Darn I just bought the Samsung tablet deal for $99 from staples. I hope it’s worth paying a little more. I have a kindle fire (not HD) myself & love it but got the tablet for my husband’s xmas gift.
The Samsung has expandable memory. This does not and 8g is not much after some apps and a movie or two.

What is the best (inexpensive) tablet to get. I don’t know much about them. I just want it to surf the internet so I don’t know if the kindle is the one I need.
We have the 1st kindle fire & use it for surfing, reading kindle books & apps for the kids & it’s been great. That’s the only tablet I’ve owned so not sure how others compare.
My kids do have a lot of apps & space is sometimes an issue. I’m not sure if you can use an SD card for additional memory with the fire?
I don’t believe so. That was the deciding factor for me between an iPad, Kindle, and Samsung.
There will be so many tablets on sale for Black Friday for less than $50. I was going to get my 10yo a Kindle which is about $80 only because 1) Amazon offers so many educational apps 2) I think that I can control the settings to prevent her from going all over the web and seeing things I don’t want her to see.
Do any of you know if there are any parental controls on the tablets that will be less than $50? I’m hoping for a tablet with a camera because my daughter want to make movies.
WebRoot is great! Have used it for several years and it is by far better than any Internet security or virus protection we have ever used, and I’ve tried numerous ones-just my opinion of course.

yes, we bought my 12-yr-old the fire in June, along with the FreeTime case, and all of my younger kids have used it and love it. No problems. The FreeTime case is perfect, $19.99 on Amazon.
YES! my daughter is 6 and it is an amazing learning tool for her! So much for them to do and you can parent lock just about everything, so no browsing, and buying for her lol 🙂 it has been worth every penny spent on it.
I use my kindle EVERY DAY!! I absolutely love it. And you have all the support of Amazon behind it. I recommend it to anyone. I have often wished it were just a little smaller so I have really been looking forward to this deal. Got one for me and my hubby and my old one will go to the kiddos. I have never been disappointed with the kindle 🙂

The code would not work for me at best buy either. Talked to three diff sales people (who spoke to their supervisors) and they told me best but does not do these codes! Looks like I will be trying staples next!
