Walgreens: Update on Hallmark Tissue/Wrapping Paper Deal (No Longer Working!)
Just a heads up – I’ve received emails from a handful of readers regarding the Walgreens Hallmark Tissue and wrapping paper deals. It appears the Register Rewards are no longer printing. Well, it was fun while it lasted, right?! 🙂 Anyway, the Walgreens deals for next week will be posted shortly.

Darn. My friend just did it last night and it worked and I was going to try it this morning but thinking maybe not now.
I was at Limerick Walgreens this morning and the RR were on Hallmark Greeting cards only !
I had the same experience this morning in Enumclaw. When I called corporate about it they said it was because I paid with a RR! but the RR I paid with was from last week, so not the Hallmark deal. Why can’t they know what they are talking about!?

I went this morning to do this deal but they didn’t have the “Hallmark” wrapping paper, just the tissue and I also couldn’t find the instore coupon so I’m glad I didn’t purchase.

I did this last night and did not get the RR for the tissue. I thought it was because I used a 2.00 Hallmark RR.
It was working last night. It was because you used the $2 RR sorry 🙁
you cant use the RRs from the same company to buy more. you CAN pay for the items w/them but you wont get another RR from it.
so if you bought the tissue paper you would have to use a RR from a different product to pay for it and then you would get another RR. i hope that doesnt sound too confusing. =)
Boy, sure am glad I got mine yesterday! I made 2 trips to Wags this week, did 3 orders. Spent a total of $37.49 OOP (for $94.69 worth of merch), but have $25 in jingle rewards to spend in the next few weeks.
On a side note, one of the Wags in my area had lots of Cover Girls products marked down to $1.57. Combine that with a P&G 11/28 coupon and walk out with a great deal. Keep your eyes open!!
Next week cover girl will be b1g1 1/2 off Iits on the last page of the ad) clearance sometimes is included in the sale.
I’ve got like 10 packs of tissue and 26 rolls of wrapping paper (my store had tons). The cashier said they were told to pull the tissue but that store didn’t cause they had a lot and wanted it gone.
Also the jingle cash is still happening for spend $25 get $5

I just tried it. Wish I would have seen this sooner. Paid $1.60 for 2 rolls of wrapping paper and no RR’s. Still an ok deal though.
I did this deal the other day and it worked, but today it did not. ): I also noticed that before the Jingle Bucks amount was based on the total before discounts and now it is based on the sub-total. So, today I thought I would get 15 Bucks and I didn’t get any. I was so sad. Oh well, I did manage to get enough Bucks this week to get a Pillow Pet next week. Yea!
same thing happened to me with the Jingle Rewards! I went last night spend $35 oop and got a $20 reward and the $5 for the tissue. Told my friend about it ( a friend that always gets frustrated and messes up her transactions), she did almost the exact same transaction today but only got a $5 jingle and no Hallmark! I felt so bad! Her hubby said he doesn’t want her shopping at Wags anymore cause she takes to much time and then things like this happen! Bummer! But Rite Aid treats her wll so I am glad she won’t stop all together. So they definately changed the reward to AFTER coupons now. Bummer.
Many were finding that they were making it after coupons and rewards, well you spoke and they listened!

It seems Rite Aid, unlike Walgreens, actually cares what their customers think. Their slogan says it all.

Walgreeen has the schick razor bogo half off plus you get a jingle cash for $5.00. That was this morning.

Yesterday, was my first attempt ever at a RR deal. I bought 2 rolls of Studio by Hallmark Christmas paper for $1.99 (B1G1F) and 4 packs of non-holiday tissue paper (B1G1 – 50% off) for $4.50. Not the best deal, but I’m happy.
$7.49 OOP + $5 RR. I then used the $5 RR to buy Garnier HerbaShine haircolor for $4.99 (added some M&Ms) and bought another box of Garnier HerbaShine with the free coupon offer I received in the mail the day before!
Quick question can someone help with me. I went to Walgreens today. I purchased 4 Pixie sets $5.99 each, 2 Carmex lip balm, 2.99 B1G1. and 6 Tissue papers. I used 4 – $4 Pix coupons and 2-$1 Carnex coupons and the Walgreens tissue paper coupons. I knew the Hallmark RR would not print BUT I did not get my Jingle Buck RR either. Manager said to get the RR I had to spend $25.00 after coupons and my total was only $11.61.??? Does that sound right?

When I did the Pixies/Snickers Nutcrackers deal my OOP was about $7 but I got the $5 RR. Sounds like they are now changing the game if they are no longer doing that. I don’t appreciate being penalized for using coupons. They are printed with my ink and my paper and are paid by the manufacturer, not Wag’s. I don’t understand why it is so hard for a retailer to honor a deal they put out there.
This is exactly why I stopped shopping at Wags. I thought I would give them another try today with the Hallmark/Loreal deal, but was told at the register that it wouldn’t print a RR because they discovered that the tissue was giving the RR when it should have been cards only. Ok, so I can understand that (even though it stinks that I drove all the way over there just for that), but I will not go back again because it’s always such a hassle. They advertise all these great deals, but then the rules change at the register! BOOOO!

