Can anyone explain the differences in this and subscribe and save? Is there better deals with one or the other? Thanks so very much!

    • The Centsible Family

I find the difference is you don’t have to buy as many of the product. So instead of a case of 6 you could buy just one item.

    • Diane Larro

subscribe and save is a reoccurring order like say,..paper towels every moth

  2. Maureen

Does this mean no more book credits? 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes, I believe they stopped the book credits and are now offering up the Prime Pantry credit.

      • YG

Bummer! Smart move on amazon though. Increase sale in pantry program but I will miss the free books credit.

      • Bree

I only received one $5.99 credit.. which is the cost to ship it. With my next order I was offered the $1 book credit again.

        • Tom

          Me too Bree

    • CO Mama

Bummer! Really enjoyed the $1 credits here and there! No t a Prime Pantry shopper. Hope they bring it back at some point.

      • rae

When I signed up for prime and it was explaining the benefits it said that the promo for the slower rate shipping varied. So I take that to mean they don’t always offer it and it won’t always be the same type of credits. They may cycle back to the book credit if you think about it it’s really just a marketing tool so if they have a department that needs some promoting that’s where the credit may be aimed.

        • SLS

Agreed! I just ordered some things on Monday and was offered the $1 credit for later shipping using Prime – so I don’t think its gone yet.

  3. terezia

Prime allows you to get free shipping on any prime eligible item. Subscribe and save applies to specific items where you make an order and set it to automatically ship the same order after a duration of time.

  4. Angela

Ugh. I really liked the digital credits. Can you at least do this multiple times and potentially save more than $5.99 on a box?

    • VR

I’m with ya there. I wonder if you can earn multiple credits or if it’s just a one time thing.

      • Lolita

I came here to ask the same thing! If it is a one time thing, maybe they will have some other offer for after you get this one?

    • Kim

Only one time which is a bummer I would rather get prime than have that many prime pantry separate credits.

  5. Laura

    I like this!! Thanks! 🙂

  6. Elizabeth

This is awesome! Prime Pantry is the only place to get Surge soda unless you live in the Southeastern United States where they are testing it out in stores. I hope that we can use more than one of these credits per prime box, but even if we can’t, it will save me money.

  7. barabaszmelissa

anyone have the link to see how many credits we have from the digital $1 offer? i cant figure out how much i have to spend. thanx!!!!!

    • vergin

i would like to know this too. i couldn’t find anywhere or when it expires

      • megan

I always type “amazon promotional credit” into Google and it gives me a page that has a link.

      • dealzgurl

They don’t make it easy for you to know that. I’ve complained to Amazon about that before. So, what I do is either do a chat to find out or refer back to my original email. I just go ahead and use my credit as quickly as possible so it doesn’t expire.

    • Catie

I’ve done a chat with amazon reps to find out before. Thanks for the link!

  8. Elizabeth

I just looked at the terms and conditions, and it says that only one credit can be used per Prime Pantry order. Still good enough for me!

  9. Shelby

Does the box have to be a certain % full? I got it to 33% (about 10 items) and the no-rush shipping wasn’t available.

    • Kim

I don’t think that’s how it works. You choose no rush shipping on a non-pantry order and when that ships you get the credit to use on a future pantry order. 🙂

    • rae

You’ll have to make a different purchase for the slow shipping like but a phone case or book or something and choose skit shipping for that then you get an email saying you got the credit. It should be ready to use at that time… Then you shop prime pantry.

  10. mary

I actually had some stuff in my cart already and when i went to check out I no longer have the option to do no rush shipping. it gives me the option of either free standard or free 2 day shipping. BOOOO… I like the no rush shipping because then I get one big box with LOTS of stuff instead of a bunch of little boxes…

  11. Brittany

Does anyone know if you can combine the free prime pantry credit with one of the free shipping promos they have going on? For example, if you purchase 4 select coke products, you get free shipping. Could you use the 5.99 credit towards the actual items? I doubt it would work but thought I would ask 😊

    • Jennifer

I was wondering that and if the credit was cumulative…like can you use more than one $5.99 credit per prime pantry order. That would be way too good to be true!

      • Jaime

According to comments above there’s a limit of one credit per order so no you can’t combine

        • Brittany

It doesn’t clarify whether or not it can be combined with a free shipping promo though.

