Target Deals 3/14-3/20
Numerous readers are having issues with being able to stack a Target coupon and manufacturer coupon together on one item. Well, the good news is that Target’s coupon policy clearly states that you can use both coupons together on one item. Their policy also states that if the value of the coupon is higher then the value of the item, then they can adjust the coupon down. Plus, their coupon policy in now available to view online here and price matching policy here. Print them off and keep them with you every time you shop at Target. You also may want to read more about the coupon issues people have been encountering and what can be done about it here.
**Also, Target is now giving a $0.05 credit for each reusable bag you use when checking out! I’m excited about this. It’s just another great way we’ll be able to save at Target. I would call ahead to make sure your local Target is participating.

One of my inserts today had a $1.75 off ground beef coupon when you buy 2 jars of Classico tomato sauce.

I went to Target on Friday and bought the Physician’s Formula Organics Bamboo compact with the try me free sticker and the powder insert. Used the BOGO Facebook coupon and thought I would only get $5.99 off for the compact, but the cashier took off $8.99 for the powder. I’m going to do the rebate and get both for free!! Yay, happy dance.
I always bring my reusable bags and NEVER get the 5cent credit….do I have to ask for it!
I always remind the cashier as some will not automatically do it. Last night I had to go to customer service to get my .5 credit as the cashier decided to argue with me that Target only gives the credit for Target bags, not any reusable bag I bring in. This isn’t the case and informed him of that and he continued to tell me he was right. I went to customer service and got my .5. I then got home and realized he only scanned 3 of my 4 $4 coupons, so I had to go back to the store and have all his coupons pulled and they gave me $4.
I hate when they don’t scan the 5 cents! A lot of them do think it has to be a Target bag, that is definitely not the policy.
I hate when they do that. I always hand them coupons 2 at a time and have had to argue with a few cashiers that want me to give them the whole stack. Every time I had done that in the past they missed at least one, so I no longer hand over the stack. I politely tell the cashier that I am in control of my personal finances and that includes my coupon savings.
I tried to get 4 of the Johnson and Johnson Soap Buddies with the $1 off coupon last week and the manager told me that it had to be a BABY product. I have also done the neosporin/Band-aid deal at Target and my coupons beeped. Not having a lot of luck with Target, and it’s very discouraging. I would rather shop Walgreens or CVS where I have had virtually no problems with coupons.
You have to take controll and find a young cashier that doesnt look stuck up…then tell them what to do….pick a young guy they dont care about coupons they beep and they push the button to sayok….and also it will always beep if the product is lower then coupon
I have had the same problem with the Soap Buddies and I just ask, “Why do you then put the Soap Buddies in the baby aisle?!” Then I go on to say that on the Johnson & Johnson website Soap Buddies are listed as a baby product.
I always have to remind the cashier!!!

Shopping at target for “FREE” items is always a stressful experience. Inevitable something will beep and the confused cashier will tell me I am not “allowed” to do something when I know perfectly well that their policy says it’s okay; even when I bring THEIR printed policy form. It doesn’t seem worth it for the few dollars that I do save with them. BLAH!
The Target in Eugene, OR, wouldn’t let me use the J&J coupon for the bath buddies soap. Cashier said it had to be one of the products illustrated on the coupon. Customer Service indicated that bath buddies was not a baby product (even when I questioned what it was doing on the shelf with the other “baby” products). Just a little frustrating…
Still love shopping at Target, tho. Thanks for all the deal scenarios–I thought I was good before, but, I continue to learn from you. Appreciate the time you take to explain the best way to shop.

I LOVE MY TARGET! They are always so good to me. It saddens me when I read so many problems at Target. I use the $1.00 coupon all the time for the soap buddies, no problems. Today my total before coupons was $261.55, after I used my gift cards (that I role each time there are sales, so that is just less out of pocket) gift card use was $50.00 and got back $50.00, anyway, my total out of pocket was………are you ready, I about fell over $40.49! Seriously, after my coupons the fusion cartridge razor refills cost me $.99 each! WHOO HOOOOOOOO! it was a great day at Target for me. I go there at least 3 times (sometimes more) a week, just mainly because I love the store and could spend hours there! They know me and are so kind! Great, now that I just posted this, my luck will change:):) Maybe it is just because where I live, not sure, but I have cashiers that LOVE for me to go through their line because they can’t wait to see how much I save. I actually had one of the cashiers today tell me and I quote “when I grow up and have kids, I want to be just like you”, “you do such a great job and it is so fun to ring you out because I know you are hardly going to pay anything”. I always go on Sundays and it seems that it is the same cashiers:) I am sorry for everyone elses troubles with Target!!! Good Luck! I wish I could help and make your experience easier:)

