I don’t have any older kids, but this fad just seems ridiculous to me! And a chocking hazard to younger kids. Glad I don’t have any kids old enough to want these.

  2. Clara

Wasteful spending at its worst. Any good deals on Nascar antenna toppers as well?

    • Susan V

Wow–that was a bit uncalled for, don’t you think?!?!?!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

oh yes they are just like bracelets that kids like i dont see the problem

    • Suzie

I agree that was uncalled for!! Im guessing you don’t have school age kids and if you do then Im sorry you see these as bad! Innocent fun!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

wow…..the first couple of comments are pretty rude….not everything posted here is going to be for everyone….if you don’t like something skip over it. thanks for the lead we will have ours ordered this afternoon!!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

THEY ARE JUSTFUN LITTLE BANDS MY NIECE HAS LIKE A BILLION!

      • terrance

        thats soo true

  3. janet

My kids just have to have these rediculous things… I cant stand them… I find them in my laundry and in the car and all over the house. I just want to trash them, but they bring them home after trading pokemon cards for them. I refuse to buy them for my kids 🙂

  4. Karen

I’m so glad that my son isn’t in school yet to want these. He starts kindergarten in the fall. I am hoping the craze is over by then. Such a waste of money.

  5. kelli

remember slap bracelets, or pogs, etc…? Just another thing for the kids to whine about to their parents. No matter which ones you get, they want something else that’s better. My son is 11 and thank goodness he isn’t interested in these things. How come kids can’t trade books or something? Better yet, how about they trade math problems? 🙂

  6. Olivia Smith

I just ordered this as you mentioned above since there are a ton of kids at my church that are into them as well as my nephews- hey if they like something, it’s an easy present. Thanks for posting.

  7. Jessica

My daughter isn’t old enough to like them. Yet I am wearing a few… hahaha

    • Tilla

      cute

  8. Heather

Totally harmless fun. They enjoy them and have fun trading them.

    • Sherry

      Well said Heather!

  9. Nicole M.

My son is homeschooled, so we typically avoid fads like these, but I went ahead and took the plunge. 🙂 I’ve got nieces and nephews (and LOTS of neighborhood kids) that like these, too.

    Thanks Collin!

  10. Amanda

Thank you! 4 girls- these are a must for my house!!!

  11. Heidi

Wow ~ so many ‘dislikes’ on these. In my opinion, more junk to clutter the house, but hey ~ it is an innocent and SMALL thing to collect. So much better than the bouncy balls and the LPS animals and Webkinz my daughter has collected in the past. She pays for all of them, is generous to share with kids who have none and loves to trade with those who have them. For us, it is a win all around.

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

ok, so i am debating this now…my 5yr old last night @ wags was asking if i had a coupon for silly bandz and since the time i said no he has been trying to find a way to make a coupon for them…he actually asked me “mom, do you know the people who make coupons :)”

    • wendy d

LOL, how cute… I’ve had similar experiences with my 4yr old. She went shopping with her dad the other day and as they were going into the store asked where his coupons were then when he went to buy hair gel told him he better call me to get one.

    • kelli

April, you taught your son well! What if you sat down and made a craft project with him. He could make a coupon for these and you could surprise him with them? I bet he would “love you forever” 🙂 Now, that’s a story to scrapbook! 🙂

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

that is a great idea (to make a coupon for him)…just do not want him to think he could do that for everything!

  13. Amy

I don’t see why people are getting so upset over these. They are cute and fun and I think very clever. My 7 and 11 year old girls love them.

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Great deal! Thanks! I ordered them for my kids as incentives for when they fill their “jewel jars”!

  15. tracylynn77

wow – cant believe how NEGATIVE some people are being! Harmless fun, lighten up! 🙂 My little one loves them. I was able to get a few packs as fillers on my last couple trips to CVS, so have not paid any out of pocket cash for them. Frankly, I would be fine spending a couple bucks for my kiddo to smile and enjoy a clever little toy such as these – she loves “sharing” them with friends and family. 🙂 This is a great deal! Thanks collin!

  16. Christina

People need to chill out a bit, they are inexpensive and fun for the kids to trade. My girls wear them and love them 🙂

  17. galaxystar2

I also think these things are seeminlgy a waste of money, but they make my kids happy and are relatively cheap, so I don’t mind “indulging” them. I know my mom certainly did the same for me when I was a kid, and it makes a kid happy to be able to talk about/trade/play with the latest “craze”, so who cares if to me it seems silly? I also make my kids earn them by doing chores or I reward them for good behavior. So thanks for the great deal Collin!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

same here! we use them for rewards as well, and i agree with what you said. Who cares about if we like them or not. I like doing and getting things for my kids. i just feel bad for them that they break so easily.

  18. Rochelle

Seems a bit expensive. I believe they were only a couple dollars at Walgreens when I was there the other day. Did not realize they were such a hot with kids these days.

