theres nothing we can do about it

    • Nicole

I agree Heather….we should get a refund too!

      • sarah

We just finished a 3 pack from walgreens..So now I guess I’ll never know ugh

    • Lynn

Agreed. Had several of the Walgreens wipes that are long gone. 🙁

  3. Michelle W

I logged into my wags account and was able to go back though my purchases (through balance rewards) for 180 days. Then I just printed out transactions all of the times I purchased it. I also called wags customer service and am going to get getting a call back from them in the next 48 hours. I have called my daughter’s dr. and am waiting for a call back from them as well. So scary about the lungs just stopping working and it’s resistance to antibiotics!

    • Maureen

Did you read different information than the article posted? I did not see anything about lungs stop working or resistance to bacteria.

      • Maureen

Oops I mean resistance to antibiotics.

        • Michelle W

I looked at Wikipedia which is what came up when I typed in the name of the bacteria. I also looked at a children’s hospital site that came up.

          • Monica

You need to calm down LOL 😂😂😂😂

            • Michelle W

Wow. Just wow. Your right Monica, it’s just my kid. No biggie. Get a brain.

            • Jenn

I had three miscarriages before my daughter. I am lucky to have a child, yet I am not panicking over this. I had the wipes. they are used up, she never had any issues during use, she is totally fine and healthy. I move on with life. What’s done is done.

          • April

Just so you know Wikipedia can be updated by anyone including you it is not a valid source for medical information.

          • Lily

I have no words for this woman…

    • Cari

You are that parent that takes their child to the ER with a runny nose right???? Good lord lady…. Get a grip…

      • jenn

Seriously though lol. If they are long used up, its too late now. And if there were no immediate symptoms, pretty sure no need for such panic. And ive never heard of someone searching all back purchases and wanting compensation for them. Is that common in recalls? Til now ive never been part of a large scale one and actually used/purchased the items.

        • Cari

I’ve never heard of anyone searching back that far either lol
This lady is panicking and trying to get other people to panic for no reason. Not every pack was affected.

    • Ann

If I had used them I would probably be paranoid too. 🙂 I have the worry-wart in me too, so don’t let these people make you feel silly for being worried about your child. 🙂

  4. CJ

Luckily I’ve bought parent’s choice lately but I do have a couple of the trial size packs that came free with Sam’s diapers in the diaper bag. I was just using them to wipe my older kids faces this weekend. Ugh!

  5. Rina F

They raised the price on the Sam’s club Simply Right wipes to a whopping $19.00 with a side of bacteria.

  6. Maria

Wow…I have a lot of Walgreens baby wipes trying to stock up before the baby comes, and now I have to go and return them?? Aughh. Thanks for letting us know though, Collin.

  7. jan

Sams was very good about refunding. They can look up history even if you already used them.

    • LM

That’s what we did — they looked up our history and refunded us two boxes.

    • Nicole

So did you just go to Sam’s customer service and have them look up your purchase history with your membership card and they issued you a refund?

  8. Tammy

I had 2 half used packs from Sams and they refunded the whole 19$

  9. patty

Whem do you think all the Walgreen’s employees will be informed? It will be even more annoying trying to explain to the cashiers what’s going on

    • April Cahill

i tried calling walgreens and they asked if i had receipt n wont return it without it. also i have two open packs and he said i wont get nothing from them either

      • Tristan

On a recall, if it’s within the recalled item numbers, package date, or whatever identifying fester they are using, receipt or not, walgreens has to refund.

        • Ann

Agree with Tristan. If it is part of a refund it doesn’t matter if you have the receipt or if it is partially used or not. They must refund. It’s the law. 🙂

          • Ann

I meant if it is part of a recall… 🙂

      • Rachel

Wags also has a “100% satisfaction guarantee” so even if it is open and used they still have to refund you on their personal products

  10. Erica

Anyone know what bacteria is it? I bought a box at Sams to use on my 2 year old. Bought them in September. In October my daughter got a weird rash. Took her to the dermatologist and she had MRSA. Wonder if any connection.

    • April Cahill

its on the fda website its called Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia)

  11. Emily

I know this is unrelated, but I haven’t seen any Target posts today. I’m looking for one or two of the $10 off $40 regional Target coupons for Purina pet supplies/food that expires on Saturday (11/1). I can’t find any on the clipping sites that I use. I can send someone coupons from any of the recent inserts that I have as a trade. I don’t have kids, so I don’t need any of the diaper, wipe or formula coupons from the inserts but what I do need are Purina One dog food ones! 🙂 If you have it, will you send me a message at – em742 at hotmail.com – and we can arrange a trade. Thanks!

    • Sonya

This probably isn’t the best post to place this under, people are probably not too happy about this recall:/ Try posting on a cheerier topic for more responses;)

  12. Jeanie

Why shouldn’t they ask for a refund? The fact of the matter is this; they bought those wipes believing they were safe to use on their child, so there should be no question as to whether they “may contain” bacteria or not! Who are you to tell them to basically shut up and move on?

