NEW UPDATE: I am pretty frustrated with 1-800Flowers.com. I purchased 2 boxes of Harry London chocolate yesterday evening and of course, got home and was very disappointed. I went to enter my codes online and as you all know, they no longer work. The whole reason I bought this chocolate was to use the codes, so it’s pretty annoying when they pull promos like this. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I am in the same boat as lots of you… frustrated and annoyed!

Wa-hoooo! If you love chocolate and flowers, then I have the deal for you! …AND it couldn’t have come at a better time with Valentines Day just around the corner!

CVS has red heart shaped boxes of Harry London chocolate on sale for $9.99. Plus, select boxes have white peelie coupons on them valid for a FREE $20 1-800Flowers.com “Fresh Pass”. These $20 passes can be used like gift cards on 1-800Flowers.com purchases and they can also be stacked for even more savings! People are reporting being able to stack 3 $20 passes to score $60 off, so basically getting $60 flower arrangements for practically nothing! Plus, 1-800Flowers is offering up FREE shipping on quite a few arrangements!

Also, it has been reported that Walgreens has the small boxes of Harry London chocolate hearts priced at just $5 with a peelie for a FREE $10 1-800Flowers.com “Fresh Pass”! And I’ve heard that some may even have $20 Fresh Passes!

If you’re interested in getting in on this deal, walk or should I say run on over to Walgreens or CVS and snatch up some chocolate! I would suggest purchasing 2 boxes for a total of $19.98 or $10 + tax (depending upon if you find the peelies on the small or large boxes). Yes, this may seem high, but for that $10 to $20 spent, you’ll not only get 2 boxes of chocolate, but also up to $40 to spend on 1-800Flowers.com! Sounds good to me!

Come back and let us know if you’re able to find these peelies!

(Thanks, SD & Rhonda!)

My Walgreens did not even carry these chocolates. 🙁 I found the boxes of chocolate at my Ralph’s (Kroger affiliate) but none had peelies. (did not look as if they ever did) “sigh” oh well I guess no flowers here. 🙁

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but I’m surprised that you are shocked that they are pulling this crap. 1800flowers and Harry London are both affiliated with Fannie Mae (in fact, the Harry London phone number goes to Fannie Mae), who keep pulling this crap. I wasted my time and energy on a FM deal last year and won’t mess with them or any of their affiliated companies again. It’s just frustration waiting to happen. If I were any of you, I’d file a BBB complaint (maybe even an FTC complaint).

Just wasted 1 hour of my time on telephone . No results. I am to set a box of candy on scanner or else tear off the bar code & destroy the box, before I give it to someone, to prove I bought it. I have 6!!! boxes. All the same bar code. Won’t take a picture of all six lined up on couch which would make more sense. So I could take a picture of one … See Morebar code and make 100 copies!!! What an intellegent company. So I get to spend the rest of my day writing corporate and fighting over something that was suppose to be an easy rebate. Won’t deal with this company again after this. I will be writing every blog I know of about this. Free publicity! My attorney general will also hear about this. Good luck people. You are dealing with some bad customer service!

    Collin,
I don’t know how you stomach the ignorance of some of your readers. Like many I’ve followed your blog for some time now but have noticed a childish trend. Your blogs appear to be a form of therapy, if you will, for some and many are using it to vent frustrations! I believe my co-pays are $10 for that service. Something to think about!! God bless you!!!
On another note “Jennifer,” I have over 6 years experience as a Police Officer and in my store they were advertised as “with purchase.” Further investigation (one of my many job requirements) revealed the reason 800-Flowers locked down this promo was due in part to abuse/theft of “peelies!” Collin I admire your integrity as well as your HONEST readers.

    @ Laura
    U mad?

Does anyone have advice on what we should do in this situation? I have my receipt saved (I bought two boxes), but am debating…. I didn’t really need the chocolates, so I’m not sure whether I should just return them (which seems funny to return, especially because I had already removed the peelies and set them aside), or if I should make sure I should also save the UPC from the box, before I give them out (which will also look funny!)

