Oh I love it….how we’ve all been there : ) At least it’s warm so it can be done outside.

  2. Wendy

    Cute, Cute!

  3. hannah

    love it!

  4. Lana

I’ve seen this in my neighbor’s yard!

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL! We had to do the same thing iwth our almost 3 year old boy. If he had an accident we would wash him in the tub. Well then that turned into a “reward” in his eyes because he would purposely have an accident to take a bath! So MONTHS later we decided to use the hose in the backyard & NO bath. Wahla! He was majically potty trained a week & a half later iwth NO accidents! We now know for the next 2!

      magically

    • Bridget

My 2.5 year old sees a reward in dumping food on the floor, because his favorite toy comes out… the Vacuum!

      • ldp2183

Ugh, same here! My son loves the vacuum and therefore loves making a mess even more!

  6. april

  9. mamabear

  10. Sandra

Could those be the sandals you ordered from the great Catherines debacle I mean deal?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thought the same thing!

    • mbt4712

I was wondering where to get those sandals at myself. Sorry, I know that has nothing to do with the picture but they are cute 🙂

When my son was 3 (2 years ago) he came over (at a friends BBQ, outside) to the middle of us adults sitting in a large circle of lawn chairs, pulled down his pants and peed! I told him he couldn’t do that and he reminded me I told him sometimes it was ok to pee outside. I had told him that prior when we were at my DD softball practice and there weren’t any restrooms. I was so embarrassed! Luckily I knew almost everyone there.

    • Erin O

HAHAHA. My oldest son loves to pee outside. We live in the boonies so its really not a big deal most of the time. This year we went to my in-laws for a super bowl party and my father in law had invited a few of his employees to the party. When one of employees got there he came in the door laughing so hard he could hardly breath. We asked him what had him laughing so hard and he said when he pulled into the driveway and walked to the front door there was little blonde headed boy peeing in all the flower pots on the front porch. LMAO. Yep that was my precious 5 year old.

  12. April D.

Aww… Love it. Hey, my son is 4 and having issues with this stuff!!! He is definitely potty trained, but having accidents A LOT due to waiting to the VERY last minute then freaking out b/c we can’t get to a potty in time… *Sigh*

  13. Mitchell Wischmann

Nice name for the image…Pooper Piper!

  14. sarahdavidsdottir

Lol! I know all too well how you feel. I can remember hosing down a pair or two of undies.

  15. Randi

gotta love summer time, partly just for that reason 😉

  16. LisaM

  19. katrina

I love potty training in the summer time just for this reason! (:

  20. Angie

LOL at least it’s warm outside. : )

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yowza…looks like you got some sun, Collin! 🙂 Good times on the potty training front!

  22. liah

That’s why i am picking up swim diapers tomorrow on our way to Aquatica.. lol 🙂 That has happened to my other daughter though, oh what a mess it was.

  23. penny

OOPs everybody PooPs , Been there done that with all six of mine this is the first summer in a long time I’m NOT potty training. I feel for ya ……….

  24. jen s

Oh we’ve all been there. At least it wasn’t in a pool. Things can always be worse….summer is the best time to get the training down for that reason precisely. Oh the countless pics I have of my bare bummed boy leaning on a tree. They are some of my favorite pics!

  25. Ann Dee

Ha, ha. You look great doing it anyway…(o:

  26. Polly

I think you mean “…not so potty trained daughter…” OR “not yet”

  27. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Haha I had the same thing happen. We were at Disneyworld last year in the kiddie pool at the water park when my four year old started screaming “eww” as I turn to look I saw my three year old squating down and a present moving around in the water.

  28. Elizabeth

teehee! When I was a nanny I potty trained triplets-two boys and a girl, that was a task in a half! the Mother had like no patience at all with them, I felt so bad..I literally wrapped almost 500 little gifts for them…talk about getting a poopy prize!

  29. Katie C.

Too funny! Thanks for being real with us!

  30. Olivia Smith

This is so cute! 🙂 I’m sure you’re not the only one that has done this!

  31. tiffany

Cute pic!! My mind was wondering in a totally different direction than most of you. LOL I was thinking of an outside bath/shower that used to be so much fun when I was young or maybe rinsing off mud/grass. OH, love potty training….NOT!!!

  32. Liz

You should get a reality show 🙂

  33. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

3 cheers for spraying ’em down w/ the hose!

  34. Mom2FiveBoyz

She’s just beautiful!! She’ll get it down pat one of these days….until then, looks like you’ve got the right attitude….just grin and bear it!! LOVE your site, btw!!

  35. Mae

How do ya’ll know if this isn’t a case of rinsing out the sand from the o’l beach day of fun. That’s what I thought… Perhaps that’s cause I’m from Cali originally :-]

    • Anonymous

      Read under the pic….

