Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 300 x 250

Restaurant.com has a new 80% off promotional code: FLAG

Take 80% off of $25 Gift Certificates and pay ONLY $2!
Just use promo code FLAG through May 31st
!

For a total of just $2, you’ll end up getting a $25 gift certificate! I always stock up on certificates when they are 80% off. They don’t expire for a year after purchasing, so you’ll definitely have lots of time to make use of them.

Or for an even better deal, you can purchase the Dinner of the Month Club. What’s that? It’s a 12 month package that comes with 12 $25 gift certificates and one FREE $50 gift certificate! The total for this package would be $120, but after you type in promo code FLAG—your total will drop down to just $24! Wahoo! That means you’re snagging $350 worth of dining certificates for ONLY $24!

My family and I recently moved to a new neighborhood, and upon exploring it thoroughly we came upon a restaurant called Crooked River Grill. We passed it multiple times on the weekends, and although the place looked a little shabby, I was intrigued by the name and wanted to go there (it reminded me of a diner on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives). We had always planned on making it there, but really hadn’t gotten around to it. To my surprise, I won the $100 Restaurant.com gift certificate from Hip2Save.com several weeks ago AND Crooked River Grill was listed on the site, YAY!! 🙂 It was the first certificate I printed out and the website itself was so easy to navigate.

On Sunday we got the chance to make it to the restaurant. Upon being seated, our waitress informed us they are no longer accepting the coupons*, 🙁 but would take it this time. I was so glad we made it in when we did! Some of their entrees were a little pricier than I had expected so I was REALLY happy at that point. My fiancee splurged and went for one of the priciest meals on the menu, at over $22, something we rarely do anymore. It was nice to be able to splurge and get the meals we really wanted without impacting our budget at all. When the waitress brought our receipt at the end of our meal, I was ecstatic. Our nearly $50 meal came out to only a mere $22 for the three of us, or a little over $7 a person. That’s less than we normally spend at a restaurant when we buy the most inexpensive items on the menu, AND it included the tip!!

Restaurant.com is amazing for being able to provide us with the ability to be able to eat out at such an inexpensive cost, without having to limit ourselves at the menu.

What if there is only one restaurant in your area that takes the certificates and it doesn’t take them anymore? Can you not get your money back in those cases instead of a credit to another place? Or what if you don’t like any of the other places offered and wanted the one you got because it was the only one you wanted? I think restaurant.com needs to take down places that no longer take the certificates from their site to keep this from happening. And I guess customers also need to call a place before purchasing a certificate to ensure it will be taken.

Thankd for the info about exchanging gift certificates. I have one to a restaurant that recently closed.

Does anyone know if the exclusions are written on the certificate? I just found my grandfathers favorite restaurant on there and am thinking about getting him one for fathers day, but I don’t want him to be embarrassed or anything…

has anyone tried using the swagbucks restaurant.com ecard to purchase a gift cert through restaurant.com? do you get 25.00 to use to purchase 25.00 worth of gift cards (like when they are on sale for 80% off, getting like 3 or 4 of them) or do you only get a 25.00 restaurant to use at 1 resteraunt? sorry if its confusing..

  5. Christine

Yes.. the exclusions are printed on the certificate. =)

I just wanted to say thanks to Collin because I would have never known about restrauants.com. I purchased them back in Jan for $8.which is 4/$25 gift cards. I just used my first one at a place we have gone for birthdays in the past so I took my grandson. It was great. They were so friendly and it was so easy. Our bill came for $57.00 with tip (but we tipped more snce they were so great). I am hooked and I’m looking for places we can get in Myrtle Beach when we go on vacation.

Just a little note about these coming from a server at a restaurant that accepts them. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, tip on the total BEFORE the discount is taken off(which is sated on most coupons) I know that it does say on some that an 18% gratuity is added but is not always the case. At the place I work at we have to have a manager add tips onto the bill, and sometimes we are really busy and just do not have the time to go and find them, or like me sometimes I have faith in people that they will tip on the before discount amout. Look at your bill you will know if your tip has been added. Where I work (as with many other places I would assume) you can get audited if you claim too low of money made on tips. And they go on your sales before discounts. Also all of our tip outs (bussers, bartenders, ect) come out of the precoupon amount. Don’t think that becasue you didn’t get any alcohol that you didn’t get anything from the bar. We get all beverages except iced tea and coffee from our bartender. Thanks for listening to me rant….I have not had too many problems in this area but I know that some of my coworkers have. Be aware too that some servers work pretty much just for tips. I make $2.13 an hour, and I try to do my best job every time. I understand that there are cases that the server is just horrible, I have had cases that has happened to me. Leave a quater, that usually gets the message across better than no tip. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. You guys rock!!!!

Damn skippy! Read your before discount price. If you got a discount, it was on the food not the service, please remember that!

      Ditto!

Also remember to buy your GC from shop at home and get 25% back!

  9. Tanica

I had the same problem of the restaurant not accepting our coupon. I think restaurant.com should have to refund the amount of money paid out instead of just a credit for the money paid for the certificate. If I go somewhere expecting to have dinner there, it seems silly to have to get up and leave, but I don’t think I should have to be punished for it just because restaurant.com screwed up.

Restaurant.com is pretty disappointing to me. There are tons of restaurants, but the terms and conditions are too restricting. Case in point. Lobstergram.com. I called them and they only allow use of one $25 GC per $95 order. So its more like purchasing a coupon for $25 off $95 order, or 25% off for $3. Fun to find out after purchasing $200 worth of GC’s:D Just make sure you read read read ALL the terms and conditions with this site!!

  11. Becky

Thanks for the tips on reading the fine print! The only restaurant listed in my area is Shorty Smalls… to use the $25 GC, there must be a minimum order of $60. That would do much good for just hubby and I!

    Maybe next time!

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Has anybody else had trouble with them, being that you print them out yourself, thus they are on “regular” paper? Didn’t know if the restuarants acted “funny” about it or not?

  13. Stephanie

Do you need to print them immediately? I’m out of printer cartridges right now, can I print them later?
