New $1/2 Planters Coupon + Commissary Deal!
There’s a new Planters coupon available– this is not as high value as the previous coupon, but hey… it’s still going to save you money! Just become a fan of Mr. Peanut on Facebook (if you haven’t already), then click on the “NCAA Sweeps” tab. After doing so, scroll down and you’ll be able to print a coupon valid for $1 off any two Planters Product (5.75-21.25 oz)! Hit your browser back button to print a total of 2 coupons.
One of my big tips to new couponers is to think outside the box when purchasing products to go with a coupon. What I mean by this is when a coupon states it’s valid on ANY item in a product line– you can buy ANY item. For example, I used the previous $1.50/1 Planters coupon NOT on nuts (which would be what most people would typically think of to use this coupon on). Instead, I purchased two 7 oz bags of Planters Sunflower seeds. These were only $0.87 at the Commissary, so FREE + some nice overage after the coupon!
(Thanks, Julie & Tressa!)

Will this new coupon work for Kmart Double Days? Right now it isn’t much of a coupon, at least not compared to the $1.50/1!
I used two $1.50 off q’s at Walgreen’s this week for the trail mix and with the $1 off two from their March coupon book, I got them FREE with a $! overage towards my other stuff!!! Whoopee!!!
My husband brought this $1/2 coupon home and I thought…that’s no good until I divised a plan.

Thinking outside the box is a good point–and I LOVE overage–but I see a lot of commenters who are frustrated that their deals get shot down, especially at Target or Walmart with trial size products. Now you know there are people who go there with two of every coupon without size restrictions and that’s all they’re buying. If you don’t mind getting shot down or calling in a manager who may or may not see things your way, fine. But if you do, you might just want to buy the least expensive item that exceeds the value of the coupon. Alternatively, I’ve found that if you include travel items or those that give overage (just a couple–not two of everything!) in an order where you’re buying other stuff (and where you’re not paying 25 cents for six bags of merchandise!), you won’t generally have problems, either.
