I’m really surprised that someone was able to use an internet coupon at DG that makes the item free. The DG stores around here (Western NC) will not take any internet money off coupon that makes the item free, even though their store policy says they don’t accept internet coupons for free items – which is totally different than a money off coupon which happens to make the item free. DG is SO frustrating…after several negative couponing experiences and no success at reaching corporate, I avoid that store. Can anyone share a positive experience with DG and using money off internet coupons which make the item free?
A while back they had window cleaner at 2/2.00. I used 2 – 1.00 off q’s and got both for free… the lady complemented me! 🙂

Your stores are not following the corporate policy if they’re not taking IPs. This is directly from their website:

In the window at my dollar general it says that they take internet coupons, so he is fibbing saying that it is a corporate policy.

I tried to use a coupon for the command hooks that was posted on here awhile ago and the girl said it beeped and wouldn’t let me use them. I was ready to argue my case but my husband was with me and he hates being present for this kind of thing so i let it go. But i was really dissapointed because i love to use them and at 50 cents i was super excited. Does anyone know anything about this? Or has anyone else had issues using coupons at dollar general?
It seems their register always beeps, but they are supposed to just take it off manually, as they accept the coupons and are supposed to let you use them. I think some cashiers just need help figuring out how to do that, as they don’t understand that just because it beeps doesn’t mean you can’t use them.
it dont work! dollar general always trip on internet coupons– not worth the wasting time and to metion the ink!
Dollar Store is too much of a pain for coupons.
I went in to DG and asked questions regarding policy a while back and found out the cashiers dont know what they are suppose to do and what they are not so they tend to make it up…. So I supplied my store with a copy of their policy! As much as I try to remember they are not getting the info it bothers me that because they dont know they think I dont……..
Sure wish ALL stores could get on the same page as to what they do and dont accept!
Dollar General told me they don’t take internet coupons until I read it on thier website. They also have coupons on thier website that you can stack with MQ. I had problems getting the DG coupons to work if they were scanned before the MQ. Next time I will hand them the DG Qs firt and then the MQs.
Dollar General has store coupons at their website like Lori said. Right now, they have $1 off any Axe product. Then you can stack with BOGO FREE coupon from 10/24 (sorry, not sure it’s SS or RP). Hope it works for everyone. 🙂
I tried 2 of mine DG here in town and was told both times no I could not use IPs. I plan to call their corporate office as this is a direct violation of their online coupon policy!
I must have good DG’s around here. The 2 close to my house have never NOT taken my internet coupons! I LOVE Dollar General! 🙂
I read alot of horror stories about going to DG and using q’s. So I went waiting to pull out my coupon policy…but the manager was very well aware of the policy and was 100% on my side. I left my DG calling corp. to RAVE about the store here. Their DG q’s didn’t register with their scanner, they had the manually do them and on others too..I used Tic Tac q’s that gave them to me free in the end and they accepted them.
I’ll be printing 2 from my comps and putting these in my girlie girls stockings this holiday season!
well, were i live they wouldn’t take my coupon because the manager said”you can’t get nothing for free” well, i told him that i beg to differ.
they wouldn’y take it because of the counter fit one going around and then he wasn’t going to give it back! and i said “o yes you are” i even asked if i could get something that cost 2.50 and he said no well, thats the last time i go in there.
they do not know anything about coupons! thats what i get for living in a small town i guess.
if i want to go to the dollar store again i will go to one in a bigger city and give that a try.