      • Anon

Actually you should read under the picture, it says “potty trained” already NOT: “not so potty trained daughter…” OR “not yet” as Polly mentioned in post 26.

If her daughter is already potty trained, than it suggest’s that she is doing something OTHER than potty related issues. More like rinsing sand from the beach. etc. etc. 🙂

        • Anonymous

Look at the pic……do they look like they’re on the beach?????? See any sand?????

    • cicmommy

The image name of the pic is pooperpiper 🙂

  36. Betsy's Third

wishing you had a swim diaper? I feel your pain I too am potty training my almost 3 yo son and what a joy it is. (I swear girls are so much easier to train.) My problem is that my little guy needs to improve his aim. Ugh – I can’t tell you how many times I have had a golden shower…

    • Anonymous

I am so glad to see that moms are waiting to train their little ones (sounds like a lot of them are around three). Years ago, they were pushing the kids at such an early age, many before two years old.

      • Lane

All 3 of my children were completely potty trained by 20 months old. All of them showed an interest way before then and were waking up dry in the morning and telling me when they were going or about to go. So some people who potty train early didn’t push their children into it just to say they were potty trained early. I guess we just got lucky because they were all so easy (1 girl, 2 boys). I would never think the opposite…that people that wait until 3 or so were wrong for waiting so long…just different. Kids are all different. I had a child who couldn’t jump or climb (not wouldn’t…really couldn’t) until waaaay after two when other kids her age or younger were jumping and climbing away. Just different. The same child that couldn’t jump was walking at 8 months and just turned six and reads on a 5th grade level. Not better…just different! I know you didn’t mean anything ugly with your comment I’m just reminding you that you never know why a family does what they do when they do it.

        • Anonymous

Not sure how old you are, but years ago, they did “push” kids to be potty-trained early. If your kid was over two and not potty-trained, eyebrows were raised. I think the moms of today are much more relaxed about it…..that was what I was trying to say. It was a positive. Don’t know why people have to pick at every comment that is different from their thinking.

          • Lane

I’m 32 and my mother potty trained all 3 of her children early and she said the opposite of you. Maybe it’s just the region we live in. She said everyone looked at her like she had 10 heads because of doing it so early and people have done the same to me. I’ve been accused of trying to push my kids and it hurt my feelings because I would never make them do something they’re not ready for. I wasn’t nit picking your comment and even stated that I knew you weren’t trying to be ugly to those of us that did it early. I know you were just stating the positives of not pushing children. (this is what stinks about leaving comments…you can never really tell what the tone in someone’s voice is) It’s just that so many times people have assumed I’ve done something morally wrong with my children or that they weren’t really ready or that they’re not truly potty trained (even the pediatrician!) when they really have no idea what the situation is for us. I wasn’t trying to be ugly to you either. It would just be nice to hear someone say something positive for those of us who can do it early instead of assuming that it was done prematurely or for our own egos. I don’t doubt that there are parents that push their children too early and make potty training harder that it has to. Just as I’m sure there are parents who are too lazy or don’t won’t to work at potty training under guise of “they’re not ready.” But since I don’t truly know the situation of every person I just have to take someone at their word if they say their child isn’t ready or is ready. They know their children best. I’m sorry if you found that my comment was picking at you. It wasn’t my intention. It was more for the moms in my boat that wishes someone would say something positive to us.

  37. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You still look so polished even doing the dirty jobs !!! Kudos to you !!

  38. Barbara

Oh what a cute picture! There were no cute pictures taken when my 4 yr old boy announced that he pooped in the yard! we need badges for this sort of thing when we make it out on the other end.

  39. Marie

Lol! That is too funny! I don’t have kids, but I remember having to put my little brother when he was that age in the tub when he had accidents. Too funny!

  40. babygoo

You even look good while doing this! I’m envious (sort of!) 😉

  41. kp

Hose ’em off and send them on their way! 🙂

  45. Carol

Hey Collin I recognise those great sandals!!

    • mbt4712

Where are those sandals from? They are so cute!

  46. Melissa W

lol my daughter is three too so I can really relate to this in fact she decided she’d go in her panties today. Lets just hope they remember all we do for them when we’re old. Lol

  47. Christylee

Can somebody please explain what exactly little swimmers are supposed to do?! If they don’t blow up like a diaper then how are they absorbing the pee, and I have found that their little poops still make their way out. So I say-don’t even waste the $5 when you can use a ice cold garden hose like Collin!

    • Holly

They aren’t supposed to absorb the pee. And they do keep the poopers in – if you have the correct size and the swim diapers aren’t too big.

    • Polly

They DO NOT absorb pee. At all. All they do is keep the poop in.

  48. sunnymommie

oh hahah!!!! great picture!!.. it happen to me before with my son . 🙂

  49. Leah

  50. jennifer