What’s up??? I definitely “spent” $25 to get the Jingle Cash!!! This is poo poo! Should I go back to the store and same cashier and return all the stuff? I’m frustrated if that is the case and they changed the terms of Jingle Cash/Register Rewards midway!

OK- Called corporate and they said Jingle Cash did not print because I used coupons. I said, the add does not specify that Jingle Cash is rewarded after coupons/sales deducted. Also, I remembered Thursday I had to get a few things, used coupons, wasnt intending to get Jingle Cash but did, and told her that I did get it Thursday night when using coupons and paying less than 25 out of pocket.
She then tried to say that the coupons I used had “limitations” such as cannot be used with other offers which TOLD the Catalina machine to not print the Jingle Cash. UHHHHHHHH- When THE HECK did their scanners get that advanced??? They cant ring stuff up on sale correct half the time, it’s crazy that they said that to me. Also, don’t all coupons say that? And we still get a RR? This is a shady way to change the policy before the sale ends. Frustration!
I am going to try my luck with the store. If not, I’m returning the items and asking for my coupons and Register Rewards back!
Amanda- Same exact thing happened to me today! I expected to get atleast a $5 RR because I purchased atleast $26 before the sales and coupons I used. I spoke to the manager and he stated that it’s always been before the coupons and sale items. What a crock!
I found this on the Walgreens Jingle Cash website, courtesy of Wild4Wags! “Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h is earned after all applicable discounts and before any manufacturer coupons or taxes are imposed.”
Gah! They still lied through their teeth. BEFORE any coupons are imposed… and after all discounts? Hmm… they might have got me on discounts! Fooey! BC the Loreal and Wrapping Paper sale…. This is frustrating! And, I guess since I paid with one RR I dont want to have to deal with seeing if I can even get that back… :/ I know I can get my coupons back… open that drawer!!!
I guess I’ll just let is slide. $3.77 OOP for $34 something of merchandise is a deal… but I am gonna stick it to them!!! I am going to make another purchase with the Crayola Pixies… and bring the printout of the Jingle Cash promotion! I am gonna get my JINGLE on! 😉
Same problem for me today. No RR on the tissue and no RR for spending over $25. I sent an e-mail to the company, but after reading info here I’m guessing it won’t be productive. I’m going to return the tissue.
I think the original sale was suppose to be spend $25 after coupons and get the 5 Jingle cash. At another site people are suspecting that they corrected the original “problem” . . . . So now, it is spend $25 after coupons and rr’s, then get the $5 Jingle Cash.
I had something similar happen on Tuesday. When she told me the total (before coupons) it was over $25 but I didn’t get the $5 Jingle Cash. I went and asked a manager about it. He looked at my receipt and went and added it up. It turns out the the tax was included in my total so I was $.75 short! He let me buy 3 candy canes ($1) and gave me a $5 RR.
The same thing happened to my and I showed the manager a previous receipt where I only spent $11.11 opp and still received a $20sjc so he just rang up $100 worth of items and gave me the $20sjc and voided the transaction. The employees at my Wags are as frustrated as the customers because they have no control of things changing in the middle of a sale. You may want talk to the manager and see if they are willing to do anything to get your sjc.
I’m glad I checked the site before I headed out today because I was going to try it again. I was able to do the tissue deal 5 times yesterday so we have tons of tissue paper. Thanks for posting. It was great while it lasted. I now have $19 in rr to use on future trips.
Went twice yesterday to score a combine total of 18pks of tissure paper (3 transactions) all free plus I made $9. Then I asked hubby if he thought I should go again and get more and he said “do we need any more tissue paper?” and I laughed and said, “that’s not the point” 🙂
lol he sounds like my hubby. but you can give it to the schools for there art class and if your making $9 at the same time why not. My kids school LOVES when we send stuff in.
Oh yeah! Thats a great idea. I was inspired to “adopt” a solider from one of Collins recent posts and this stuff comes in handy when shipping things overseas. Yeah, hubby totally doesnt get it….. 🙂

Wish I would have read this sooner but I did still did ok. Got 2 maybelline color lip glosses, plus 2 wrapping paper, plus the 6 tissue paper for$ 2.39 since i had$ 5 jingle cash already. Didn’t really need the tissue paper though, just bought it for the RR so may return it.