WOW! I am going to Target with my coupons for the first time tomorrow. I have been using coupons for about 5 months now but because of all of the “horror” stories about Target I haven’t braved it yet lol. WISH ME LUCK!!!
@Natalie- my Target in Rowlett, TX. told me the same thing. The cashier said it had to be one of the items pictured on the coupon. I didn’t want to make a scene so I just politely told her to take them off after the manager verified that they wouldn’t accept it. I don’t know why Target is so strict with coupons, I don’t have problems anywhere else around here!
yea i have no problems with one of my targets but the other one i wanna strangle the cashiers and managers…its only that one too….they told me that a coupn that said jumbo pack was the big boxes and wanted to try arguing with me after i showed where it said jumbo on the pack….i told her i know my coupons dont mess with me and she just rang it through….and another one was i was gettinghose scotch hair removers for $3.99 and the coupons were for $4 off and the cashier said she cant take them when they are below …its a new policy…i said a new policy since yesterday and she called the manager the manager was like its just fine…that lady cashier was jealous of my couponing skills lol….anyways young boys are the easiest when going through cashiers

i had an employee help me and she said they must not have it….but…i did finally find it in the toy section, there was a section down one of the isles marked hand held games, they were all haning on pegs and they were hiding behind another game. they had a bunch of them but the other game was so big you could not see the bop it game. good luck!
I finally found it in my Target tonight. It was in the Toy isle with the Nerf stuff and Electronic games like the Simon Key chain and the remote control helicopters and stuff. I had been there 3 times looking and could not find it. Got the last one tonight!!! Not Battleship for me though….
My Target is set up with Toys in the back of the store across from electronics. I know the layout of these like the back of my hand. The other Target in my area is set up with Toys to the right of the right hand entrance facing the store and I can never find anything in that one.

The hand held Battle Ship games are on clearance at my Target for $2.82.
This actually happened at WalMart, but when I tried to purchase the Bath Buddies and use the $1 coupon, the cashier REFUSED. She said that b/c the value of the item was $.97, I couldn’t use a $1 coupon. I told her she could manually adjust it and she looked at me like I was a crook and emphatically told me that she could not and no other store could either. I read their coupon policy and didn’t see anything related to this. This ever happen to anyone?

I printed out their policy that I received when I e-mailed walmart.com and a manager told me I got scammed b/c that is not their policy. It was referencing them using other store coupons. They also don’t let me use 2 coupons if one of them is bogo. Its very frustrating. I don’t use my coupons there very often.

I usually have a good experience at target, except when i go on sunday nights……this all came flashing back to me when i went to check out tonight…..my total was for about 300.00 and sure i had a huge stack of coupons, so i understand when the polite cashier needed help, i do not blame her for caring about her job, but the brainless LOD -lead on duty- was a pain. after she was trying to rob ME of money by not taking items off i told her to take off, instead she was taking off more COUPONS! i told them to give me back all my coupons and i walked out. i will be emailing corp. i even had their coupon policy with me. she tried to tell me she got a letter from corp and couldnt take my coupons, i forget which ones, i wanna say gillette, and when i asked to see this she said she didnt have it…..so she was lying to my face, i will be telling corp about this …..ugh i was just hoping for a non-stressful trip as it was going to be my last for a while…….giving birth any day to a third little one 😛 oh well i will try again at another store this week.
Well, I just had a disapointing trip to Target. My lunchables were sold out along with the crest toothpaste. They did have the steam & mash potatoes, but said the B2G1 promo didn’t count for those since they had them on clearance for $2.40. I politely said that the sign said ANY Ore Ida potato 20 oz. or more was B2G1, but still they wouldn’t budge. Urgh! I was able to pick up my free Air Wick starter kit though. But I’m so disapointed…..
Your comments made me feel better–sorry, but you know what they say, “Misery loves company.” I guess part of my frustration is the inconsistency. I guess I’ll just keep trying and hope the positive outcomes outweigh the negative. Happy shopping.
Oops…the comment is in the wrong place! Sorry. I do, however, have a comment regarding clearance items. This isn’t about Target, tho. My local Safeway acted like it was a huge imposition because they had charged Body Wash at the clearance price, therefore, the computer wouldn’t recognize the coupon. I couldn’t believe the checker didn’t just put the cents-off in manually. There was a good outcome, tho…a lead told him that was how to do it, thus I bought the product for just $.50!
I just had a wonderful experience at target….got 14 of the gillette mvp razors with 2 blades in them for 47.86 out of pocket…minus the 35 in target gift cards that makes it 12.86. Also got 2 of the monopoly card games, they used the coupons no problem. So for 3 bags of cleaners/razors/shampoos/deodarants/card games/ battery powered toothbrushes after gift cards i spent 41 dollars.

yes Tara… The companies target (get it?) offers to specific geographic areas sometimes, but you can print them off and use them…. usually the are 90210, 63366, etc…

