So if you have two kids being photographed it still costs $9.99? Just trying to clarify fine print for sitting fee. Thanks for posting! Love JCP quality.

    • Sarah

yup, that’s how all the other coupons with a free sitting fee have worked for me.

    • julie

But you can apply $9.99 off their 2-year portrait club (about $30) that saves all sitting fees for your family and currently has THREE $10-off promos for 3 separate sittings.

I think I used the $9.99 savings (somewhat rare), and one of the $10 promos, paid $10 and have been saving on all the sitting fees since.

  2. Arline

    Awesome thanks

  3. Angela

Erica. Yes it looks like would be 9.99 fee for more than 1 unless you already have portrait membership

    • Erica

      Ty! Just wanted to clarify.

  4. Emily

I always go there and usu use more than 1 coupon at a time. See what other coupons you can find to take with you too.

    • Erica

Ok I’ll def check it out. Didn’t know you could combine coupons. Ty

      • julie

Some coupons can be combined and some can’t. I usually use their $3.99 sheet/$7.99 portrait package coupon, and after your session if you fill out a survey, you’ll get a $3 off coupon that can be stacked!

  5. Sjack

So if only 1 person goes for it its totally free ?

    • Erica

      YES

    • alie

      Yes free for one.

      • Gina

I had to pay today. They said this coupon was only if the child had a birthday in april. 🙁

  6. Vergin

So I have 2 kids. how It works out
Do I have to pay for one kid are both of them Will get free

    • Just Me

1 person is free. Additional kid is$9.99

  7. Sona

Hi, went to a JCP store last weekend and they had some coupons on the desk for free sitting fee for all and a free enhanced portrait..u might want to check, it was in the home section, probably that was closest to the studio in that store..

    • julie

I found 1 of those coupons in the children’s section! I forgot about it.

  8. Happymama

The question is…which of my kids is cuter? Just kidding LOL 🙂

    • Gina

      Too funny!

    • visitor3

Or, which of my kids will actually sit still for the photo?
Photographing 1 kid at a studio = 50% chance of getting a good shot.
Photographing 2 kids at studio = 5% chance of getting a good shot.
So I think I’ll do one kid at JCP, take that free 8×10, and then walk us through the mall to Picture People for the $10 pose package for the other kid. Between both deals, it will end up a total of $10 for one 8×10 (JCP) and three sheets (Picture People). Not bad.

      • julie

I usually schedule separate sessions with my kids too, on different days! Then they each can get a package and I get savings, although it does take more time.

  9. Sona

And to the best of my knowledge u cannot combine two promotion, unless it’s a survey coupon..I have been using JCP portraits for last 5 years..

    • Erica

      Oh ok!

    • Emily

I went a week ago and used a $3 off survey coupon, a $25 bday mailer coupon, a $50 certificate from a purchase around xmas, and a 40% off purchase coupon with free 8×10. Also used a groupon with it, all on same sitting.

      • Katie

Wow! that is awesome. My local jcpenney portrait studio will not let you combine any coupons, not even groupon.

  10. Vergin

How much is it for the membership for how many years?
And how many members are included?
    Thanks.

    • Emily

I think $20 to 30 for 2 yr for whole family. I have 4 kids. We’re all included on it.

      • julie

And I was told you can bring in other family, like cousins, aunts, uncles, with you. I’m sure they’re hoping for a HUGE order.

I love JCP quality pictures, but I had a bad experience with the JCP studio in Tampa. The photographer/studio manager was very nice the day we went in the take pictures.. the day we went to pick up our pictures, the wrong ones were sent and one picture had a bright spot in the middle (an error in development). Now the policy says that if we aren’t happy (especially if there is an error from the company) we are not obligated to purchase the pictures. The lady (I won’t mention her name) said that it was our fault and that we had to pay for the package.. if we wanted the pictures fixed, we would have to order a separate package and pay for that as well. DH and I were not very happy. We called into corporate. They told us that we did not have to pay for the package and they would be happy to send us another set.

    • Katie

We had a really bad experience at a studio in CT – which is funny because we LOVE our home studio here in IL. Just polar opposite sittings. So find a good studio and stick with it I guess, even though the whole point of a chain is supposed to be consistency across locations…

Just a note: for more photos at JCP, check out groupon where there’s a great offer for $20 for one sheet up to 10×13, 3 digital images, and no sitting fees so you can have the whole family in the photo or as many children as you have.

  13. Sheila

Can anyone who uses JCP Portrait Studio tell me the most affordable way to get pics 2x a year for kids. We’ve been loyal Picture People customers for 5 years but our only studio in state has gone through major mgmt changes and horrible quality now. Looking for an affordable company with cheap prints, coupons to use. TIA!

    • Claudia

The most affordable way I would say is through groupon. They have several packages you can pick for and sitting fees are included. Check them out and I’m sure you won’t be dissipated. Hth

    • m

I agree groupon is the cheapest way to go. I also like getting the portrait membership, it was 30 bucks for 2 years. You get free sitting fees (which can cost 9.99 per person per session) they also archive all your sessions then when they have a great deal online you can order (i prefer digital copies so i own them and can make prints, but they can be expensive so i wait for them to go on sale, they also offer larger prints and percentages off allthe time) hth

    • Emily

Portrait perks is a 2 yr program i think its either $20 or 30. You get free sitting fees, 3 $10 off discounts and several other sheets free. They send each of my kids a bday coupon for $25 off. If you buy the groupons they come with a sheet or 2 i think and a 3 image cd. With it you can upgrade to the entire session cd for $99 i think. They always have great coupons online and in magazines or Sunday paper. My studio knows my kids by name as well as their hobbies. Very easy to work with and great photos. I always use multiple coupons. You can’t take 2 40% of coupons and expect to get 80% off or anything but i use a 40% off, bday coupons, survey coupons from prior visits, and groupons all at the same time. Love them!

      • Katie

That is great. My local jcpenney.portrait studio will not let you combine any coupon with a groupon. I have tried twice and was denied both.times. I just had to only use the groupon 🙁

    • Sheila

      Thanks, super helpful!

  14. Denice

So since it says April birthday event does it have to be your birthday in this month? Or can anyone go as long as you have the coupon? Anyone have experience with this?

    • Gina

I went today thinking it would be completely free but ended up being charged since my daughters birthday isn’t in April 🙁

  15. Erica

Also, keep a look out in the kids clothing area. I found several kids clothing items (I bought a clearance shirt for $1.99) with a coupon attached for free sitting fees (all 4 of my kids were free), a free 8×10, 50% portrait package, 3.99 per sheet and a 7.99 portrait package…all on one coupon. We did this Saturday and I spent $25 for 7 sheets.
