There’s a new, high value Clabber Girl coupon available. Head on over here to immediately print a SmartSource coupon valid for $0.75/1 Clabber Girl Baking Powder. Walgreens usually has the Clabber Girl baking powder go on sale for around $0.50 with in ad coupon during this time of year– which would mean FREE baking powder when paired with the coupon above! The size listed on the coupon is actually 8.1oz or larger, so this coupon will not work on the smaller size that goes on sale at Walgreens.

At the very bottom of the coupon, it says Consumer: One coupon per purchase only on product indicated, size 8.1 oz or larger. The one that goes on sale at Walgreens is the smaller 4oz can, so this coupon wouldn’t be a match.

Be aware that Clabber Girl brand contains aluminum (Sodium Aluminum Sulfate). It would be better for your health to pay a few cents more for an aluminum free baking powder.

      O wow i didn’t know that…..thanks 😉

I agree, buy Rumsford or some other aluminum free baking powder.

Be aware that Clabber Girl brand baking powder contains aluminum (Sodium Aluminum Sulfate is listed in the ingredients). I think its worth the few extra cents to get an aluminum free brand.

I can’t believe that the scant amount of aluminum in baking powder is problematic. The most I’ve ever used in a recipe is a teaspoon. If I were going to just eat it plain, I’d guess that might not be so healthy, but as it stands, I don’t see a problem.

Just testing the edit feature…NICE Collin! 🙂

It of course is your decision about exposure but if you think about it you are exposed a litlle bit here and there and after awhile this does take a toll on your body, if consumers pushed the manufacturers to take these suspect ingredients out of the food we all could be better off.
        Examples:
        1) BHT in ceral and other snacks
        2) Sodium Nitrate in meats
        3) radiation from your microwave and dental xrays
        4) chemicals from using plastics to store and consume food
I could go on and on but the more you can avoid the better off your health will be.

Thanks Jen, that certainly won’t be one I will bring home for my family.

LOL I am baking up a storm right now with the Clabber Girl, making cornbread for my homemade sage dressing.

Having just about hit middle age, I have concluded that it’s very, very, very, very hard to police everything that comes into your home. I won’t say impossible, but you get my drift. And we all know the things that they tell us one day are bad for us and the next day they backpedal on that research.

I don’t bake too terribly often and wonder if anyone knows the aluminum content of baking powder in prepackaged products? Such as cakes, crescent rolls, etc. Or even the cleanliness standards at each food manufacturer?

Oops! Computer issues this morning. Sorry for the double posting!

Yes, it is free with the coupon in Wegmans. I got 2 last week but i didn’t know about the Sodium Aluminum Sulfate. now I don’t want it.

The coupon had the same size restriction on it last time it was available for print, and the last time it went on sale at Walgreens. The coupon did work on one of the .50 cans for me last time, and did not beep at the register. I believe it may work since it is the exact same as last time…..

Got it! I used this coupon a bit ago and got it for free at VG’s in SE Michigan. Thanks!