I so do NOT like the Target in Olive Branch,MS they refuse to take coupons on anything that beeps(like my tide $1 off, $1 off for my buddy bars, couldn’t get the $5 gift card & use my coupon) the manager said if the picture dosent match then yopu can’t use it & no coupons will be taken on travel sized items. I told the man that’s not what it says on the coupon & he said they were having to crack down on the coupon useage. I don’t know that I will go there much any more they always are so difficult. Anyone else in my area experiencing the same thing? Ugggggggg
how come I can’t print my coupons twice. I did the back space etc. and it just said thank you. I can do it on other sites. I thought you could print target ones twice. Maybe I am wrong…anyone?
Jen, some of the Targets are one time prints, some are two. Once you have printed it the number of times allowed it will disappear from the category listings number on the left and no longer show up. You will need another computer to print any more.
My Target also had the Connect 4 game for $10.09, and there is a $4/1 Hasbro coupon and a $3/1 Target coupon, so it ends up being around $3 for this item. I picked up some for birthday gifts. 🙂 My Target is pretty good about coupons-but you have to be selective abot your cashier. If you see a young guy, that is usually your best bet. If you know that all of your coupons are legit and that you are doing nothing wrong, pick a cashier that will give you the least amount of problems- which, in my experience, is teenage guys. 🙂 Joke around with them, talk to them… no problems here!
I had a super great day today. My day began at Walgreen’s I got the excedrin (2) and (3) toy’s for my boy’s and spent .53 cents. I bought the Sudafed PE first and got $5 in RR plus coupons. Total out of pocket was ($5.53). Then I headed over to CVS. There I got (6) Degree deodorants, a pack of Gillet razors and (2) Safe Guard deodorants , used my RR , coupons total ($ 5.83) and got back $4 in RR. The funny part is that when I looked back there were 2 lady’s looking for the same deal. Sorry lady’s I beet you to it there were none left:( :).
That’s kinda mean to wipe out with 6 deodorants. I suppose you’ll be the one selling them at a yard sale later this summer.
Not sure of Tiny’s situation but I have 6 people in my family, so 6 deodorants is not a stretch, even if she is single why does it matter if she purchased 6. She is a paying customer just like everyone else. The point of couponing is to stock up when you get a fabulous deal. I got 14 razors yesterday and I’ll go back later this week and get 20 more and I don’t feel a lick bad about getting them for less than .50 instead of their normal 9.94
Kinda mean… then I must be the deodorant and body wash GRINCH. I literally wipe Target out of the $1.79 Gillette body wash (24) and deodorant (12), Old Spice body wash (24) and deodorant (24) in one trip. I am happy to say that I plan to use none of it and be the smelliest man on the planet!!! Instead I am going to list them on Ebay and make some bank!!!!

Today at Target I did pretty good. I brought 3 Hasbro card games ($5.24 each) and used the B2G1 Hasbro coupon from the USA Weekend, and I used two $5/Monopoly game. I also brought Johnson & Johnson Baby Qtips ($1.39) using a $1/J&J baby product, Oral B stages tooth brush ($1.99) using a $1/manufacturer’s coupon and $1 off Target coupon, Dora Band Aids ($1.89) using a $1/manufacturer’s coupon and $1 off Target coupon, and 2 Battleship Hand Held games (clearanced to $2.49) using two $3 off Hasbro coupon. Of course all the coupons beeped and I had to show the cashier that I did purchase what was required. But he was a teenage boy who could have cared less. So after all coupons my total was 0.14 plus $1.07 tax for a total of $1.21. Hubby had to see the receipt to believe!

Warning on the MC’s from the Hasbro site: They print in the middle or bottom of the page, so make sure you use a full sheet of paper! Isn’t that weird?
I also tried to purchase the soap buddies and the cashier first said it was because it had to be a baby item. I them pointed out that the soap is located in the baby section. She then said I could not use the coupon because the value of the coupon was higher than the price of the item. I told her the coupon policy states that Target accepts coupons that have a higher value than the item but marks the value of the coupon down. She told me that was not true and I was not allowed to use the coupon. I then went to customer service and received the same response. I to have been having problems using any coupons at Target and have stopped shopping there unless I need something from there I can not purchase at another location.

A lot of times my target is sold out of the great sale items, like the airwicks that are free after the coupons, and it took me 3 weeks to be able to do the Special K fruit crisps deal. I swear sometimes I think they are just hiding the good deals in the back until the special price is over. 😉

Well, apparently, Target is giving overage any more on coupons. I got a bunch of stuff free today but when I looked at the receipt they had adjusted the coupon prices down. Which was find…I did buy other things and the overage would have been nice. I am in TN and my brother in FL is having the same problem. I even showed the policy and they said they didn’t care what the policy said…they didn’t do that. Anyone else having this problem??

Anyone try to purchase the gilette mens body wash at target? My target had them marked down to 1.79, so i picked up two, and the coupon says 4.00 off of any two the cashier said it does not equal up to 4.00 dollars and we wont get reimbursed for the coupon! Also my target gives you a hard time on the trial size items. Its so frustrating!!