    • Heidi

They can be $5 for a pack of 24 if you get the ‘brand name’ Silly Bandz, other brands are not as much, but often you get less in a pack, I think.

    • Cindy

The cheap ones aren’t the original Silly Bandz brand. According to my twins in fourth grade, the kids they know only want the “real” Silly Bandz. Of course, I don’t see the difference — they’re all rubber bands. I burst out laughing when my son told me that the rarest Silly Bandz is a circle! I tried to explain to him that all regular rubber bands can form a circle, but he just didn’t get it. Or maybe I’m the one who doesn’t get it! 😉

      • Suzie

Love the rubber band idea ;).. I also made the mistake and bought the off brand one time. Besides the boys knowing right away they weren’t silly bandz I found they broke ALOT easier!!

      • Heidi

Too funny! My daughter told me that a first grader gave another student (who never heard of Silly Bandz) a regular brown rubber band and told her it was a potato! My daughter felt bad for her and gave her a regular one, but ~ how funny!

        • Sherry

          A potato! HAHAHA!

          • tammy-ladysavings

okay- that potato one is cracking me up 🙂

        • Tammy

That is hilarious! Made me laugh out loud.

          • jennifer harrington

That is hilarious about the potato. My 3y/o daughter brought home a and told me it is a blue circle. I looked it over and agreed it was a reagular blue circle rubber band,. she LOVES it!!! How funny now i will give her a potato for being good at Wags tonite. Love it!!!

  19. Vivi

Ok, what are these? Are they big enough to wear as bracelets? I haven’t seen them in person so I don’t know.

    • Heather

They are bracelets. When you take them off they are various shapes (animal, princess, car, instrument, etc) They hold their shape, kids go nuts over them, trade them, etc. Some schools have banned them b/c they cause such distraction though.

  20. Nichole

Thanks for posting this. My son who’s 10th Bday is a week from today, just loves these darn things. I put in my order for these and hope they come by next Monday. This will make a great surprise for him.
    Thanks again Collin 😀

    • Stefanie

I was thinking they would be fun things to pass out at my son’s birthday as party favors! 😉
(I’m not crazy about them either but come on – I had jelly bracelets, charm bracelet, ridiculous things like jelly shoes… It’s a kid thing that will be a funny memory!

  21. Laurie

Thanks for this! My daughter has earned one of these the past two weeks at church for reciting her Bible verse and is now totally into them! So, these will be great to have on hand.

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank you so much for posting this! What a good deal – and such a good idea for birthdays, incentives, etc 🙂 Awesome!

  23. Miranda

Thank You!! I think they are neat myself!!

  24. Brittany L

Thanks!I just ordered these for my daughter’s b-day party goody bags!

  25. cathygott

FYI, I saw a HUGE variety at my local dollar store this morning.

  26. Suzie

My boys love these (5 & 8).. They trade them with their friends and earn them as rewards (we do the sticker chart at our house).. Its easy innocent fun.. I remember having an arm full of slap bracelets as a kiddo..lol

And this is a good price! For a small pack of like 10 or so bracelets at Wags or Walmart is like $5!!

  27. Jami

Thanks for posting!! My daughters will be very excited to receive their silly bands!! They love these things.. I agree with the others who stated these are a harmless kid thing to like.. How can you really go wrong with little bracelets.. I think they are cute!! Better than candy!! lol

  28. Dragonfly17

Holy Moly this is super!!! My kids are going to be thrilled!!! I bought more for gifts!!

  29. Takako

I found look-a-like products at Wal-mart. They are $1 a pack which has lots of in it. Can anyone tell me they are good as the “original ones” or just not great deal? My daughter who got invited for her friend’s birthday party and I though that will be fun. I just don’t know any of these products. Somebody help!!

Wow, I just read some of the above “dislike” comments. Normal price is about 24 bands for $6 and that is .40 a band. This deal makes them 0.11 each. That is dirt cheap!! I use these for rewards for doing lots of things such as, summer math work and writing practice. I think there cute and harmless. I’ve really loved watching the kids interact with other kids and teenagers and asking if they want to trade. It’s social. I didn’t think I’d ever get into them, but they’re more fun then getting a sticker on a chart!!

  31. Stacy

We just got home from a car trip to FL (18 hrs each way). Anyway since these are the latest “fad” around here I bought a few packs and gave each of my kids one every 50 miles. Yes, their arms were covered by the time we got home, and yes, I think they are silly, BUT it sure was a fun, cheap and easy way to pass the time in the car for them. Sure wish I would have seen this deal before we left. 🙂

  32. Maura

Compared to some of the fads, these are very inexpensive if you dole them out 1 at a time! My kids (4 of them!) get to pick one out of a bowl full when I’ve spotted them doing something good. Normally $5 for 24 “prizes” isn’t bad at all! Less than a quarter each! When they leave them lying around, I pick them up and toss them back in the bowl. 😉 I haven’t had to buy more after my first “investment” at Hallmark. (Where I used 40% coupons!) I spent less than $10 and have had prizes for months!

