can parents sign their kids up if they have their info and be able to take advantage of this?

    • Lisa

I’ve signed my adult child up for things, but with this requiring a “.edu” email address, I’d definitely let them know beforehand as any emails might go to their junk mail.

    • Micaela

I’m signed up for it and let my mom use it. She has the log in and gets it sent to her address.

Why not just tell your son/daughter to sign up for themselves? It requires a credit card and for these kinds of subscription deals I don’t think you’re legally supposed to be signing up other people.

  3. Sharon

Do they need to have a credit card in order to sign up for this? Thx!

    • Bethany

      Yes.

If you don’t have a .edu address, but ARE enrolled in college, then Amazon requires “proof” that you are enrolled in an institute of higher learning. Check the Amazon website for more information…

Mine as a parent is 107.96 a year now according to my last bill! Is anyone elses this – don’t understand why it’s so high!

    • Gina

Mine was the same. I opted to cancel this year. We will see how it goes

    • Stephanie

Yikes, might not sign up again if that’s the price:/

    • Emily

It is $99 now and they are probably required to charge tax.

I had this free for 6 months, then for 2 years at $49. My subscription at the lower price just ended in November, and I didn’t renew it at the higher price. When you sign up, they ask for a graduation date, I think that is why I couldn’t get it at the lower price for longer than that (I got it half-way through college, and I’m about to graduate now). I guess that it is better to get it when you have 4 years left of college, or to say that you do.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Good to know!

If you get referred for prime student by a student, you get a $5 or $10 credit. I’ve referred several of my friends.

I love Amazon Student. I’m a doctoral student so I need to save money anyway possible. There are a few things you can’t do with a student account that you can with a normal account. For example, you can’t add an additional person on your account. Overall, I’m satisfied.

If anyone is signing up, I’d appreciate you using my referral link. I have supplies I need to buy for my dissertation and every penny helps when you owe over 100 grand in student loans. Eek

      how rude,,,,also mean…

      • Emily

I took Kim’s statement as a sarcastic joke. A doctor wants patient referrals. This person is in a doctoral program. I took it as a play on words.

        • Julie

I took it as a joke too- until I seen the sad faced emoji. Very rude and mean of Kim but, it’s probably just jealousy.

Is this a limited time offer? Do i need to sign up for free trail by a certain date?
