Restaurant.com has a new 80% off promotional code:

Take 80% off of $25 Gift Certificates and pay ONLY $2!
Just use promo code BITE
thru 3/16!

For a total of just $2, you’ll end up getting a $25 gift certificate! I always stock up on certificates when they are 80% off. They don’t expire for a year after purchasing, so you’ll definitely have lots of time to make use of them.

Or for an even better deal, you can purchase the Dinner of the Month Club. What’s that? It’s a 12 month package that comes with 12 $25 gift certificates and one FREE $50 gift certificate! The total for this package would be $120, but after you type in promo code BITE—your total will drop down to just $24! Wahoo! That means you’re snagging $350 worth of dining certificates for ONLY $24!

Did anybody else have a serious drop in restaurants participating in their area? 🙁 A bunch of the ones I’d been seeing for months just vanished, and I’m not super happy about what’s left. Does anybody know if they run in cycles, or how does this work? I don’t think it’s worth getting more at this point…

    • OiOi

Well, I’m in a small town and we’ve had two restaurants listed as participating for a while and now when I just checked it’s down to 1 restaurant participating – so we lost 50% of participating restaurants! lol.
I hope you didn’t lose out on some of your GCs with restaurants that are no longer participating – maybe contact restaurants.com to see what they can do for you.

woot! just got $45 worth for $3.80! The code works for the $10 certificates too!

You can also earn 21 swagbucks with this deal if you go to their special offers page. The offer is on wall 2 second page. Every little bit helps.

  4. Wendy

Thanks for the swagbucks tip, Christina. There are actually more restaurants participating in my area than before. My hubby and I just used one last Saturday and he was amazed at how much we saved.

Any New York City readers or travelers out there? I am planning a trip there with my daughter this summer and would love to get some restaurant certificates to use while there. Any recommendations for places to eat? Also, any general NYC tips or websites you can recommend? Thanks!

This is probably a dumb question but I want to be sure I understand before I purchase. If a restaurant has a minimum purchase amount, example $50 that means the bill most be at least $50 (and meet any other requirements of course) and then subtract the gift card amount and pay only the difference. Is that correct? I just want to be sure the minimum purchase is not after the gift card amount. It doesn’t sound like it, but hoping to verify with others that have used restaurant.com before. Thanks!

    • Janet

Yes. For example, you purchase a $25 gift certificate and the maximum purchase has to be $35. You will end up pay only $10 because they will take off the $25 gift certificate. Also see if there’s a gratuity involved. I’ve seen some around 18%. HTH.

      • Janet

Whoops. I meant to say minimum not maximum.

    • Kelly

Say your minimum is $35 (most of them are), so you purchase $40 worth of food (drinks are NOT Included), then you hand over the $25 gift cert, and pay the $15 difference PLUS an 18% (minimum) gratuity. I just did this with a few friends last weekend and it would have been a fabulous deal but we were all without the kids, so of course, a few drinks were purchased. For just our food total we paid $25…NOT bad for 4 people!! (won’t tell you how much the drinks came too though. whoops.)

    • Cheryl

Thanks Ladies! That is what I thought and just wanted to verify! YAY! We are getting several with the 80% off deal and we have a $50 restaurants.com gift card to redeem and use that came with my valentine’s flowers!

  11. Tracy

Awesome deal – lots of participating restaurants in my area!! Thanks!!

  12. Kelly

This promo code also works with their giftcards! So what I do is order 10-20 $25 giftcards for myself or friends. (with the promo code comes to $20-$40 total) The best part about doing this, is you don’t have to designate which restaurants you want to go to until you are ready to print the certificate. You can also use the $25 gift cards to purchase $10 certificates, the $5 will just remain in your account, and in some cases, they will let you purchase three $10 certificates with one $25 gift card!! (even more savings) I love these, I couldn’t tell you how much money we have saved using them.

  13. Retta

Also if you go through ebates, you get 15% off 🙂

    • Retta

or cash back, rather…. you know what i mean!!

  14. Melissa

I know it has the terms under the price of the restaurant. However, I see that some of them spefically mention the dine-in only. The one I bought does NOT say this. When I printed it out there is a long list of terms, one being dine-in only unless otherwise stated. Does this mean I cannot use it for carryout even though it was not mentioned under the terms previously? Thanks

  15. Kristy

Okay – has anyone else had a problem with the restaurant (in my case, a pizza place) not accepting the coupon and how to get a refund from restaurant.com? Thanks! Kristy

  16. Angela

We bought one of these and it was a total rip off! The restaurant was doing a beer and wine special and they said we could not use our gift certificate with the drink special. All of the comments I read say the restaurants won’t take these.

  17. Brenda

Vacationing in FL Santa Rosa Beach area. I see some of our favorite places on the list. Anyone know what happens if I purchase now then these places are no longer participating in June and July when we go on vacation?

  18. Christie Funkhuser

I got one for when we go to Saint Petersburg, But it says we have to spend 45 dollars to use it and a 18 percent gratitude

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)
