Amazon: Gift Card Lightning Deals Starting Soon (Save on Justice, Cracker Barrel, AMC, & More)
Today only, Amazon.com is offering up select Gift Card Lightning Deals to popular stores and restaurants. These “Lightning Deals” can be found here (scroll down) and go live at different times throughout the day allowing you to save BIG (and remember, you can combine gift cards with store coupons to save even more!).
Even sweeter, Prime members get a 30-minute early access to select Amazon Lightning Deals. If you see something that you like, be sure you snatch it up right away as there are only a limited number of Lightning Deals available and they tend to expire quickly.

What am I missing on these gift card deals? Is the deal that you pay less for the gift card?
I don’t get the big deal either. It is only a good deal if they are discounted in some way or maybe people have a lot of Amazon credit that they can use to buy these cards???
The $50 gift cards tend to be selling for $40, whereas the $25 gift cards have usually been selling for $20. There’s no guarantee they will be that price, but yes, they are all selling below face value on the lightning deals. 🙂
They are discounted. So a $50 gift card will probably only cost $40. I bought a $25 card for only $20.
The deal is that there is a discount on the gift card. Take the AMC card for instance. If you go to the theater a lot buying a discounted gift card makes sense. Especially if you go the theater a lot and will be spending the money anyway!
When the deals go live they’re anywhere from 10-20% off the value of the gift card. For instance, I got a $20 gift card to Claire’s on a lightning deal Tuesday for $16 shipped and got it the next day in the mail. If the deal isn’t live, you won’t see the deal price yet. Hope that helps.

The gift cards are typically 20% off which is why it’s such a good deal. Most places don’t discount gift cards like that.

There is a link in the write-up at the top or you can go to the amazon home page, click today’s deals, go to lightning deals, sort by category – gift cards and only the gift card offers for today will show up.
The $50 Brinker card is $40.
When you post timed offers perhaps the time zone should be designated!

Thanks ladies for the clarification on the gift card deals. My wallet is full of gift cards. I always stock up around Christmas. So many places offer excellent rewards for buying a gift card. I saw on Panera’s website buy $100 gift card and get $15 gift card. It is truly amazing how much money you are able to save with being a savvy shopper. Thanks Collin for your hard work and introducing me to this crazy life we call couponing.