I’ve been looking to do this for shipping items to my son when he goes off to college this fall. The basic meal plan at college will be fine for him as he is more of a snacker. SO I want to ship him as much of the snacks as I can as he is not going to have a car. The free shipping will work nice, but I will miss the free $ off movies.
Has anyone used the service to ship to a college student?

    • Brittany

Do you have Prime? They have several snack options to ship through Prime if you have it.

      • TeresaS

yes I have prime. But most prime are such large quantity and he will have limited space in the dorm room. So I am looking for more variety than quantity.

    • Elise Fuchs

I do both Prime Pantry and other bulk food shipping for my daughter, who’s away at college. It varies. She hasn’t had to pay for much of anything, in terms of food, at school.

About once a month, I fill up a Prime Pantry box with items she’ll need or use. Maybe a 12-pack of soda pop (I know she drinks it, and it beats $1.50+ from a vending machine), single-serve tuna fish with crackers, canned fruit, etc. Now that she’s in an apartment off campus, Prime Pantry is also good for “mom, I’m out of facial wash” items.

Regular Amazon bulk items are good periodically, too. For example, my daughter loves pita chips, and Amazon had a case of Stacy’s that amounted to about 40 cents a bag.

The thing I like most about buying food via Amazon is that I’m more prone to buy stuff that I actually eat and need. At the grocery store, I’m tempted to stock up on sale or impulse purchases that I don’t really want, and likely won’t eat. It’s really cut down on my monthly grocery bill. As for my daughter at college, she’s eating a lot better and a lot more inexpensively than were I to send her the money in cash. And $100 a month on Amazon is a wayyyy better deal than the ridiculous meal plans offered! I’m only mad that I didn’t realize Amazon sold food a long time ago.

  13. Brittany

Can someone explain this whole pantry thing? I guess I’m confused about why you have to fill a box? What’s the point in that verses just ordering what you want with prime and having it ship free?

    • paintfrog

Prime Pantry is like shopping at a regular store. Normally you only buy 1 or 2 of an item. On Amazon regular Prime items (lets say a box of chips) come in packs of 8 or more. So Prime Pantry is a way to do your shopping without buying in huge bulk amounts!
With this $5.99 credit which takes away the cost of shipping (Even with Prime, Prime Pantry has $5.99 shipping), it makes it a good deal!

    • Rich

The quantities are smaller and, sometimes, the prices are even better through Prime Pantry

  14. sarah

Awesome, i look forward to using this! It’s pretty fun getting a prime pantry box in the mail.

  15. traceygmx

I do not see an option for free no rush shipping?? I am a prime member so what am I doing wrong.

  16. Mike

Must be something new that started today. I just placed an order last night on Amazon and had the option to choose No Rush Shipping and get a $1 credit for books, movies or music.

  17. Tobey

So , basically we are getting free shipping. Credit is $5.99 and flat rate shipping is $5.99. They are smart with their promotion.

  18. Karen

Hmmm…..can you earn multiple free credits? Like buy something slow speed, get credit, buy something a few days later, get credit #2, etc? OR buy, get a credit, use on a prime pantry order and then start the cycle again?

  19. Karen

Sneaky and good business for Amazon. Just looked at something that I have purchased before from Prime Pantry. Had been (for eons) $5/box. Now is $5.99/box. Could buy 30 boxes in a Prime Pantry shipment. So……now they can slow ship me something AND come out $24 ahead with the Prime Pantry purchase. If you have purchased before from Amazon Prime Pantry check your past order prices as this may not be THAT great of a deal. Not complaining……just saying.

  20. Lindsay

Can you select a delivery date for Prime Pantry? I’d like to use it for our family vacation this summer but don’t want the box to arrive before we get our rental unit. If you can’t pick a date, how long is the shipping window?

    • Karen

I don’t think you can pick a shipping date. My boxes take a week or so…….I wouldn’t use that as a reference, as I am sure shipping time depends on your location, where it is coming from, etc. Depending on the entity you are renting from and your relationship with them, consider shipping to a neighbor, leasing office, front desk, etc. I would think this would work best when shipping to a hotel (think Disney property) but it might work out for you…..?

  21. Amonra

Anyone know a link where I can check my pantry credit balance?

  22. hmm

Has anyone gotten the 5.99 promo for prime pantry to work? It is not automatically being applied to my order.

  23. Diane Larro

I have 2 $5.99 credits, can u use both at the same time or only 1 per order?
