Pringles Xtreme Facebook "Scam" Update
Remember the Facebook Pringles Xtreme free coupon offer that I posted about a month or so ago? Shortly after posting this free coupon offer, many Hip2Save readers (including myself) began to question whether the offer was legitimate. In fact, I was so sure that this offer was a scam that I posted an update on Hip2Save stating that the Pringles offer was illegitimate (you can view that post here). Collin, I just wanted to let you know that I received a coupon today for a free can of Xtreme Pringles. It has to be from the “Facebook scam” a few months ago. Seems it was legit after all!
Hey Collin- I’m sure you remember about a month ago when there was all that hullaballoo about the Pringles Xtreme and the illegitimate Facebook offer. I deleted the group, as was suggested and didn’t think anymore about it……that is until today. Guess what showed up in my mailbox? A coupon for 1 free can of Pringles Xtreme! Just thought you’d like to know. Thanks for all the hard work you put into helping all of us save money!

I got mine yesterday along with my Green Mountain Coffee “sample” and a Walgreens $10 gift card. Yay! I had actually deleted the FB page as well. It’s awesome that this turned out to be real!
My coupon arrived today, too, as well as 6 individual packages of Johnsonville Deli Bites! Yum yum!
I am wondering what the coupon looks like, Pringles said they had nothing to do with it so it still sounds a little weird. People create fake coupons all the time, anyone remember the fake free doritos coupon at the beginning of the year?
The fake Doritos coupon was a PDF file, I believe. The coupon these people are talking about is a paper coupon, coming via regular mail. I don’t think scammers would spend the money (paper, ink, envelopes, postage) or time to send people a fake coupon.
Nope, its a real 4 color coupon from Proctor and Gamble.

I just got one too, today actually and I was wondering if it was ok, it seems to look like a real coupon, I also got free advil and free cottonelle flushable wipes coupons…..

I still think it’s fake. I just called P&G Pringles 800 number. The customer service rep put me on hold for about 5 minutes, then came back and said they have knowledge of any free coupons going out for Pringles. She had talked to the Sales Dept and they had not authorized any groups or individuals to produce coupons.
Sorry that was supposed to be “they have NO knowledge”

I wouldn’t worry about that too much. Customer reps hardly ever have any idea what the marketing dept came up with.
Well I emailed the company directly and they sent me an email back saying its a legit deal. Oh well if u think that I hope u didn’t sign up then

GOT MINE YESTERDAY
I was way surprised to get one yesterday. I was one of the skeptics :). I didn’t think I’d get one after having gone back in and deleting the group. I’m glad it still came :)! My hubby loves Pringles.

free pringles snack for me!! came today, now if I can just find a store to honor it. Walmart in Arden, NC says they will no longer take “free” coupons.
Wow, did u try printing out the store’s coupon policy? If that doesn’t help they have the corporate # 1-800-925-6278, see what they say about it

hey everyone–maybe we should all call pringles before using this coupon so they see just the volume of people getting this coupon and to inform them. while i would love to just use this coupon, it just sounds like a red flag to me because why would a company issue a coupon then deny doing so, you know? i haven’t received mine yet but when i do, i’m going to contact the company.

Yep right after the “scam” rumor started I emailed P and G directly (thru the pringles website) and got the response that it was a legit deal but the offer had exceeded its limit and thats why it ran out so fast! So don’t worry, no one is spending the time to make free product coupons and pay to mail them to us all, why would anyone in the first place? I don’t really understand what the point would be unless they were using it for themselves. Anywho, its a free can of chips ya’ll

I got my coupon too!! I also got my Tag Readers that I ordered 4 days ago!! They were very fast- can’t believe it! I have already used my $5 off coupons and bought 2 tag books at Target. I am so excited for Chirstmas this year! I just started couponing and this will be the first year we have actual Christmas gifts that were “expensive” (not with coupons and great deals!) and I already have more than they need and Christmas is 2 months away! Maybe I should start buying some great gifts for my husband and I now!