    • Lori

I like that idea, pick them back up and put them in the bowl. Your not throwing them out, your “recycling”!

  33. keri

Silly Bandz are HUGE at my house…from my 3 year old to my 15 year old…i even wear them on occasion! waste of money? nah…we waste money on lots of unneccesary stuff all the time anyways…whats 1 more thing! did you really need those everything you bought last week?! I love spoining my kids…as my mom did me!

  34. Lindy

Good Morning America had a recent story on these (video loads slowly) ~> https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Parenting/video/silly-bandz-10788029
Good thing school is OUT this week for our kids. MANY schools have “banned” them already. Don’t be surprised, for those of you who have kids (if the are still “cool”) in the FALL more schools will ban them. My 8th grade DD and her friends wear them and trade them, so it’s not just the primary school kids!! My DD Ballet Studio has BANNED them already 😀

  35. anne

i say something on the news about these that they can cut off circulation to the arm if wearing too many.

  36. Amanda F

I think these are cute and fun. I bought some for my daughter. I know they are banned at school, but kids can wear these outside of school. I like how everyone trades the bracelets!

  37. HoyMycek

Thanks for posting! These bracelets are harmless fun. I bought these for my daughters upcoming birthday as party favors! The kids will LOVE them.

  38. Christina

The school that I teach at has banned them. Only because kids are popping each other with them. But the kids wear them to other activities. I see nothing wrong with them as long as they are being used correctly. My niece loves them, and i have purchased some for her. Harmless!

  39. Lacey

I just bought them, but it wouldn’t let me use your DEAL10 code as a new customer for 10%off. Has anyone else had problems with the code today?

  40. Sabrina

My 5 Year old daughter and 10 year old son love these. I have never bought them but they always seem to have one around their wrist…lol weird So now maybe this will help to give some back to the kids they keep borrowing from…lol $7.19 shipped to my house and makes 2 out of my 3 kids happy and 1 being boy and 1 being girl is the best deal in the world…lol Thanks Collin

  41. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

All the dislikes are funny cause you know what these are just about the same thing as the plastic bracelets everyone was wearing a couple years ago and it was mostly adults and noone thought those were stupid and pointless. Let kids be kids!!! Part of being a parent is not always agreeing with what your child is into but when its harmless fun and of course inexpensive whats the big deal. I love when I can spoil my kids!!!! They are only little once!!!

  42. Danielle Rasmussen Walker

Great deal! My students’ parents have been telling me they cost a fortune. I thought they were just gumball machine prizes at first. Until they made their way, full force, into my classroom last week. We had such a problem with misuse (snapping at peers and leaving marks) that we have had to ban them. One of my students last week had a little breakdown because “I DON’T HAVE ANY SILLYBANDS!!!” lol. Good Deal, Easy reward for parents…Teacher’s new nuisance!

I remember those snap bracelets from when I was a kid and the ban in my schools…I thought it was unfair and my friends and I “protested”. HAHA! I can understand my former teacher now.

((As a mother to a girl, I want to buy her these since she loves bracelets. I think I may get them, but not let her wear them to school.))

  43. MommySpendsLess

My little one is too little for these so I never really understood the craze. But I just checked out the SillyBandz website and they have color changing UV activated ones. And some of the shapes are kind of cool. As somebody else mentioned, my brother and I collected/traded POGS (those cardboard disks) and our parents had to think we were just as nuts. So I guess I kind of get it now (and a little part of me almost wants some 🙂 )

  44. Dawn Hecke

Wow! I can’t believe someone said wasteful spending??? Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion I guess…Not wasteful spending when you see how excited the kids get when they’re trading these goofy things..lol..Yes,a little silly..and I get tired of finding them all over the house and in the laundry, but my daughter LOVES them!! Yeah, they’re a choking hazard for little kids..and smart people wouldn’t give them to a younger child that still puts things in their mouth.Thank you so much for the post!! My daughter thanks you too. She’s going to be sooooooooooooo excited..Oh yeah, they have smelly ones now too. 🙂

Just got mine in the mail…. Too bad they were sold under the “Silly Bands” name but are FAKE……. What a bummer… They say Crazzzzzy Bandzzzz on the package. The majority are pink and orange… Guess I’ll be giving them away, as my son was hoping for the real deal which includes, red, blue, brown for boys…. BOOOOOOOOO!

    • Wendi

I thought they were going to be the realy ones too. Bummer…..:(

  50. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

still have not received our’s in the mail. we were sent an e-mail the same day we ordered them that they had shipped. called the site and they said there was a delay in the shipment and that they hadn’t really shipped until friday or monday of this week. guess we all ordered too many!! 🙂
