Ugh! Just got back from PetSmart!

Thanks Collin. I will keep one for my dog and put the other bag in my donation tote!

This deal has been available for about 2-3 months, but there will be a $3/1 in this week’s paper, too. Good for those that already hit their print limit 😉

    • Joy

which section of the paper did you find your coupon?

Thanks for the doggie info. My fussy poodle doesn’t like anything, so I buy these items for the animal shelter. Also got the Friskies at .40 can, used the $1Q, not bad for some cat food.

The authority can food also has a tear pad in front of it with coupons for buy 2 cans and get the 3rd for free. With the overage from the science diet coupons, get 3 cans of Authority pet food and use the coupons. You will leave paying for only one can of Authority can food costing $1.00 plus taxes!

I just called my local store. When you use your (free) Pet Perks Reward Card, they confirmed that these are $2.50 each. If you don’t have a Pet Perks Reward Card, you can easily and quickly sign up for one at the register.

I happened to be taking my dog to be groomed at PetSmart this morning when I read this post. I printed off the coupons and got both bags of dog treats free plus $1 overage to use towards the cost of grooming! Thanks, Collin!!

Even if you don’t have a dog or one that will eat these (mine is fussy) please please please print and buy then donate to a shelter. This is a way we can use couponing to give back. I buy at least one or two things a month that I am not interested in but are “free” so I can donate. I just donated oodles of deodorant and body wash to flood victims in West Tennessee and in most cases everything I gave them I had made money on…so they win and I did too!

Just got back and they would not take my coupon for $3 since the item was $2.50 – they rang it up full price and gave me the $3 off that – so still $1.99 – but not free ;o(

They should have just adjusted the price of the item to match the coupon if you weren’t buying anything else to cover the overage, not all the way up to the full retail price. I would have taken my coupon and left. The coupon is basically treated as cash, so they will get reimbursed for the full amount of the coupon irregardless whether or not you paid for the sales price or full retail price. So they basically stole from you making you pay full price for the item when it was on sale. I would complain to the manager of the store and/or the corporate offices and demand a refund and for them to do the deal correctly.

My petsmart did this. They adjusted the price of the two bags to $3 each then took off the coupons. This was my first time using a coupon to get something for free, (Yes I know, how could I have gone this long without doing this) anyway I assume paying tax is standard on this stuff? Even when the item is free you still pay tax on it, right? I ended up paying .54 for tax but was ok with that since the original price would have been $9.98/

Thanks! My parents and my sister both just recently got puppies, and I’m sure they can all use some treats 🙂

  13. Angela Peterson

My store wouldn’t take it, either. They told me that they would have to ring it up at full price and then give me the $3 off. I took my coupon and left.

  14. nicoleinseattle

There is a coupon on the science diet website buy one get one free cans of cat food also. I used that and we ended up with 4 free bags of dog treats plus overage to get additional free cans of science diet cat food. Yippy!

  15. Ann

I bought 6 and got 6 free with $3 overage.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

eh just saw it cant be used with cash register overide. so if they need to lower it to match the coupon you cant use it. Id bring it just incase? oh well i tried to help lol 🙂

  16. Cassie

To those who are having to pay full price: Are you adding another item to use up your overage? I added a bag of $1.99 clearance treats to take up the overage and I paid $1.98 w/tax. I’m wondering if its a problem with the cashiers or the if its the cash registers. I was thinking about printing two more and doing it again but I hate confrontation! If I want a battle, I shop at Walmart 🙂

After having a problem at my Petsmart on Saturday, I emailed the company. A store manager called me today and told me that it shouldn’t have happened and told me to come back in with my coupon and they would honor it.
