Do u have to do different transactions

    • Bryn (Sister Sidekick)

Nope! You can buy up to 10 items that qualify in one transaction and the Cartwheel will apply to all of them. Yay!

    • cbeths

I think so, depending on how many you buy. I think you can apply the cartwheel to four items. And you can use the cartwheel up to six times in a day?

      • cbeths

        OH… woohoo! thanks!!

    • Anna

This cartwheel applies to 10 items

  2. Heather

    Can this be purchased online?

    • mel

no, cause Cartwheel is in-store only.

  3. Sara

Can I do 10 today and 10 tomorrow? 4 kids = lots of needs for these items!

    • Pao

You can do as many transactions as you want with 10 qualifying items each, dont even need to do it dif days sara, you can do it same day; cartwheel will work on all 10 of them as long as you do it in transactions of 10
Ive done it with another products, on same day without q problem, not even from the cashiers

      • Amy

The fine print says you can use the barcode 6 times per day so I’m thinking 10 items X 6 transactions= 60 items (in one day).

      • Sara

        Perfect!! Thanks

  4. Marisol

Does anyone have a 2016 supply list ?

    • Stephanie

      Google does! 😜

    • Cindy

Our Target has the liss for all the local public and private schools in the school suppy area.

  5. Melissa Rice

My son’s school don’t ask for school supplies. Do other schools provide a school supply list? Just curious.

    • Amy

My kids’ supply list for next year came home in their final report card for this year.

    • Michelle

Yes. My daughter’s school gives them out with the last report card.

    • Ashley

Yes and my daughter needs half of Office Max! 12 jumbo Elmer’s glue sticks, 4 boxes of 24 count crayons, 3 containers of Clorox wipes, 3 containers of wet wipes, 3 boxes of Kleenex and the list goes on and on! They also still make us pay a school supply fee! 😳

  6. cbeths

Our supply list is on the school board website.

  7. lynsyluu

I was able to buy my daughter a thermos with the backpack/lunchbox cartwheel, super happy about that! Regularly $14.99 went down to $11.24!

    • MommySpendsLess

Awesome tip – thanks! We love those 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Such a great score!

    • brittanyrobertsuf

Thank you so much for posting this comment! I grabbed two today!

  8. Melanie

FYI: Walmart has the 2 pack elmers glue sticks for 50¢ right now

    • Cbeths

Thanks! My preschooler needs 8. Which means he’ll probably need 8 more half way through the year. Time to stock up.

      • Daisy

Target usually puts Elmer’s glue 6 or 8 pack (I can’t remember which one) on sale for $.99 at some point for back to school sales. They’ve done it for the past couple years and that’s when I stock up.

  9. Cassandane

Yay for crayons!! These made great preschool Valentine’s Day handouts–Pinterest had a cute printable for “making the world more colorful” to wrap around the box. Fun and a break from all the candy!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What a cute idea! Thanks for sharing!

    • Michelle

I always do a school supply Valentine and grab it all at this time of year! “You rule” w rulers. “I’m stuck on you” w glue sticks. “You’ve got the write stuff” w pens and pencils. “You color my world” w crayons or colored pencils. “You light up my life” w highlighters. The possibilities are endless w a bit of creativity! I just print it out and stick it to a paper heart.

And yes, the teachers LOVE the no candy treats!! Plus, kids always need this stuff by Valentine’s Day 😉

    • Sara

Great idea!!! I love the no candy option!!

  10. Cbeths

Any good deals on nap mats?

  11. e

We have tubs and tubs of school supplies on hand since we have such a herd of kids, and the teachers know to come to us if they need something. I buy anytime I see good prices anywhere I go, especially back to school clearance. I always like to buy more though but we haven’t gotten any lists! I want to snag those Crayolas but if I buy a ton of 24 packs they will want the 64 pack or something. Why haven’t they produced the list!!! I have time this week to buy the maximum amount of packs per day this week. The specificity kills me when it comes to these lists. Brand quality I understand but what are they doing with 23 shades of blue crayolas! 😂

    /vent

  12. kim

I used to buy these for many of the kids in schools just because i like school supply shopping weird i know but it meant alot to the kids.

  13. Lindsey

If any of you pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, now is a great time to stock up! 🙂

    • Amy

What are some items that go in these boxes??

      • Michelle

Pencils with SHARPENERS. Colored pencils. Crayons. Scissors. Paper. Erasers.

        • Deb

Yep, I did my school supply shopping for my OCC boxes at Target today!