Now I feel a bit better. I went this morning and I was convinced the guy behind me buying cigarettes got my $5!! I guess it just didn’t print. I only spent $3 and kind of needed the wrapping paper anyway.
Last night DH got us 12 tissues in 2 trans & got 2 $5. bucks. He also grabbed 2 rolls of wrap paper but even the mgr refused to let him use the lousy .50 cent Q 🙁
This morn we got 4 rolls paper at a diff store, used the Q with no problem-she just entered it man when beeped.
So glad I bought them yesterday.:)
Did this several times yesterday…combined my “earnings” with coupons on the walgreens diapers….and total spent $11.80 OOP for 6 packs of diapers, 2 carmex lip “things”, 12 candy cane pens and 27 packs of tissue paper! 🙂 THEN I got $10 jingle cash for my purchase of diapers being over $50! So….total = $1.80!! (BTW- my husband is an elementary school teacher and we will be looking for some good crafts to use the tissue paper! haha! =D
Question for everyone: my sister bought 6 Hallmark cards last night (which should be working) and didn’t get her catalina. She didn’t know to ask at the store. So should she contact Wags Cust Service or is there a number for the Catalina company?
Susan, she should contact the catalina company and she has to give them a reference number off of her receipt. I think Collin may have the number for the catalina company.

I did the tissue deal with the L’Oreal mascara Friday afternoon. Some of the UPCs on the tissue paper were wrong and the 3/$1.00 in store coupon only subtracted four of the pkgs of paper. The manager had to give me money back for the foul up with their Q. I still ended up on the plus side, as I got that transaction for free, plus a little bit of a money maker, after the $5.00 Hallmark RR & the $5.00 Jingle Cash.
The dates on the Jingle Cash require that it be spent between 12-12-2010 and 12-18-2010.
Jingle Cash will not print after a purchase of cigarettes.
I went yesterday (Friday) and bought 6 packages of the tissue paper and got my RR as expected. Then I did a separate transaction for the Crayola Pixie Art (purchased 4 of them) and 6 of the Snickers Nutcracker Singles, used the $5 RR from the tissue paper, so paid less than $5 OOP. Great deals. And after reading this post, I am glad I found time to go yesterday. I sometimes feel like we should all just boycot Walgreen’s. Their system/coupons are such a pain! Unfortunately, I don’t have a Rite-Aid near by, but there are CVS stores on nearly every corner and I find their system MUCH easier to use (even though they limit transactions)! Sorry everyone is having such a hard time w/Wags! Ugh!
I did the tissue deal twice last night and scored 2 $5 RR’s. I also tried the wrapping paper and it did not print my $2 RR. I was a little upset because my husband said if I brought any more wrapping paper in the house he would kill me – hee,hee, I just left it in the car. The jingle cash worked last night for purchase before coupons because I got $10 but my OOP was around 17.00 – so at least I scored some money for other things next week. Glad I read post today because I was going to go and try the tissue paper again – but not now. Teachers will be happy with what I supply them with though.
So glad I didn’t put this deal off. Went in on Thur. and did the tissue paper deal 4x’s. Then went back a few hours later after the kids were in bed and used the $20 RR on a Pillow Pet and used the FREE Snickers as my filler items since I had 4 RR to use!
I tried the offer today in Northern CA. It didn’t work, but they put a work order on it and I got a Walgreen’s gift card for $5.21!

I believe I saw the Wags Preview for next ad 12/12 and it advertises Buy 2 Hallmark items get $2 RR and Buy 6 get $5 RR. I am surprised it just stopped like that. Glad I did not go today.

I got the rewards last night, but they wouldn’t take my 50cent off Hallmark wrap coupon! They said becuase it is actually color studio BY hallmark…weird!
I had the same experience last night at my Walgreens as well. I had no problem getting the $5. reward, but could not use the coupon. It beeped and the cashier called her manager. She looked at the coupon and said the same thing. It was a “division” of Hallmark. Silly, but I was fine with that because I got the $5. I only spent $3.33, got the last 4 packs of tissue paper and 2 rolls of wrapping paper. Just glad after reading this that I got the $5.!
Wish I had not procrastinated! I went today and thought i would get the $5.00 RR for spending $25 (before coupons) and the $5.00 for the Hallmark deal. I got nothing 🙁 At least now I know why….thanks for posting.
Yesterday, the tissue one worked for me, and the wrapping paper one, too, but the 50cents off each roll of wrapping paper coupons wouldn’t work b/c the wrapping paper was already on a BOGO sale and the coupon states that it cannot be combined with any other offers. Bummer, but ok, b/c with the $2 RR, it made the $1.99 BOGO wrapping paper free!
I went to Wallgreens today and my RR’s didn’t come out. To my utter shock and surprise the cashier gave me a $6 wallgreens gift card. No questions asked. I am loving this Walgreens. 🙂
I just had the absolutely nicest Walgreens’ manager! My coupons (the $5 for tissue paper and the $2 for wrapping paper) didn’t print and there was another lady there buying the same thing at another counter while I was in here. The cashier asked me, “Weren’t you supposed to get Register Rewards?” I said that I thought I was (I was considering not saying anything because they were busy with several customers). She told the manager and he mentioned that another woman was there with the same problem. He asked how much we were supposed to get. I told him I thought it was seven. He gave us each a gift card for $7.39 (it worked out the way he did it that we got the tax back). I have never been treated so nicely about RR.
I’m sooo glad that I didn’t drag my feet on the tissue paper deal! I did the deal 3 times yesterday and got $15.00 in jingle cash! tyvm Collin!!!