I just don’t want 1-800-flower to get away free with this mess (which they made) but I don’t know what to do either. Any new update ,anybody?

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

This is really disappointing. I would understand if it was an internet code and it was going around to all the different forums, but THEY printed them out and put them on the chocolates. Did they really think that people wouldn’t use them?

    • Joe Mony

I was thinking about same thing. They know how many coupons out there .So how people can abuse this promo?

My sister in law just got off the phone with Harry London Co. They told her to order what she wanted and then fax them the receipt showing that she purchased the chocolate with the UPC codes and the receipt from the flowers and they would credit her back. They said they suspended the codes because it was reported people were taking them off the chocolates without purchasing them. By the way she was also able to get the red satin hearts for 4.99 on sale with a $20.00 code at Walgreens today.

I got a really nice man named Jeremy at the 1-800-Flowers number and after being on the phone with him for an hour, he was able to give me my two coupons stacked and free shipping–I sent 18 red roses supposedly for free. He took my card and said he was able to cancel the charges right after the order was put in on his end. I was glad I read a bunch of the posts so I knew what to expect..

    • J

K how were you able to do that? Can you plz advise us?

Every1 seems to be limited to 1 coupon per order n’ the $20 will be SUPPOSEDLY refunded to your CC after you they receive ORIGINAL proof of purchase. I already don’t trust this company & feel weary of sending them my 1 and only original copy of my receipt.

  10. Sarah

Gals – It makes me very nervous they are now telling us the will reimburse our credit cards the amount of the coupons after the fact. I don’t think I want to go down that road with them…I have a bad feeling it would turn into a fight to actually get anything reimbursed. I too feel like they shouldn’t get away with this…they are the ones that ran the promotion and although there were people out there that abused it they put a certain amount of coupons out there so why weren’t they expecting those coupons to be used? I have a couple of coupons left and I’m just going to wait and see if maybe I’ll be able to use them for Mother’s Day…

  11. Adorned

I received my order today (as posted somewhere above). I had purchased 5 boxes with the $20 peelies The only thing I noticed that was different was they charged me tax- it was advertised no shipping or tax, but I am happy.
I didn’t realize all this awfulness was going on. It’s sad. I didn’t know people would be ebaying peelies, I didn’t feel good about just taking peelies, although I am sure it’s to bound to happen. I wouldn’t feel good about myself, I mean it’s already a fantastic deal! I guess it got ruined. I was happier before I read all this.

  12. cheaters never prosper

If anyone on here wants to blame anyone for the fiasco that has unfolded, please note post: “If i seen one i would take it too. Sorry but i’m just being honest.” Seriously? Just goes to show why this world is the way it is. Simply greedy people who all want something for nothing. Is this really something that your proud of? I mean, really? Is this the kind of morals you teach your children, no I’m sure your one of those hypocrites, when in all reality you no better off then a thief. Although I’m sure in some way in the messed up back corners of your mind you are somehow able to justify your thinking. Kudos to the ones that actually have some morals, because that seems to be a lost value in this sad world today. Its all about drama, creating it with any morsal you can find, trying to make a buck of someone elses hard earned dime, and wanting everything given to you for nothing. And should you not get your way? Well, watch out, because the ones that cause the most drama, cry and complain their going to call the Att. Gen. Office, the BBB, corporate, ring up god and cry to him of the injustice done to them, are the ones that are usually the most guilty of doing something wrong in the first place. How dare they try to make me PAY for something!! Now isn’t that a concept? We know you all crying and complaining are hard working scammers, and feel all your hard work should be rewarded. But this is nothing new, there can be nothing good in this world because there will always be the mass of you out there that will screw it up for everyone, and then be the first ones to cry foul. So to each on of you crying about the injustice done to you (when in reality, what have you really lost? Nothing. You still got those chocolate you “paid” for, the coupon was just a bonus so nothing was lost to you) please look to your neighbor, your friend, your family who bragged about their awesome deal, or probably yourself, because if you want to be really honest as you claim to be, we all know these company’s are only guilty of trusting dishonest people.