  14. mommyx4

I’m my school district everyone from 2nd grade on its all done on a chromebook I really don’t know how to shop for supplies for my kids anymore. Anyone else what do kids really need

    • Amy

The charity in my school district is asking specifically for pencils, markers, notebooks and crayons.

    • Melissa

Some things on the elementary list are usually ziploc bags, baby wipes, Kleenex, expo markers, post its, composition books, 2 pocket folders in a variety of colors, washable markers and loads of glue sticks.

  15. Catie

Can you repost your school supply price point list? I always find that to be fairly handy 🙂

  16. Adriaddiemom

At back to school time last year people were discussing the best quality backpacks. I ignored the post and ended up with broken backpacks from Disney and Target. I would like to get it right this year and get one that will last.

    Suggestions please!!

    • Deb

LL Bean, Land’s End, Jansport. I’m a big fan of the LL Bean ones and their lifetime guarantee.

      • Beth

Under armor is a great brand bought 2seven years ago for my boys they have beat them up through elementary middle and high school plus used them for vacations wrestling tournaments and they still look brand new. I bought them at to max my oldest son now uses it for college. It was the best $20 I ever spent

    • Amy

We have 2 LL Bean backpacks. My son has used it for 2 years and will use again this year. My daughter used hers last year and will again this coming year. They are first grade and fourth grade.

      • Adriaddiemom

Thanks Deb & Amy! I’ll start looking at the LL Bean bags!

        • Stacy

Last year LL bean had a great sale at the begaining of August. I think it was 1/2 off backpacks with free monograming and shipping. I bought 2 for my sons both in preschool and they will use them again this year! It did take several weeks to get the bags though because of all the orders and we didn’t have them for the first day of school.:(

          • Stacy

Oops sorry this was lands end.

            • Adriaddiemom

I keep mixing them up too! Are you happy with lands end quality? They have 30% off right now.

        • Cassandane

I got the Lands End backpacks last year, too. They are great quality, the embroidery didn’t snag and the prints were cute (polka dots!). I let my oldest add a Frozen keychain instead of getting a character backpack. Easier to switch out the latest favorite Disney character than being stuck w that design all year. I even bought my 2yr old the smallest backpack, which was perfect for car trips or visits to Gma’s house. 🙂

    • Jessica G

I have 5 kids and we have tried all types of bookbags and from all different stores (Target,Kohls ,Walmart and Office Max) . But my boys all still needed new bookbags this year since theirs didn’t last. We bought my daughter a Jansport 2 years ago and it is still in perfect condition and she’s in middle school so she puts it to use with all those heavy books . So hopefully I can find good deals on some Jansport bags this year because they are the best I have found .

      • Denise G.

Check Ross (if you have one) for affordable Jansport.

      • Josie P

Highsierra is having 50% off selected backpacks I order one two weeks ago. I just received it yesterday and I love it! I went in today to see if I can get one for my other daughter and I am happy to say they had a new design and I paid 13 for it!

    • Heather

For elementary school children I’ve found Pottery Barn Kids and Gymboree to be of great quality and seriously last years! GAP used to be the same way but recently changed to cheaper feeling material. I wait for them to go on sale…and when that coincides with a coupon and free shipping they’re pretty cheap…comparable to Walmart and Target prices!

    • Sara

      Lands End

      • Adriaddiemom

It looks like Lands End has much cuter styles for kids than LL Bean. Anyone have experience with Lands End? How is the quality?

Also, I have a 1st grader. Is the classmate small too small? Will it hold a regular sized folder? Thanks!!!!

        • Stacy

Great quality, I bought one last year for my son in prekindergarten and I looks brand new after I washed it( it got very dirty he like to drag it). He will use it again this year. They had a great sale at the state of August last year 50% of with free monograming and shipping.

    • DonnaDB

Pottery Barn Kids and Teens backpacks are of extremely good quality, look on ebay or consignment sales for reasonable prices.

    • Emma

I’ve also had great success with Lands End and Jansport. My son has had 3 years with his Lands End and it’s still going. My older daughter’s Jansport went for 3 years before she wanted a new design….well the Disney one I got for my 6 year old had the zipper break halfway through the year, so I passed her big sister’s 3 year old Jansport backpack on to her to use the rest of the year. I would not hesitate on those brands at all.

    • Rose

I have bought Walmart,Target etc and wasnt happy my kiddos backpacks wear tearing up in the middle of the school year. I bought A Jansport backpack for my middle school daughter and she had a rip after 2 years of use and thanks to Hip2Save I send it in for the life time warranty. They didnt have the same backpack so they let my daughter pick a different new one 😊. As for my little ones I bought them Childrens place and it lasted the whole school year I was Impressed and also ordered some for this school year.

