Do you have a shelf full old books collecting dust? Do you have a drawer full of never-to-be-watched again DVD’s? If so, then Swaptree my be the perfect solution for you to de-clutter your home and snag new items that you will actually use! Swaptree is a site where you can trade books, music, movies and video games that you don’t want, for the books, CDs, DVDs, video games that you do want, for FREE! And the best part is that once you get an item from someone and you finish reading, listening or viewing it, you can just list it on swaptree and get something else for it!

Here’s how it works…
* You list the books, CDs, DVDs, and video games that you want to trade (by entering the UPC codes or ISBNs) and the books, CDs, DVDs and video games that you want to receive and Swaptree does the rest.

* Swaptree will show you all of the items that you can receive for your items. Clicking on a “GET NOW” link next to an item will show more information about both the item and the trader you will be receiving the item from. (Note: All trades on Swaptree are one-for-one, meaning that you will trade one item and receive one item in return, and therefore all items have the same value).

* Once the other traders accept, the trade is complete and you will then be provided the shipping address where you need to ship your item. You are responsible for paying shipping on the item that you are trading. There are two ways to do this (1) Go to the local post office…Use the post office’s Media Mail service and you can send almost everything for less than $2.50. (2) Print out a label from Swaptree…you’ll need to provide your credit card so that they can bill your account accordingly for the postage that you print. Postage is determined based on weight of the items you’re sending. Print the mailing label from your computer and put your item in the envelope. Then place it in your mailbox and you’re all done.

*Still confused…take a tour by clicking here.

If you think Swaptree may be a good fit for you and your clutter, then you’ll be super excited to learn that you can earn 100 Swagbucks points for your first Swaptree trade, and 40 points for every trade thereafter (up to 6 trades total)! All you need to do is register/log into Swagbucks, click on special offers (on the left sidebar), click on the first box as pictured above, register with Swaptree and begin trading! How great is that?!

Try too! Same thing, just with DVD’s. Never had any problems with them!

If you have books you want to “trade” is far superior to swaptree. I’ve been a member of both for years and I’ve found the person to person method of swaptree is very limited. With paperbackswap when someone requests a book from you you get credits that you can use to request a book from any member.
