Since there are so many deals on kids sunscreen lately… I was wondering if there’s any real difference between kids and adult sunscreen? Does anyone know? Looking to stock up for an upcoming Caribbean trip and don’t really feel like paying triple the cost for “adult” branded sunscreen if it’s all the same!
I often use the kids for the cheaper cost & high a SPF. I can’t say I have noticed much difference.
If anything its better because it’s stronger sometimes it’s difficult to rub in but def worth it to not pay triple just cuz you’re an adult
I got red if use adult (35spf) but not if use kids (50spf) and kids are cheaper and better quality imo
The difference is the ingredients. Children/baby sunscreen is formulated to have less or avoids completely known irritants, as their skin is more delicate. Children/baby sunscreen tends to use physical sunscreen (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) instead of chemical. They under go the same regulations as adult sunscreen.
Yes I agree with others about the ingredients. We used copper tone clearly sheer on my 18 month old nephew and his poor eyes got so red and his nose was running because I guess the ingredients were so irritating. But I have very sensitive skin and it works great for me so I guess the companies know which ingredients to use for kids.
Good question! I’ve been wondering myself if there is a difference.
Thanks for all the responses ladies! I’m definitely gonna stock up on the kids ones instead of paying more… Though I’m sure my poor hubby will be wondering why I’m buying sunscreen when we don’t have babies! HA HA
lol:-) enjoy your vacation:-)
I just asked my board certified dermatologist this question today. In essence, baby sunscreens work more by a physical block, whereas adult sunscreens work more by a chemical block. Physical is safer than chemical. Whole family can use baby sunscreen. She said always use SPF 30, and higher formulations don’t do much more.
Also baby sunscreen is CHEAP only $1 at Dollar Tree.
I have the kids converted to always wearing hats and rash guard shirts now, which is a very cheap solution (vs slathering the entire torso; still slathering faces and limbs) and easier to get the kids to wear. DD sometimes puts the rash guard UNDER her swimsuit so she can see her swimsuit better, c’est la vie!
My cartwheel discount is always subtracted from the price after my coupons.
Mine too … It’s target paper coupons then manufacturer paper coupons then mobile coupons then cartwheel
It really doesn’t matter the order you give your coupons, CW will always deduct AFTER any store coupons. Manuf coupon have absolutely no bearing. So above calculations are correct. Each bottle will actually take off $0.35, so your receipt will show the price of $3.15 + $3.15 less the $3/2 coupon = $3.30.
*IF* there was a store coupon, as an example $2.00 off 2, then it will ring up
$3.50 + $3.50 = $7
– $2.00 store coupon = $5
– $0.50 Cartwheel (10% calculated on $5, $7 less the $2 store offer)
– $3/2 manuf coupon
= $1.50/2
This item is not available at my Target 🙁