    • Patty

Lands end has the best backpacks and they will replace them for free if you have any problems

    • Shannon

Lands Ends bags are amazing. My son had one from age 5-8 and we only got him a new one because he needed to upgrade to larger size. We got him a larger one from Lands End and kept medium size for younger brother.

    • Kim

I bought my grade school boys the adidas Prime backpacks they will be going on 3 years this fall! I paid 50 bucks for each but so worth the money and they have held up and I have hand washed them several times. I also love the size since we live in Minnesota in the winter the kids need to bring snow pants and boots for recess daily they fit perfect in the backpacks to send to and from school.

    • Susanne

For grade K, my son had a Batman backpack, which barely made it till the end of the year. At the start of 1st grade, we bought a Circo backpack on clearance from Target for $7 & a Jansport (originally $50, but paid $10 at Kohls after sales/discounts!). My husband didn’t want our 1st grader to use the Jansport yet, so we started him with the Circo. I was actually impressed with the Circo backpack. It held up great & still looks very close to new after being used & abused the entire school year. The Jansport still hasn’t been used yet, but seems very sturdy/well made & also includes a lifetime guarantee. Good luck on the backpack search!

  17. Julie

My cartwheel said 4 items per transaction and 6 transactions per day.

People in line were mad at me for doing separate orders. lol

    • Cbeths

Most say that but the school supply one says 10 items.

      • Julie

Not mine. My school supply cartwheel said four. I read it a million times. 🙁

        • mel

That’s strange, CW limits should be the same for everyone. Are you sure you’re looking in the right spot? It does say 4 in the fine print, but if the main text of offer details, after the exclusions says Limit 10 per guest.

        • Amy

It says 4 in the fine print, but it says 10 items at the top. I went to target last night and did 5 transactions with 10 items each and had no problems getting the discount on everything.

  18. Katie B

As a (2nd year) K-12 teacher and mom of 4, buy anything you can find a deal on. Teachers and schools will be appreciative of any and all supplies. Teachers spend an average of $500 + per school year on supplies for their classrooms. And its not all tax deductible like businesses. Our public charter school releases school supply lists the last week of school and we post online so parents can reference all summer.

I stock up year round with deals for school and for the home craft closet and have for the last 4yrs. My kids use LLBean backpacks. They are lifetime guaranteed, so worth the price for all the wear and tear. It’s one area I don’t “coupon”. I just throw them in the wash when they are nasty and air dry. Lunchboxes we replace every 2yrs and get ones that can hold a full size water bottle so we cut down on juice box costs.

For HS students, our school has 1:1 chromebooks, but we also require supplies specific to classes. For example, I will teach an Agriculture class this year, so no computers needed. But students will need notebooks, pencils, pens, etc. All schools, classes, ad age groups are different. Best advice = contact your school principal. They can lead you in the right direction and to the teachers who will be with your students.

  19. Laura

I just went to Target and none of the prices were what you listed. I wonder if that was a store special?

    • Susanne

I went yesterday & didn’t see any of the displays/sale prices. I found the 24 ct Crayola crayons on the shelf showing regular price, but when I scanned them at the price check they were only $0.50. I didn’t have time to look for/price check other items, so not sure about the other items.

  20. Josie P

Thank you sooooo much! I just came from target and paid $22 for:
    2-Avery 1inc binders, 2-compositions book, 2-pocket portfolio, 5-notebooks,16-pencils
    4-sharpeners,4-gluesticks, 6-erasers,4-crayolas, 2-24 color pencils,1-12 color pencils,1-Elmer glue,2-scissor,1-pencil pouch !

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So happy you could score such great savings! YW!

  21. livia

I have 3 kids and have used Lands End backpacks for 2 of them. My oldest got his in Kindergarten and it has latest 4 years (was passed to my youngest who just finished K). I bought one for my daughter this year who is in 2nd grade and hers still looks brand new. Never had problems with zippers or holes like other bags that my family has bought them. They are very sturdy and wash well when needed. I sign up for Lands End emails just for their backpack sales lol They have great prints and colors that my kids are attracted to. Happy mom, happy kids- can’t beat that in my book. 🙂

  22. Dodda

Does it include Disney backpacks and lunch boxes ???

    • Carmela

i saw star wars and frozen so i believe yes

  23. nicole

Just an fyi apparently the prices are regional. My target was priced much higher on almost everything posted here. I was able to get the Up&up glue sticks and scissors. But all crayola stuff was at least double in price.
