I guess I made this transaction complicated. I figured out that I was going to spend just over $50 before tax so I went onto e-bates and purchased a $50 e-gift card (4% back) then made my purchase of $54.00 in toys (4% back plus $10 kohl’s cash) used $50 e-gift card from 1st purchase. I have to add one more thing to that….I have a $10 Coors NBPR rebate on any $50. gift card purchase. I love killing many birds with one stone. totals= two 4% back around $4, $10 kohl’s cash, $10 NBPR rebate really brings cost down to around $30 for $120.00 worth of toys for “Toys 4 Tots” OOOOO-RAH Marines!!!!

You can always re-order and return the others you purchased last week if you are getting a better deal now. I do that a lot if the prices change and if I haven’t paid any shipping costs.

I just checked this out since I bought mine when you wrote the first Kohls post and they have RAISED the prices (considerably) on the items I bought …. Batcave being one of them. So it may sound like you are getting a better deal, but I don’t think that’s the case. Just do pricing research against other sites like Amazon prior to purchasing.
Yeah, some of these toys are really marked up and then put on sale to make it look like a good deal. I bought the Silly Sounds Remote for my son at Kmart for around $11 regular price and they have it “on sale” for $11.04.
Yes, Kohls ALWAYS way overprices their toys…their sales are the regular price of other toy stores. Comparing prices to Amazon does not help either IMO, they are overpriced often too. You really need to know how much the toy you want REALLY sells for (ie Walmart, Target). Hope some of you still got a good deal though with all the coupon stacking!
The Silly Sounds Remote is on sale for $11.04 but after I added to my cart it came out to $8.83 with the Kohls 20% discount but that doesn’t include the extra 20% code Collin posted. So after that code it will be around $7.07.
I’ve noticed this too around Christmas time in the store. It’s crazy!
I thank Collin for this post, but I also noticed the overpricing on the toys. If you have a Kohl’s card it REALLY did work out, but if you do not have one, it was not much of a saving for one or two toys. The toys I was looking at were cheaper elsewhere. The prices here were certainly hiked…but again, I do not have the Kohl’s card. Would have probably done it if I had it.

Pillow Pets Puppy is $21.99 but with the 30% discount (for card holders) it’s only $15.39. I ordered it with some other sale items, so no shipping either! Pretty good price for Pillow Pet!

Not sure if this was posted yet but I was in the store today (Saturday) and they added an extra 20% off each of my toy items today! I bought a disney princess Belle doll for the bathtub. It was originally 14.99 on sale for 9.74. At checkout, they automatically gave me 20% off bringing it down to 7.79. THEN I had a 30% off coupon which took another 2.31 off. Total price I paid for a 14.99 toy was 5.48. Can’t beat that! 🙂

I went to the store because the free shipping wasn’t working for me last night, I Bought 4 large jars of Yankee Candles and used the coupon posted here yesterday for Buy 2 get 2 free and in store they are offering a free Small Jar candle 3 piece set for free with a $30 purchase. 2 Apples to Apples Games that were 19.99 on sale with an extra 20% off this morning door buster sale so it was $15.99 then I used my 30% off coupon from the mail. My total was $53 SWEET! Oh and if anybody wants 30% off instead of the 20% off posted above the code is HOLIDAYGIFT on my coupon so I think it will work for everybody.

I actually went into the store this morning and they had all the toys an extra 20% off as well. I was able to get 3 toys each for my two girls for $56. Also anyone who lives in an area where there is a FredMeyer they have all fisher price sesame street toys at 50% off. I was able to get the remote control there for 5.74 compared to kohl’s 8.83. They also had Mr. Potato head for 3.99 at fredmeyer.
I placed several items in my cart and the 20% off showed up to the right of the price. Then my cart refreshed and the 20% is gone and I can’t seem to make it come back!?! 🙁 Was there a timed expiration or something?