  13. Paige

I work at Walgreens and it’s not completely ALL the baby wipes. It’s only the Sensitive kind. The other kinds are still on the shelves and are fine.

    • Paige

And effective of Oct 25th, the registers wouldn’t let the employees sell it to a customer, it will notify us to not sell it and to pull and quarantine the item.

      • Rachel

On the link provided above it has some “**” for the Walgreens wipes….do you have specific information on which to return? Just the sensitive wipes? Do we have numbers to cross check? THanks so much Paige!

        • Paige

I saw above that someone had called Walgreens and the employee denied to accept their return. That is very untrue. If you have a receipt and bought it in the last 30 days, you will get your full refund. Even if you don’t have a receipt, Walgreens will give you your money back on a gift card. Even if the wipes are used, I would think they would understand that they sold a faulty product. Don’t hesitate to return it!

    • paige

i love ur name paige 🙂

      • Michelle W

I called wags today and they gave me two upc’s of each product. they are
        311917152097
        311917120744

    • C

The well beginning sensitive wipes are the only kind that I used on my son 🙁

  14. L.

I just finished a box of the Simply Right. I didn’t notice anything strange. Still scary though.

  15. Vanessa

Just got done online chatting with Walgreens, here is the info for anyone who needs it.

Angie L: The UPC code you provided 31191715208(0) is one of the one’s that were recalled.
    Angie L: And there are seven more UPC 31191714724(6) 31191715209(7) 31191712074(4) 31191715210(3) 311917115211(0) 31191715212(7) 31191715213(4)
Angie L: You may return your product to any Walgreens for a refund.

    • Lynn

Thank you for the numbers. I have a few packages that I need to return.

  16. paige

glad i stocked up and used other wipes before my wags wipes i will be returning them tomorrow or tonite, i really dont wanna waste an hr trying to find my receipt in 3 boxes of pampers containers

  17. Katrina

So scary! Are they going to pay for antibiotics etc if children get infections? Glad we are past the wipes stage but this is terrifying. I feel for you, mamas.

    • Chrissy

I believe i a child gets sick and the reason is from something to do with a recall they actually DO PAY. You can find out from your dr or recall sites on how to deal with that sort of thing

  18. Laura

I received a box of simply right wipes for my baby shower in August. Baby was born in September and those were the only wipes I used. Learned of recall a couple of weeks ago and returned to SAMs club for a refund on gift card and bought Huggies. Although they didn’t give me a hard time about exchange of 7 1/2 of my remaining unused packs, I was so sad as my newborn has no such immunizations to protect him from this bacteria :'((

  19. Julie

These wipes gave my grandson a severe red bottom and blisters. I threw them all away. I knew there was something wrong with them!!

  20. Dja

Anyone call and know what lot numbers or time frame the well beginnings wipes are affected? Have some that I stockpiled but probably from at least a year ago

    • Dja

Never mind just saw the above posts… Thanks!!

  21. Cari

Laura- immunizations do not protect against bacteria. Immunizations protect against viruses.

    • Dja

Cari- please don’t spread misinformation… Although there may not be an immunization for the bacteria that this wipe recall pertains to, there are plenty of vaccines that protect against bacterial infections. Tetanus, pertussis, etc … All bacterial infections.

  22. Rachel

I just talked with a customer representative (name:Shela F) regarding Walgreens wipes. She said that I need to have the product to receive a refund. I usually keep old receipts for at least one year, but I can’t get refund. Walgreens wipes have been the only ones that I’ve used for my kids, so this is very frustrating news.

  23. C

I’ve been using the Well Beginning sensitive wipes on my son for a long time now. I can’t get a refund because I already used up all the wipes. This is very disturbing new. 🙁

  24. Kelly C.

If you don’t have a receipt but have 19 packs of well being sensitive wipes from wags, how would I get a refund/store credit?

  25. Stephanie

I rounded up all of our wipes, as all we use are the Sam’s Club brand. I brought them in tonight, they looked up by my membership card and also looked at the different lot numbers. Got a store credit for three boxes, and bought a box of Huggies wipes. The shelves had no spot for their brand wipes or diapers (which come with a trial pack of wipes)! Although it has me wondering if this could be the reason my daughter was in the hospital twice the last few months with flares of her asthma (she just turned 2 this month).

  26. Ash

I am glad I hardly use wipes. I wash my baby with water mostly!

  27. Kimberly

I took in my Walgreens wipes this morning, without a receipt and didn’t use my rewards card on the purchase. The manager was able to do the in store credit. As long as the Upc is on the list they will refund your money.

  28. patty

Took my 2 packages of wipes back today. Checked to make sure I had the correct UPC codes and everything. Just as I feared the cashier had no clue what I was talking about and the manager wasn’t very friendly They made me feel like I was doing something wrong!. I had to be firm and explain that not only did I NOT need a receipt with a RECALL but all Walgreen products come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee! She was miserable and made me fill out some paperwork then gave me a store credit. STEP UP THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS WALGREENS!

  29. sarah

Is lot numbers 10414 00:59 B recalled. I have alot and need to know. Still using occasionally. Please replay
    Thanks
    Sarah
