Of course after I already purchased the same set (but disc not a Blu-Ray) for the same price at Barnes and Noble. Oh well. 😉 This is a great deal for sure!

I ordered one for my husband. Thanks!!!

Thanks for posting this. I’ve been wanting to pick these up on Blu Ray.

This is a great deal but I’m still holding off for when there is a boxed set of ALL the movies. I know I’ll be waiting a while but it’s totally worth it to me.

Thinking about getting this for my fiance- he loves Harry Potter. We don’t have a BluRay player though….hmmm, does anyone know if an Xbox 360 will play it? If not, we will have to invest in a BluRay player! Are these BluRays better quality than DVDs? any recommendations?

they also had it on widescreen for 29.99

Everybody seems to be frozen waiting for this question to be answered. The manufacturers will make whatever we buy, but it doesn’t seem like an overwhelming number of consumers are converting to Blue Ray. I don’t really notice the difference.

Wow- thank you for your reply! I appreciate it. Garrett already has all of the DVDs so I didn’t know if I should buy the Blu Ray- I guess I’ll wait for the 7th movie to come out! 🙂

Xbox 360 does not play bluray… only dvds. Bluray quality of picture is better, but you can only tell a difference on a big tv. otherwise its really not that big of a difference. I love the combo packs that have all of them..

We play our bluerays on our PS3 – but the truth is, I don’t really have very many bluerays yet anyway – we have so many DVD’s I don’t want to have to replace them.

I’ve had my Blu Ray player for almost a month, and I just purchased my first Blu Ray (Beauty and the Beast!!) a few days ago! Yes, the movies are a lot clearer, but I’ve found the other features of my Blu Ray more exciting. I have an LG Wifi Built-in player and it comes preloaded with Netflix, Picassa, Vudu, Pandora, and You Tube! I use my sister’s Netflix’s account to watch things instantly on my TV (they have soooo many TV shows and movies!). I use Pandora to listen to music, and I search movies on YouTube to watch with friends! Vudu is great because it’s like my own movie store! You can get any movie instantly to your TV! There’s a good selection for $2 for 2 nights!

Point of my “feature puking” – I love my Blu Ray! I definitely recommend getting one!

Costco has the same 6 pack in DVD format for $32.99 with 2 movie cash tickets inside good for $7.50 off the new Harry Potter movie in theaters.

I have not noticed any difference in quality from our Blu-Ray discs vs our DVDs. The boys noticed that there were more games and things attached to the Blu-Ray and they don’t scratch quite as easily and although there may be a difference in picture quality – I guess I just don’t have the eye to see it.

They also have the box set of DVDs for $23.99. That’s a great price.

I just bought two of these! Thanks Collin! It will be a great gift for my sister and totally unexpected!
As far as the blu-ray debate, the picture is a lot brighter. It’s not noticable on dark movies, say twilight, but is definitely a lot better on bright movies like up! I definitely have not bought movies that I already have just to have it on blu-ray but I do buy the new releases (if they’re reasonably priced) on blu-ray!

Keep in mind that this set does not have any bonus features. JUST the movies. If you like all the deleted/behind the scenes footage, then this set isn’t for you.

    • Claire

And of course, right after I say this, I notice that it now has bonus features according to a reviewer and the back cover. haha. Ignore my last post. Most reviews said it had no bonus material.
