This might just be the Dollar General where I live, but they do not take pdf coupons. It’s not that the cashiers won’t take them. The computer won’t accept it. They said certain coupons it won’t accept…which I’m guess is the pdf since regular ip work.
Does DG let you stack coupons? I recently asked them & they seemed very confused by the question. They have some great deals in the store, with stacking they could be even better…and you don’t have to fight WM or Target traffic!
Yes, they should let you to use stack of them as long as one coupon is DG store coupon and other one is manufacture coupon. One day I got Biore face wash for less than $1 (like 75 cents or so) because Walmart had roll back (price match) and I stack $1 off DG coupon and manufacture coupon. 🙂
My Dollar General won’t take ANY coupons printed from a computer. They have to be from inserts, packages, magazines, etc. However, I DO have a $1 off coupon from an insert so I am going to one of these! 🙂

DG has the 3 pack of Act 11 popcorn (small bags) for $1 but only .25 after .75 coupon!

is it just me or is this a GREAT deal even if you don’t have a coupon? i’m trying todecide if i feel like digging out the coupon or not. (esp after yesterday’s thoughts on staying balanced:)
Ohhh, my Dollar General had problems with a printed coupon as well a while back. I was soooo annoyed because the cashier (and shift manager) totally treated me like I was trying to scam them. I contacted Dollar General and someone high up called me back and said they SHOULD have taken it, according to their coupon policy and he apologized, but that was it- and by then the deal was over, so it really did me no good. I have not been back with coupons to try again. Hope others have better luck than I did!
i’m nervous about trying them now. i’m in such a small town it will be all over town by noon i was trying to scam dollar general. haha!
I wouldn’t give any concern as to what others think-just do what’s right and ethical and you can’t go wrong.

The last time I was at the General Dollar I went to buy 3 or 4 differnt items and I had a quanitly of 3 or 4 for each item. When I went to use my coupons the cashier gave me a pile of my coupons back saying they didn’t work. I had bought 4 gain dish soaps but it only took 1 of the 4 coupons. I had them take off the items that wouldn’t go through. When I got home I realized that the register only took one of each different item’s coupon. They had 5 coupons saying they went though when they had not. I had shopped their before and they took multiples of the same coupon. But that time the manager had wrong me up. The same manager was the one who had to take the items I wasn’t going to buy off. I had read on a blog about the same thing happening when some one had tried buying a couple of the gain dish soaps. I read there on line coupon policy and it does state that if the coupon won’t scan that they won’t accept the coupon. I did email them telling them about my experience and didn’t get a reply back.
I was able to stack the store coupon with the manufacture coupon. the store coupon one took off the about for one item. I tried using two identical store coupons in my translation and the cashier said it didn’t work. I don’t know if this is their policy or just the cashier I had didn’t know how to properly use the cash register.
Love the deals, but I can’t take the stress at DG! I have a confrontation every time I go there with coupons. Once, the man behind me offered, in a rude way, to pay for my purchase just so I’d get out of HIS way. I told him that I just wanted to understand their coupon policy and ended up leaving the items and walking out…fuming! So, to save my sanity, I don’t use coupons there anymore. BTW, corporate never would answer the phone or allow me to leave a message. Ugh!
Collin, DG would be a great in store video or a corporate call video. It seemed to make Walgreen’s take notice and produce a coupon policy! 🙂

Just went in this morning to get this deal. I had 5 coupons printed out and they said the coupon states one coupon per transaction. I was told I can only use one of these coupons per day…just like when you buy cold medication you can only buy one per day. They wouldn’t let me do 5 separate transactions. I only got to buy one.
So aggravating!

i have to go to town tonight. I’m totally trying this again. We have plaster walls and these little hooks are wonderful!! I can move stuff around all day long.

wahoo! just spent 6.84 in dollar general- and my bill was 21.84 before coupons! Renuzit cones are $1, so I used the B3G3,.
Glade candles- $3 i used B1G1
Mentos-$1.35 I used $1 off coupon
Wisp 4pks $2- i used $1 off coupon
Baby orajel $2- i used $1 off coupon
kids colgate $1-$1 off coupon
last but not least a $5 off 20
(plus a few other odds & ends including hooks and gain)
ALL my coupons beeped, and they had to call management over, but they pushed it through-good deal today!.
I just left my local Dollar General where I did find the command hooks for $1.50 each. However when the cashier scanned the coupons they would not work. She said the item was nit found on the receipt. What? I had 4 right there in front of her. I had 2 of the printed PDF ones and 2 from the SS insert. She manually pushed through the 2 from the SS but would nit accept the PDF printed ones. Anyone else have this issue?
Yes, that happened to me. I had two from the 10/3 SS inserts and one PDF that I printed off the internet this morning. None of them would go through and the cashier thought maybe it was because I was trying to use all three in one transaction (??) so she suggested I try three seperate transactions. Coupons still wouldn’t go through but the manager came over and did a manual override.
I am so glad I have you all to talk to. I am soooo upset right now . I usually have no promblems using my coupons at DG, But today I did. It seems If I can get an Item free ( Gain dish washing liquid) , DG WILL NOT except the coupon, WHY NOT ? They get their money back.. I WILL NOT SHOP AT DG UNTILL THEY CHANGE THEIR POLICY… Hope you all have a better DG than I have in Lumberton N.C…( DOLLAR GENERAL ) Be CAREFUL…
I just got 9 bottles of gain for free and 8 boxes of the Act 2 popcorn and they excepted all of my coupons ….no problem. In the past I had so many problems that I was just about tempted to never go back but I’m sure glad I went today!!!
I guess it depends on who’s behind the cash register, and what kind of mood they are in! I tried to get the hooks with the internet coupons, but no deal. I asked for the coupon policy but she didn’t have it. I will try again — with the Coupon policy in hand!
I am having a really TERRIBLE time with Dollar General accepting my coupons. I try to be very careful about my coupon purchases and select exactly the item described. However the past 2 times I have tried to use my coupons at Dollar General- they have refused to accept them (Manager included). The items were for Cream of Wheat- this month ($1.00 off any 1 any variety) and Quaker last month ($1.00 of any 1). On top of refusal to accept them, the service and reception regarding coupons is really aweful!!!!! I have kept my cool and said thanks each time, but going their is a waste of my time so far.
