ebates is a website that you go to and place your order through them they will give you money back. go to ebates.com and make an account, then find jcpenny. it will then link you through to the jcpenny website where you shop as normal. once you make your purchase your ebates account will be credited.
Ebates is a shopping club where you get discounts as you shop at hundreds of different stores on the web. First, you go over to http://www.ebates.com and join up for which you will get a $5 bonus just for signing up. There are hundreds of stores on the web each with a different percentage of discount you will get when you shop. After you join and before you go shopping, you sign into your account at ebates and go through their site to the store you are going to shop at. In Collin’s example above, you would go join ebates and then go to JC Penney’s through the ebates site. You would make your order at Penney’s and you would get a 6% discount off the amount you spent. This does not show up on the Penney’s site, but is automatically added to your ebates account. After you reach a certain amount, I think it is $10.00, you will be paid that money through your Paypal account. The hardest part to remember (at least for me and some others) is to remember to go to ebates and sign into your account BEFORE going to shop. That is the only way you’ll get the discount.
There are a number of these kinds of shopping clubs, ShopatHome, Big Crumbs, My Points, Swagbucks, etc.and they each give a different discount for some of the same stores. It is a good idea to check out several and decide which one you might want to shop through so your money will add up in one account.

Can you ship to store for free?
I don’t think so. It’s less than shipping to your home, but unless you live close to Penney’s, it’s sometimes more convenient to pay a little more and have it shipped to your home.
If you choose the ship to store option, it;’s the shipping charge is only $4.50.
With my order I had it shipped to my house, but I decided to cancel my order, so that I can pick up my order from the store someday after work, since the mall will be on my way home. Even though, I saved a little over a dollar on shipping I know I can use that dollar to buy a lotto ticket because you never know when you’re a winner…..right?? lol : )

Everyone – keep an eye on your mailboxes. I got two $10 off $10 coupons in snail mail on Friday. I stopped in my Penny’s store and used both today – scored 4 pairs of tights and a pair of super-cute sneakers for my 3yr old – all for under $5.00!!!
I would also like to know how the Ebates thing works. Is it my understanding that Ebates will send you $5.00? Also, when you mention 6% back from JC Penney how does that work as well?

Christi, scroll back up to Donna’s post and I explained most of it there. The ebates $5.00 bonus goes into your ebates account and I think after you earn a total of $10, you are then paid through your Paypal account. Check it out on ebates. Some of the shopping clubs will mail you the money once you reach the amount they specify for the pay out (like the $10).
The 6% you earn at Penney’s will show up on your ebates’ account, not on your Penney’s purchase.

I’ve never had the 1 order thing apply to jcpenney…last time they had this 10 off 10 i bought my son a lamp, my daughter a bathrobe and my husband a pair of jeans in 3 seperate transactions all with same acct all wtih same jcpenney CC. This time, i purchased the “collin” bag, a pair of jeans and tshirt for youngest daughter, and a coat for 1 of my older ones for next year. All 3 orders have already shipped, and zero issue so far.
Did any of you get a link to jcpenny fun family rewards after you made your online order? I’m concerned because I got it but did not agree to it. I goggled the company and found a link with nothing but complaints. That every person that made a online jcpenny purchase would automatically be subscribed to this program and a $9.96 charge would appear on your bill every month. I hope this is not true although everybody claims they did not authorize this payment and it still goes thru. Here is the link.

Oh, I didn’t put in my info to get this, I just wanted to let everyone know because they supposedly say that the charge appears on your bill just for purchasing on JCPenny online. I hope its not true.

I had a hip day today!!!!!! I went to the mall today with my hubby. We saw a movie and paid only $9 through the tropicana fandango BOGO deal. Then we went to aeropostale and he got a shirt for $2.95 (he didn’t like anything else) and I got 3 cute shirts and 2 polo-like shirts that I can wear to work for a total of $20 for 6 shirts!!! Then we went to JCP (i had 3 of those coupons plus they had a no tax day) so I got 2 pairs of gym shorts for $1.89 each and then I got some really cute underwear for total of $5. Needless to say we came home with a huge bag of clothes!! How exciting!!!!!!

Buu, I didn’t know that, but if I would have choosen shipping to my apt it would have been $4 dlls more then going to the store that is 2 minutes from my apt. So I guess the moneyback thru ebates is not a big deal, they were only going to give me .60 cents back anyway!! Look it at that way 🙂

Perfect for Mother’s Day for my MIL! The real reason I have been dying to order from JCPenney though was to have them ship something to my house so that I could be put on the mailing list for their $10 of $10 coupons they send out about once a month. I used the coupon code online for $10 off. After that, I got charged $9.95/ month from sb fun family rewards. I don’t remember signing up for it . A lot of people have had complained about it too. Just be aware, if you google ‘sb fun family rewards’, you’ll see what I mean
